Clear stamps rock, reason #456 (Layered stamping)

And, so, here I am with yet another reason why clear stamps rock.

I know you’ve anxiously been waiting to hear another one, right? 😉

Well, wait no more because my reason is this: easy layers.

Clear stamps are totally great for stamping in layers.  That’s because, with little or no effort, you can line up and overstamp multiple images.

Take a look at this little card I worked on today.

That circle there is exactly what I am talking about.

I started out with a piece of cardstock, a circle punch, three ink pads and three stamps (the T is from Technique Tuesday’s Savannah set; the “thank you” image is from TT’s Little Sentiments set; and the scalloped circle is from TT’s Loopy Labels set).

Then I:

* Punched a circle from the white cardstock. FYI, I used a large circle punch from Fiskars.

* Stamped the scalloped frame on the cardstock circle.

* Stamped the T in the middle of the circle.

* Over-stamped the “Thank You” sentiment with black ink over the T and circle.

When you try this at home, remember to stamp first with a light color. Stamp second with a color that’s a little darker. Stamp the third time with a really dark color.

It might take awhile to find a color combo that works for you, but the end result will be totally worth it.

Thanks for stopping by today!
