Today’s card (6-1)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

This week, the Lawn Fawn gang is teaming up with the folks at Helmar by playing with their adhesive products.

I made this card because of that challenge.

All the images here are from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the ‘burbs and Hello Friend stamp sets.

I used Helmar’s Zap Dots to pop up the critters. To create a little extra layering, I put two layers under the cat and only one layer under the dog.  I also used one layer to pop us the sentiment.

Be sure top check out the Lawn Fawn blog to see  everything else the gang had worked up with Lawn Fawn and Helmar’s products.

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Today’s card and peek (5-30)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

This is a little something, something I worked up this weekend.

The stamps are from Technique Tuesday’s Loving Words by Ali Edwards stamp set. The paper (the blue stuff, ruler and the dots) is from their Perspectives collection. The graph paper is from my stash.

And, while I’m talking about Technique Tuesday, here’s a peek of something made with the Studio AE stamp set for June.

I’ll share the whole project in June. 🙂

All the words are from the new set. The plane is from TT’s All Aboard stamp set.

The new set  (called The Observant Traveler by Ali Edwards) is a travel themed one. I’ve been using it this time for cards and for a travel-themed mini book.

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

GCD Studios: One final project for the 2010-2011 term

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

This card has been in holding (so to speak) for awhile.

This the last card I made for the 2010 – 2011  term on the GCD Studios Design Team. I just recently kicked off a second term on the team (Thanks to Heidi and the GCD team for the opportunity!).

This card uses mostly new products from GCD Studios’ new Soul Food collection. The sentiment card, as well as the butterflies and patterned papers, are all from the collection.

I also added a few pink Glitter Candy Dots from GCD’s Funhouse collection to it, as well as a few gemstones from my scrapbook stash.

What a fun experience being part of the GCD Studios team over the last year was.

What I’ve enjoyed most is making some new friends on the team, who I like to think will be my friends always.

I’ve also really enjoyed the challenges during my first term on the team. We were challenged each month not just to use GCD Studios products but to do technique and theme challenges. Those gave my creativity just a little extra push, which I really appreciated.

That’s all for now. Be back soon!

Today’s card (5-27)

Hello, hello!
Another day. Another card.
Meet today’s.

I used a bunch of stamps from A Muse Studio on this one.
Such fun happy stamps! It was a lot fun to just mix and match a bunch of them together.

To make the flowers pop, I put a couple pieces of foam tape under them. I also added pearls to the top. Just kind of gives them an extra bit of “umph, umph.” 😉

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

PS… I forgot. I need give someone a copy of Card Creations 9 from Paper Crafts magazine. That lucky someone is: Cathy P in AZ (5/22 at 10:46 a.m.)! Congrats, Cathy! I will send you an email shortly to make prize sending plans. Thanks to all who left so many nice comments over the last several days. Every single one of them is much appreciated!

Go-to Challenge: October Afternoon

Hello, hello!

It’s time again to share the results of another Go-to Challenge.

What’s a Go-to Challenge you ask? Well, it’s just a for “fun thing” with the Go-to-Gals.  It’s totally an “editor-free/just us” kind of thing. 😉

Once a month, we pick a manufacturer and challenge ourselves to make something with their stuff. We share on the last Wednesday of the month. It’s totally a “for fun” thing. Sometimes, we all play.  Sometimes, just a few of us do.

This month, we challenged each other to use  products from October Afternoon.

With that, meet today’s card.

Ta-da. 🙂

The paper, label, ribbon and buttons are all from October Afternoon’s Five and Dime collection. Such fun stuff.

The tulle and pins are from my old stash-a-roo. The letter stickers are from My Mind’s Eye.

Be sure to check the blogs of Windy, Julie, Jennifer, Kim and Betsy to see what they came up. I can’t wait to see myself!

Be back back later. Thanks for stopping by.

Technique Tuesday Stamping Tech Hop

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Technique Tuesday Stamping Tech Hop!

I’m a part of Technique Tuesday’s Stamping Tech team, and we are joining together today for a Blog Hop.
We’re sharing some of our favorite cards made with Technique Tuesday’s stamps.

Meet the card I made for today’s hop.

I used two Technique Tuesday stamp sets on my card: Pocket Full of Posies and Loving Words by Ali Edwards.

To color the flowers, I used some of the new Caran d’Ache Neocolor watercolor crayons Technique Tuesday recently started carrying in their online store and convention booths. I stamped the flowers first with Staz-on ink (because it won’t bleed when water touches it) on watercolor paper. Then, I scribbled crayon around the edges of flowers and then used water and a paint brush to spread the color.

Be sure to check out the blogs of all the Stamping Techs taking part in today’s hop.

Comments must be made by midnight Eastern time on 5/27.

Paper Crafts magazine Presents: Card Creations 9 Blog Hop

Hello, hello!

It’s a good day for a blog hop.

And, today, I’m joining eight other crafters and the Paper Crafts magazine gang  for a blog hop in honor of the all new Card Creations 9 special issue.

Have you heard about it?

Ok. Probably. 😉

But if you haven’t, please check be sure to check it out. It’s the ultimate special issue for card makers. It’s jammed packed with cards for all occasions.

This was one of my favorite issues to work on in the last year because of the sheer number of occasions represented. From general cards to birthday cards to sympathy cards, there’s a bit of everything in it.

The issue is available in book and craft stores all over. You can also find in the Paper Crafts online store by clicking here.

Enough talking about the issue. Let’s get on with the project.

We were invited to make something inspired by the cover.

Here’s what I came up with.

I was inspired by the design of Windy’s Simply the Best card.

I used just one flower and and sentiment, but I opted a bit more color with my card.

Also, rather than using pearls, I used glitter. I applied clear tape to the card and dumped glitter on top of the strips.

Be sure to check the blogs of the other Hoppers to see how they were inspired by the cover.

Also, leave a comment on my blog today. I’ll pick one of you to receive a copy of Card Creations 9.

You’ll also want to comment on my fellow hoppers’ blogs. That’s because they are giving away copies of the issue, too.

And, one more thing, be sure to hit Paper Crafts Connection, too. There’s a fun giveaway there today in honor of the issue.

To be eligible to win, all comments must be posted by midnight (MDT) on Sunday, May 22.

That’s all for now.

Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to stop by.
