Today’s card (7-4)

Hello!

Meet today’s card.

MakeMeSmileCirclesCard_teri

I had some serious fun making the background paper here. It started as just a plain piece of white cardstock.

I dry embossed it with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I think the folders are the most wonderful invention ever for those (like me… hee!) who like the look of embossing but totally don’t have the patience to much of it. ;)

Then, I whippped out a pen and highlighted some of the raised areas.

This might sound like that process was a bit tedious, but it really wasn’t. It only a couple minutes. The trick was not applying to much pressure on the pen when I tapped the paper with it. If you really look at the actual card, you’ll see there are a few spots where I got ink on the non-raised areas of the paper. I didn’t think the misplaced ink distracted from the overall look of the card so I went with it.

The rub-on is from Melissa Frances. The gems here are finds from the dollar bin at M’s.

That’s all I have for now. I’ll be back tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July to those in the States. And happy weekending to the rest of you. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Love this card. It definitely makes me smile, and I’ll have to try the Copics on my Cuttlebug backgrounds. Thanks for the hint.
