Zva Creative DT Blog Hop (1-18)

Hi all!

Rather than my normal “Today’s Card” post, today’s is going to be a little different.

That’s because I am taking part today in another  Zva Creative DT Blog Hop.

Our team is joining together today to share a favorite project that each of us created with  the latest Zva Creative products that will debut at the winter CHA craft trade show this week.

Zva is introducing 100+ brand new crystal and pearl embellishment designs at the show. All designs have a fresh new look and are available in various popular color choices. If you are attending, please stop by the Zva at Booth # 2991.

Today’s hop begins at Kim Hughes’ blog. She is linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. There are 12 design team members, so be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it’s important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

This Blog Hop runs through midnight on Tuesday, January 19th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, January 20th. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it’s best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday…plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post…you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer’s blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Anyway, enough mumbo jumbo. Let me show you my favorite card made with the new stuff.

Ta-da! 😉

The butterflies are brand new. Pretty stuff.

The words and single crystals are from a prior release.

The papers here are from My Mind’s Eye and Pink Paislee.

Next on the hop is the talented Anabelle. Click on her name and you’ll get right to her blog.

Thanks for stopping by today. And thank you for taking part in our blog hop!

I’ll be back tomorrow!

Today’s card (1-17)

Hello everyone!

Meet today’s card.

I was totally inspired by my buddy Kim and the challenge she posted on her blog the other day. Her challenge was to make a card that combined two loves or make one inspired by her card. I chose the latter.

Admittedly, my card is a loose interpretation of her’s.  It  is a quilt card at least. 😉

To give the card more of a quilt feel, I gave it a little random stitching. No real rhyme or reason. I just kept on stitching. Anyway, here’s a closeup of the stitching.

All the paper here is from Melody Ross’ Homespun Chic collection for GCD Studios. I received a sample of it the other day of it so I figured I’d try it out for this card. Thank you sample sender for thinking of me.

The fabric letters are some long-forgotten oldies but goodies from Scrapworks.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back Monday.

Thank you for stopping by.

Today’s card (1-15)

Hello all!

Meet today’s card.

This one is from a few weeks back.  I went through quite a love fest with this color combo and these stamps for a few days.

The flowers are from Papertrey Ink’s In Bloom set. The polkies are from their Polka Dot Basics 2 set. And those words are from Technique Tuesday’s Simply You set by Ali Edwards. It’s one of those rare stamp sets that I think works great for card lovers and scrap fans.

Nothing more to say to today so tune in tomorrow for another card.

Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

Today’s card (1-14)

Hello all!

Meet today’s card.

This one is another result from my recent play sessions with some of Zva Creative’s new products that will be released at CHA. The butterfly and mushroom come together in one package.

I have to admit that I  howled when I saw the mushroom. I thought it was just fun.

The crystals here are all from Zva Creative. The papers are from My Mind’s Eye. The letter stickers are from American Crafts.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today’s card and Paper Crafts gossip (1-13)

Hi all!

I have two items on the agenda today.

First, meet today’s card.

I made this one while playing with some of the new crystals  Zva Creative will be introducing at CHA-W next week.

Flower and flourish lovers rejoice because the flower flourish here is one those new products. 😉

Just for kicks, here’s a close up of the card. I pierced the paper next to some parts of the flourish. I feel like it just made it pop a little more.

Second, let’s talk about Paper Crafts magazine. Ha ha ha. (Imagine I said that in kind of a sinister way.)

The editors are celebrating the brand, new Card Creations: Start-to-Finish 2 special issue this week on the Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World blogs.

Go. Check it out. There giveaways and lots of talk about the issue, which shows off  300+ cards with fronts and guts (so to speak). Plus, there’s some great interviews on the blogs with the issue’s three cover girls – Tanis, Charlene and Becky (Huge, huge, congrats guys!)!

I’m joining the party today on Moxie Fab. Cath invited me to join 8 other designers to make a never-seen-before, just-for-Moxie Fab card in celebration of the new issue.

Here’s a peek of my card.

Go to Moxie Fab and you can see the complete inside and out of this “Pear-ty Great” Thank You card. While you are there, leave a comment. Cath will choose someone at random who will win my card and the eight other cards featured today.

Well, that is all I have for now.

Things have slowed down here so I’ll be back tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s card (1-7)

Hola!

What’s happening, my card making friends?

Super duper busy time here, but I have a card for you. Just because. 🙂

Meet today’s card.

In full disclosure here, this card happened simply because I had these stamps sitting on my desk from another project.

This is sort of a crazy, heavy Papertrey Ink card. The flowers are from Papertrey’s In Bloom stamp set. The words are from the Life set, and the polkies are from the Polka Dot Basics 2 set. That Polka Dot Basics 2 set has definitely become one of my Go-To-Stamp Sets.  Can’t go wrong with polka dots. They work with almost everything.

Well, not much else to say today. I’ll be back again soon!

Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s card (1-6)

Hello all!

Meet today’s card.

This card is not a home run card for me. I had this idea for it and I didn’t really translate it into what I envisioned.  Oh well. It’s a good one for my donation bin. 🙂

It is hard to tell, but there’s a little shimmer on the card. I placed all the flowers on the card and then squirted a coat of Vanilla Smooch Spritz from Clearsnap onto them.

The stamps are from Technique Tuesday. The flowers are from their Spiro Garden set. The words are from the Simply You set.

Well, well. That is all I have for now. I’ll be back tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today’s card (1-5)

Hello all!

Meet today’s card.

I was inspired by the recent challenge Nichole Heady posed to her Papertrey Ink pals to use their scraps. Go here to see her post about her “Scrap-tastic” challenge.

I used my scraps to make the label here. Basically, I just glued a bunch of scraps on cardstock and then cut them out with a label die. I finished the label off by stamping on it with one of Papertrey’s Vintage Labels clear stamps.

Just for fun, here are a couple in-progress pictures of “another scrappy” label I made.

This one shows the paper all down.

This one shows it being cut.

Besides the label stamp, the sentiment stamp I used on my card is also from Papertrey Ink. It’s from their In Bloom set. The patterned paper is all from the Greenhouse collection by Carolyn Gavin for K & Co.

Well, that’s all I have for now. I’ll be back tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!
