25 in 25: Day 8 (11-19)

Hi all!

Another day in the 25 in 25 challenge.

Just a whole little mess of little things here: die cuts from Pink Paislee; a tree stamp & die from Simon Says Stamp!; a joy word stamp from Paper Smooches’ Joyful Greetings set; and a bit of this and a bit of that.

Can’t wait to see what Ashley’s made for Day 8 of the challenge.  Be sure to check out her blog today, too.

See you again tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by today, all!

In Honor of the Handmade Holidays Event… (11-18)

Hi guys!

Got a couple cards for you today in honor of the Handmade Holidays Event going on at The Twinery. Today culminates the event, which features over 175 holiday projects being shared over 3 days.

To learn more about the event, hit The Twinery’s blog. Lots of cool stuff to see.

I’m happy to be using some products today from a couple of the companies participating in the event: The Twinery; Fiskars and Tombow.

So enough chat, let’s get on with the cards, shall we?! 🙂

Meet  Card. No. 1.

The white and silver sparkly tags were so fun to make. Here’s what I did.

I punched a snowflake out of paper with a punch from Fiskars. (white and silver)

Then, I took a larger tag punch and lined it up to frame the snowflake.

The end result was something like this.

Which eventually became this. 🙂

And here’s Card No. 2.

I often get asked how I get the twine to stay down on my page.

Here’s a little trick. I love using Tombow’s Mono Multi adhesive for it. Love it.

I squirt a little on scratch paper.

Then, I just bring the scratch paper under the twine and gently brush it onto the twine by sliding it & the glue under the twine.

Works like a charm!

That’s all for now. Be sure to comment on The Twinery’s Blog and check out the Handmade Holidays Event.

Lots of prizes up for grabs, including a package of 3 spools of twine from The Twinery (winner’s choice what colors!)!

Ps… Wondering what’s up with 25 in 25 for today?

Well, I’m counting today’s cards as a combined #7 for my take on the challenge. Cool with that, Ashley? 😉

25 in 25: Day 6 (11-17)

Hi friends!

Here we go again.

Meet today’s card (and No. 5 in 25 in 25)!

I again whipped out some die cuts from  the City Sidewalks collection from Pink Paislee and went to town. Kind of fun to just gently dabble in the vintage but not too vintage/shabby look.

The “joy” word is a stamp from the Joyful Greetings stamp set from Paper Smooches. Used a pencil to add a little color to middle of the letters.

Everything else is from my stash.

Can’t wait too what Ashley has cooked up for Day 6.

Be back tomorrow.

25 in 25: Day 5 (11-16)

One-fifth of the way through 25 in 25.

So meet today’s card (and No. 5)!

The paper and dies are from the City Sidewalks collection from Pink Paislee. Lovely, happy stuff.

The words are a stamp from the Joyful Greetings stamp set from Paper Smooches. It’s a bit hard to tell but the “i” in believe has a red gem on top of it. I like to do that… a lot.

Everything else is from the old stash-a-roo.

Be sure to check out Ashley’s blog to see her Day 5 card.

See you again tomorrow.

25 in 25: Day 4 meets Avocado Arts (11-15)

Hi guys!

I’m on Day 4 of my 25 in 25 posts.

Today’s is going to be a little different. Decided to combine it with a card for a joint project post with the Avocado Arts crew.

So… let’s get on with the show. 🙂

This card is truly a mixed bag, using stamps from Avocado Arts’ Very Merry Season and their coming soon stamp set for December. The penguin, snowflakes and scarf are from that set. 😉  I went a little crazy on using stamps from the new set.

As many of you know, I brake for wiggle eyes. 😉 So I just had to add some to Mr. & Mrs. Penguin. Just. Had. To.

So that does it. That’s day4 for ya!

To see more Avocado Arts projects with Very Merry Season  and December’s stamp set, head to the blogs of all these great chicks:

And, of course, Avocado Arts. Be sure to tell them howdy just because. 🙂 It would make their day.

Oh yeah, and be sure to comment when you stop by the blogs!

Avocado Arts will be choosing some random folks from comments made on all the blogs for these mini stamp sets.

The winners will be announced on the Avocado Arts blog and Facebook page.

See you again later.

Technique Tuesday: Greenhouse Society (11-15)

Hi all!

It’s the 15th so I’m playing with the new Greenhouse Society stamp set from Technique Tuesday.
So meet today’s card.

All the stamping on the tag was completed with the November Greenhouse Society stamp set. It will go on sale later today on the Technique Tuesday web site. Watch for it. 🙂
The words on mat are from the Magic of Christmas by Ali Edwards stamp set, also from TT. Just a simple way to add a little visual interest.

Tis all for now. Be back again later, gators!

25 in 25: Day 3 (11-14)

Hi all!

And we meet again!

For Day 3 of the 25 in 25 challenge, I again used the  the Trees for the Season die & stamp set from Simon Says Stamp!

Cut out two trees, did a little stamping and then stacked them together and added some gems. Easy peasy.

I again pulled out the Holiday Folded Banners die & stamp set from Simon Says Stamp! to make the sentiment banner. Yes, I am addicted. 😉

I also die-cut the star background with another SSS! die, the Falling Stars one. This is the first of many workouts this guy is going to get when it comes to my cards.

Don’t miss what Ashley cooked up for the challenge today.

And don’t miss Paper Crafts Connection. I’m over there with a post…. and a giveaway for a big, big prize in honor of Die Cutting for Paper Crafters. (Thanks to my secret editor partner-in-crime who made this awesome prize happen. Yes, secret editor. I do like you, a lot.)

And, yep, it’s ones of those bomb-diggity kind of prizes.

Be back again tomorrow, friends!

25 in 25: Day 2

Day 2 of the 25 in 25 Challenge is on. 🙂

So meet today’s card.

I once again whipped out the Trees for the Season die & stamp set from Simon Says Stamp!
A whole lotta fun to set up a bunch of trees on a snowy hill!
For good measure, I added a little sparkle with some glitter glue and pearls and gems.

I also whipped out the Holiday Folded Banners die & stamp set from Simon Says Stamp! to make the sentiment banner. I dig it so much. Such a great set for holiday cards.

Alright, so that’s all I have got.
Be sure to check out Ashley’s blog to see what she has cooked up for day 2.
Be back again tomorrow, friends! Have a fantastic day!

Ps… Don’t forget to check out Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World this week. The folks at Paper Crafts magazine are celebrating the new Die Cutting for Paper Crafters special issue.

In fact, I hear there’s going to be a pretty nice post on Paper Crafts Connection on Wednesday from a certain Go-to Gal. Oh… wait. I said too much. (Evil laugh…. haahahahahhahah!)

25 in 25: Day 1 (11-12)

Hi all!

Today marks the first day of a challenge with my friend, Ashley. She had an idea to make 25 holiday or winter-themed cards in 25 days and asked me if I’d be up for the challenge.

I quickly decided I was a game and going to give it a shot.

So meet today’s card… and my first take on the 25 in 25 challenge.

I used a couple different stamp and die sets from Simon Says Stamp! for this one: Holiday Folded Banners & Trees for the Season.

I did a little fancy schmanzy doctoring work to the trees. I added a little bit of twine, a button, some gems and a punched heart (I used a really old Paper Shapers punch… someone… anyone… bring itty bitty hearts back, pretty please.).

The twine is from The Twinery and the paper is from Echo Park Paper.

That’s all I’ve got for you today. Not another ounce of anything else.

Be sure to check out Ashley’s blog to see her take for the first day of the challenge.

See you again soon!
