Today’s card (10-15)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

I am having a hard time breaking my banner/garland habit as of late. ;) It’s just fun to do.

I used a bunch of Technique Tuesday stamps on this one. The polkies are from Passion for Polka. The words are from the No Day Like Today set by Ali Edwards (it’s October’s Studio AE stamp set from TT), while the star is from Everyday Life.

The rest is from my stash-a-roo.

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

GCD Technique: Shaped cards (10-14)

Hi everyone!

I’m back at the GCD Studios blog today so I am bringing it here today, too.

Today, I want to show you how to make shaped cards with GCD Studio’s Chip Art chipboard shapes. The cool thing about GCD Chip Art shapes is most of the packs have a few large shapes.

These are super fantastic for making cards.
You can go to town and decorate them up. Then, you simply have to set your completed shape on cardstock and draw an outline of the shape. Cut out your outline. Add a little glue to the top of it and place it behind your shape. Bend it a little and your shape will stand freely and you’ll have a card.

It really is that easy!

I have two cards to share with you today that I made with the Chip Art chipboard shapes.

The first card I made was this little monster.

The rectangle base is a Chip Art chipboard shape. I covered it up with papers from the Independence and Smoothie Shoppe collections (as well as cardstock). I added the face, letters and button (that’s from the Artsy Urban collection).

I also made the pumpkin with a Chip Art chipboard circle. I covered it with the orange backside of paper again from the Smoothie Shoppe collection. The pumpkin’s stem was cut from green polka dot paper from GCD’s Joyful Peace collection.

I also made this shabby little red house.

I used the Chip Art tool to give the house’s roof texture. I also used it to give the tree leaves.

I placed patterned paper from GCD’s Ava collection in the house’s windows.

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Today’s card (10-11)

Hi all!

Another day. Another card.

Meet today’s card.

This one uses stamps from the good folks at Denami Design. The buttons are from Denami, too.

The twine and ribbon are from my stash.

If you’d like to win some Denami stamps and accessories, hit the Paper Crafts fan page on Facebook today and comment on the Denami giveaway post. There’s a pretty spiffy giveaway going on.

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Thanks for all for now.

Today’s card (10-8)

Hi all!

Lots and lots going on in Teriville right so I’m going to be short today.

Meet today’s card.

This card is for a dear friend of mine who is getting married this weekend.  So happy for her.

There’s a whole lot of Lawn Fawn stamping action going down on this one.
The banner is from Bannerific. The “xoxoxo” is from Sophie’s Sentiments. The hearts are from Teeny Tiny Backdrops.

The twine, button, pearls and clips are from my stash-a-roo.

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Thanks for stopping by. :)

GCD Theme: Totally tagging it (10-7)

Hi everyone!

Teri here, and I am happy to be back on the GCD Studios blog today.

This month, the team was challenged to make  Halloween and Fall tags.

I’ve always been a tag fan so this challenge was right up my alley!

The base of all the tags  I am going to share with you today are chipboard tags from GCD’s collection of cool Chip Art chipboard shapes. Cool stuff!

I started with the Halloween tag and decided to make two tags instead. I picked two tags that reminded me of a tombstones.

I used the Chip Art tool to put the words on the tags.

The first one says, “Mr. Dude. RIP.” The second one says, “Here lies Bob.”

Once I put the words on the tags, I added a coat of gray paint. I really wanted the tags to look a bit aged and weathered so I sanded the tags while the paint was just barely dry. That helped to lift some of the paint and tear one of the tags a little bit so it added their aged look.

When I was finished, I made a goofy little Halloween scene for them.

For my Fall tag, I made one simple tag.

I started again with a chipboard tag from the ChipArt collection of chipboard shapes. This time, I covered it with paper.

I also used a house and pair of trees. I covered the house with patterned paper from GCD’s Independence collection and roughed up the edges with sand paper. I also hammered in a heart onto the house with the Chip Art tool.

I gave the trees leaves with Chip Art tool. Rather than painting the trees, I used added a layer of Glossy Accents clear glaze to their tops. I think it just gives them a different look than what I would have achieved with paint.

I finished the tag off with the sentiment and jute. I also added some grass cut from GCD patterned paper.

Thanks for visiting today.

I’ll be back again soon.

Lawn Fawn Sneak Peek 4: Winter Bunny

Hi all!

I’ve got one final peek for you with one of Lawn Fawn’s new stamps.

Today, I’m using the new Winter Bunny stamp!

Meet today’s sneaky peek. ;)

That bunny is the stamp! Cute, huh?

I thought it’d make a fun little decoration for a goodie packet so that is what I did.

I paired it up with a word stamp from Lawn Fawn’s new Frosties set.

For more peeks of this stamp in action, check out Lawn Fawn’s blog with links to all the Fawny girls. :)
