July Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello, hello!

Woot! Woot! It’s the 10th!

That means it is Studio AE Blog Hop time. Welcome to the next stop on the July Studio AE Blog Hop!

If you haven’t seen the new Studio AE stamp set from Technique Tuesday, here’s a peek.

The new set is called “Get Outside by Ali Edwards.” It ships to Studio AE members between the 10th and the 15th. It is also available for a limited time on Technique Tuesday web site for purchase by non-Studio AE members. And I hear it will be landing soon on Two Peas and at other retailers. 😉

I decided this month to make a card for the Blog Hop with the stamp set.

Meet my project for the hop.

I’ve been making quite a few mini books lately with the Studio AE stamp sets so it was fun to do something in card form this time.

The bird and the words are from the new stamp set.

I made the box of birds by masking. Here’s a play by play of how I did it:

1. First, I used sticky notes to mask off a box on a piece of cardstock.

2. Then, I stamped one row of birds.

3. Then, I kept doing it again and again with different colors. Notice that I did stamp not just in the square but on the sticky note, too.

4. Finally, I removed the sticky notes. The end result was a nifty box of birds.

Be sure to check the blogs of all the players in today’s hop.

  23. Love the touch of whimsy. I think for you the meaning of “Get Outside” could be “think outside the box.” Love that about your work. Love the way you repeated the semi-circular shape of the bird in the embellishment and the border. I wouldn’t have thought of the semi-circle and brad, but it really finishes the card.
