A blast from the past (8-26)

Rather than something new, I thought I’d share some older projects today.

These are all published projects I made at least a year ago. What provokes this post today is I have been sorting through some of my old projects this week to toss, donate and/or file away. These are a few that just kind of stood out and made me smile.

Meet Mr. Robot. Believe it or not, this little guy is a card and really does stand on his own. I think he’s probably my favorite card to date.  He was published in  Paper Crafts’ “Card Creations: Quick and Easy (Vol. 1)” special issue. The issue was a really cool issue, featuring 5-steps or less cards. It’s available here.

I made this little XoXo card almost three years ago (gasp). I can’t believe I made it that long ago. I’m like a card making dinosaur. 😉  It appeared in the Jan./Feb. 2006 issue of Cards magazine. I went through this whole ric rac phase and this card happened during that time.

This card here appeared in the Aug./Sept. 2007 issue of Paper Crafts magazine.  It is based on a sketch by Wendy “sketchin’ superstar” Johnson. Wendy is the queen of fun paper craft sketches and has a column every issue of PC with a couple new sketches. It’s always fun to see all the different takes on her ideas.

I made this Dream card about two years ago. It appeared in the October 2006 issue of Cards magazine. I’d like to tell you that I am some cool artist and that’s the reason for the torn edge, but, ha ha, I am not. It really was just a happy accident during the creation of it.

Anyway, that’s it for today. Be back tomorrow with something new.

  1. All of these cards are superb! I especially love the robot. What a great kids card! I struggle with masculine cards and kids cards. Thanks for the inspiration!!
