Mama Elephant Grand Opening Stampede! (10-10)

(If you are looking for my Oct. Studio AE Blog Hop post, that’s the post right below this one. Scroll down or click here. It’s a busy day on my blog!)

Hi everyone!

I am thrilled to  be celebrating the launch today of Mama Elephant, the newest clear stamp company on the block, as part of their Grand Opening blog hop! Today is the first day of a two days of blog hopping fun!

My dear friend Kryssi, one half of the Mama Elephant crew, shared this about Mama Elephant to share with you.

“Mama Elephant is owned and operated by two childhood friends from NYC. We are so happy to bring the collaboration of our aesthetics to Mama Elephant! Our stamps are designed with card makers and scrapbookers in mind! Our stamps are carefully curated to provide optimal versatility with a wide variety of styles – cute, whimsical, bold, graphic, and  fun!”

Let’s just cut to the chase: Their new stamps are super cute! And guess what? For today and Thursday, you can get them for 10% off. Just use this coupon code: GRANDOPEN.

You should have arrived here from the Mama Elephant blog.

So let’s get on with my hop project… er… projects…, shall we? 😉

So meet #1.

And meet #2.

I used Mama Elephant’s We Click stamp set for both cards. The washi tape, the words, snapshot and camera are all from the set. Being a fan of all things camera-related, this set is right up my alley!

I mean, seriously, how cute are the sentiments? I especially love the words on the second card.

They just rock!

Next stop on the hop is the blog of the lovely and talented Cheiron Brandon. Take it away, Cheiron!

And remember if you want to start at the beginning of the hop, head back to the Mama Elephant blog. That’s the stop right before me.

See you all again soon!

October Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hi all!

It’s time for another Studio AE Blog Hop! Woot, woot!

The crew is celebrating the new December Joys by Ali Edwards stamp set, which starts shipping today.

I love this set!

I have a few projects to share with you today.
I went the non-traditional route and first made a card with it.

I paired it with a couple stamps from other Technique Tuesday stamp sets:  Jingle All the Way by Ali Edwards and Be Jolly (one of the stamp sets I personally designed).

To give the snowy field the look of ice, I squirted a big puddle of Stickles glitter glue onto the field and spread it with my finger.

So in addition to cards, I used the set (and a few other ones from Technique Tuesday’s 2012 release) to make some journaling cards and filler cards ahead of time to use in my Project Life and December Daily albums this year.

And I kept going, and whipped out these ones, too:

Besides the December Joys set, I used stamps from Twinkle On, Be Jolly and the Magic of Christmas by Ali Edwards on my cards. The papers are just leftover pieces of patterned paper cut down to fit in my books!

Alright so enough project sharing, please be sure to check out the blogs of all of today’s hoppers:

From all the comments made during the hop, Technique Tuesday will pick one person at random to receive a $25 gift certificate from TechniqueTuesday.com.
The winners will be announced on the TT blog  on the 13th.

Today’s card (10-9)

Hi all!

Dummm… dummmm…. dummmmmm!

Meet today’s card!

Made this one based on one of the World Card Making Day challenges over at Studio Calico. They launched a whole bunch of them on their blog on World Card Making Day.

I used a whole lotta stuff for this one from their Central High Card Kit for this one. Also used a little Washi tape (the grid stuff) and some Lawn Fawn paper (the orange stuff).

I changed the color of the little SC Mistable arrows not with mist but with metallic rub-ons. A bit less messy and instantly ready to use (no dry time)!

That’s all for now.

Be back soon!

Ps… Who won the WCMD prize? That would be: Ashley N Newell (10/6 at 10:36 p.m.).

“This is so nice, Teri! Happy WCMD!”

Congrats, Ashley! I’ll send you an email shortly so I can get your prize out.

Avocado Arts: Project Share (10-7)

Hi all!

Another day. Another card.

Some Avocado Arts action today. 🙂

Use the new Gobble Until You Wobble set, along with their all-purpose Borders and Sentiments set, for it.

Just a simple little card really with a little bit of this and a little bit of that added to it.

I’m not the only one playing with Avocado Arts stamps today. Head to the blogs of these sweet girls to see what they made with the Gobble Until You Wobble set:

Swing by the Avocado Arts blog, too. The Avocado Arts gang always love to hear from good folks, too.

Be back again later, friends!

That’s all for now, my fine friends. See you all again soon.

World Card Making Day: One More Card (10-6)

Hi all!

Hope you are able have been able to make some cards today!

Here’s one of the cards I made this afternoon!

Just a bunch of random stuff, fun stuff, really.

The papers are from Lily Bee, Lawn Fawn and Crate Paper. The Happy Day sentiment is a die cut from My Mind’s Eye and the butterfly is an die-cut from Pink Paislee.

Added a little mist just for the heck of it with some of Mr. Huey sprays from Studio Calico. (Those stars are from SC, too.)

Lots of fun stuff happening today across the Web in honor of the big day. Here are a couple things that caught my eye:

* Cath has a bunch of fun World Card Making Day challenges up on Moxie Fab World.

* Kimmers is hosting a sketch challenge. Make a card based on her sketch. You might win a prize pack from her.

* Julie is on the CK Blog, sharing some tips for stretching your craft supplies and a couple rad-tastic cards. Comment over there for a chance to win a copy of Holiday Cards & More. Vol. 7.

* In honor of WCMD, Jennifer is giving away a slot in an upcoming class from Online Card Classes.

* Studio Calico and Ellen Hutson have some great challenges up. Check out Studio Calico’s here. And check out Ellen’s here.

* Scrapbook.com has a fun little World Card Making Day promotion happening, too!  And Simon Says Stamp! does as well.

* And Operation Write Home is having a blog hop in honor of the day and all the heroes out there. Here’s the list of hoppers. (I’m one of them. My post is a few below this one.)

Well, must get back to making cards so I’ll be back later, gators!

World Card Making Day: Giveaway (10-6)

Hello again to all my card making friends out there!

Fancy meeting you here. 🙂

How about a little old fashioned blog candy giveaway in honor of World Card Making Day?

OK! It’s a deal!

What’s up for grabs is everything you see above: a set of Technique Tuesday stamps (one of my favorite sets!); a couple embellishments from Zva Creative and a set of Soup Labels from Jillibean Soup. These are all things I personally love for card making.

Leave a comment for me by midnight on Sunday (10-7), and I’ll pick one of you to win.

Be back again in a bit.

World Card Making Day Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to kick off my World Card Making Day festivities by joining the good folks from Operation Write Home for a blog hop!

Woo-to-the-hoo!

So with that, meet today’s card.

I based this one on one of OWH’s sketches. Sketch 113 to be exact. 😉

Used a couple Technique Tuesday stamp sets on it: Be Jolly and Jingle All the Way by Ali Edwards.

Purposely went with a non-traditional color palette. Because sometimes I just enjoy breaking from the norm.

Thanks for swinging by. And thank to OWH for letting me join their hop!

Have a wonderful World Card Making Day! I hope you all are able to make LOTS of cards!

Today’s card (10-5)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

It’s a recent publication reject-o and uses a couple stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp (Stylish Simon and Talking about You stamp and die set.)

The paper is from Lily Bee. The gem is from the stash-a-roo!

Don’t forget that Saturday is World Card Making Day!

There is going to be a whole lot happenings over on Paper Crafts Connection. I hear Holly has been working to hard to fill the day with blog posts. Be sure to check it out. It would mean a lot to her to hear from you.

And, if you hang out on Twitter, please use the hashtag #worldcardmakingday at some point Saturday! There’s another Paper Crafts editor I know who has big dreams of seeing it show up … A LOT… on Saturday. BIG, BIG dreams.

I’ll be back a few times tomorrow in honor of World Card Making Day! Hope you all are able to make some cards tomorrow.

See you again soon!

GCD Studios: Treats for the School

Here’s a spooky yet fun treat for the kids to take to school and hand out to all the other little goblins and ghouls on Halloween: lollipops disguised as jack-o-lanterns.

To make these spookalicious little guys, you are going to need:

  • some lollipops
  • a couple different sheets of patterned paper (from GCD Studios, of course!)
  • cardstock
  • string
  • adhesive, scissors

Start by cutting an orange or gold patterned paper (I’m using the backside of the Heirloom paper from the Splendor collection) into a couple 6″ squares.

Fold the paper into a triangle.

Fold it again and again.

Unfold it. Set it aside.

Wrap a piece of brown paper around the lollipop’s stick. (Note: I used a piece of two-way tape to hold it down.)

Set the lollipop on your piece of patterned paper.

Fold the paper up, crinkling it as you go. Make sure it fully covers the lollipop.

Tie a piece of jute or string around the crumbled paper panel. Be sure to finish it with a pretty bow.

Set it aside and cut two leaves from green patterned paper. These don’t have to be pretty. Just imagine you are cutting a rain drop. Once you’ve cut two of them, snip a triangle out of one end.

Place the leaves on your pumpkin. Use a little liquid glue to hold them in place.

Freehand cut a face from black cardstock. Adhere it to your pumpkin with glue.

By freehand cutting the face, you’ll get a different looking pumpkin every time.

And for added variation, use different patterned papers on other lollipops.

Supplies: Heirloom paper – Splendor; Floral Frame paper – Splendor; Swirling paper – Flower Child; Groovy paper – Flower Child

Happy haunting!

Teri Anderson 2012 GCD Studios DT, Teri Anderson 2012 GCD Studios Card Gal

Today’s card (10-3)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

Made this one quite awhile back and never got around to sharing it.

The green butterflies were die-cut from green duct tape adhered to cardstock and then layered a few times. A bit unconventional. A whole lot on the fun side.

The papers here are from Crate Paper. And the little clip is from Pebbles.

Speaking of cards, have you been checking out Moxie Fab World this week? There’s a whole host of good, old-fashioned card making challenges going on. Lots of fun to be had. And all are in honor of World Card Making Day (the card making holiday for card makers started by Paper Crafts magazine), which just happens to be on Saturday.

Alright. That i’ all for now. Be back later, friends. Hoping today is dang good in your world!

See you again soon. 🙂
