Technique Tuesday Peeks pt. 1

Hi all!

I just wanted to share a few peeks today of something I made with a new stamp set from Technique Tuesday.

Meet peek #1.

Meet peek #2.

And meet peek #3.

All the peeks use a stamp set called Bright Idea. The “Watt’s Up?” one also has a stamp (“friend”) on it from a new Ali Edwards set. The “Light Up My Life” one also uses a new Ali stamp (border on the shades).

Technique Tuesday will be revealing the Bright Idea set, along with the rest of their Summer release on July 23rd. (Random side note: Just wait until you see the stamps Ali’s cooked up. Holy moly, they are nifty. And, gosh, then there’s the Chevron…. the beautiful Chevron….. set. You know those “My Precious. Oh, my precious words” from a certain blockbuster movie? Yep. Yep. Totally feeling “that” kind of love for it. But I digress.)

Be back later.

I will share a few more “in-action” sneak peeks of some the new stamp sets over the next few daysย  here on my blog.

Technique Tuesday: Greenhouse Society

Hi all!

Another card to share today.

It’s the 15th so I get to share my first project made with July’s Greenhouse Society stamp set from Technique Tuesday.

Think of it as a Christmas in July set. It’s pretty cool!

Watch for it to go on sale on their Greenhouse Society page, and check out the TT blog for more projects made with it.

So here’s what I whipped up with it.

My first Christmas card for year. One day… a billion to go.

Ha. It’s well-known among my crafty friends that I lack a lot skills when it comes to coloring with markers. Skilled like my friends Tobi and Kris, I am not. But, gosh, the holly was sure a fun image to color with markers. It proved to be pretty forgiving for a not-the-most-skilled marker user like myself.

To give the berries a little extra pop, I colored them red and then slapped on some Stickles glitter glue on top.

That’s all for now. Be back later, gators.

Thanks for stopping by.

Avocado Arts: Project Share (7-15)

Hi all!

Woohoo! It’s Sunday Funday.Woo-to-the-hoo!

So meet today’s card.

I used Avocado Arts‘ Bold Celebrations set on this bad boy.ย  The polka dots, balloon and string are all from the set. The sentiment is from their new set for August, Perfectly Perfect Day, which is pretty dang perfect. Awwwww, but you’ll have to wait a bit before you see the whole set. But I digress. (And yes, friends, evil teaser tendencies I have. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hee hee hee.)

The papers are from Crate Paper, Echo Park Paper and Fancy Pants. The Blossom twine is from The Twinery.

To see more projects with the Bold Celebrations & Perfectly Perfect Day stamp sets, head to the blogs of all these great chicks:

And, of course, Avocado Arts. Be sure to tell them howdy just because. ๐Ÿ™‚ It would make their day.

Be back again later!

GCD Studios: Make a Silly, Goofy Door Hanger for a Kid (7-14)

Hi everybody!

I’m over on the blog for GCD Studios today so I thought I’d share my post here, too.

I’m here today with a fun treat to make for your kids.

Meet my happy little door sign, which just happens to have two silly, goofy guys that disguise some Pixy Stix candies!

Goofy and cute, right? This is a fun little treat is a great one to make for kids and to leave on their bedroom door as a surprise. I mean, how fun will it be when one of them opens the door and finds one of these on it?

It didn’t take a whole lot of supplies to make it: some GCD papers; a couple Pixy Stix candies; a circle punch; cardstock; a pen and and a few assorted embellishments.

I made the sun by cut triangles and a circle from patterned and piecing them together and then mounting them on cardstock. I made the cloud by free-hand cutting a cloud from patterned paper. Don’t worry if your cloud doesn’t look too hot when you cut it. My didn’t either. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Once you mount it to cardstock, it will look just fine.

The sun and cloud sit just right at the end of the candies.

I used just a little bit of adhesive to make them stick. I recommend using something like Glue Dot rather than liquid glue for this.

To make the hanger to put them in, I just cut a large piece of paper and used a circle punch to cut a circle out of the top of it. Then I used a couple smaller pieces of paper to make a pocket to place on the front. Remember: Put adhesive on three sides of those papers (the left and right sides and the bottom). Don’t go all the way or you won’t be able to use it as a pocket.

Finish things off by tying some ribbon or twine around the bottom of the hanger and spelling out your child’s name with letter stickers or die-cuts.

Supplies: Les Fleurs Paper โ€“ Bonjour!, Sunswept Paper – Spendor, Butterfly Flutter Paper – Bonjour!, Organic Geo Paper – Flower Child,ย  Peacock Paper – Flower Child

(Looking for my Studio AE Blog Hop post? Go here, or just scroll to the post below this one.)

Hi all!

Lucky be playing along today over with the lovely folks from The Play Date Cafe.ย  They do a great challenge every week to make something with a color story.

So here is this week’s Color Story.

Pretty, huh?

So I whipped out this bad boy!

Ta-da! You will see a little bit of each color shown in the Color Story in it.

The paper is from Simple Stories. The mint-y stuff is Washi tape.

And the words and little star with circle around it are a sneak peek of sorts. They are stamps are from the Awesome stamp set from Technique Tuesday, which they will be debuting on their web site around July 23rd. Watch for their Web site for it, or ask your favorite retailer to consider getting it in.

Be sure to check out the Play Date Cafe’s blog to see some other takes on this week’s Color Story.

July Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello everybody!

It’s time again for another Studio AE Blog Hoppity Hop. Woot!

I decided to share a card today for the hop.

All the words are from Ali’s new Summer Rocks stamp set.

It was kinda fun just to stamp a random pattern with the words over and over again.

The sunshine is from Ali’s Bring on the Sun set, one of my favorites and most used and abused. ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  (<——Dude, don’t judge.)

Be sure to check the blogs of everyone taking part in this month’s hop.

Be sure to comment as you go. That’s because one person will be picked at random from all the comments to receive a $25 gift certificate from TechniqueTuesday.com.
(And… psstttt…. you didn’t hear it here, but it’s a good time to win a gift certificate. They will be revealing their Summer release on their Web site on July 23rd. Lots of good stuff.)
The winner will be announced on 7/13 on Technique Tuesday’s blog.
Good luck, y’all! See you again soon.

Today’s card (7-1)

Hi all!

Another day, another card!

Meet today’s.

This is one I worked up with Summer Rocks by Ali Edwards, July’s Studio AE stamp set from Technique Tuesday.

I usually go graphic with Ali’s stamps, but I decided to live on the edge this time and try to do something a little more on the cute side. Hence this is what I ended up with.

Wiggle eyes, I think, always add a little cuteness. ๐Ÿ™‚

The papers are from Echo Park Paper.

Nothing more to say so be back later. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

See you again soon.
