May Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

Yep! It’s a good day for another Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday!

The crew is playing around this month with Heartfelt by Ali Edwards, the Studio AE stamp set for May.

Technique-Tuesday-Heartfelt-Ali-Edwards-Clear-Stamps-MediumI decided to go the card route this month. Ali’s stamps are so graphic that I really wanted to challenge myself this month and try to go with a more homespun, shabby look.

I took the same “heart” you stamp and stamped it over and over on different pieces of paper. Then I cut, cut and cut some more.

I also over-stamped on some of the pieces of paper some words from her All My Love set on top. (Check out those cream hearts. You can see it there.)

I also added a few homespun touches: some stitches; some gems and a bit of twine. Again, just to kinda play on the shabby, homespun side.

Pretty fun!

Be sure to check out everyone taking part in the hop today:

(Please beware that our team is in different time zones, so someone might not have their links up yet today. Sometimes, it gets a little confusing with the timing.)

We’ll give away a prize to one person who comments during the hop!

Someone will get a $25 gift certificate. The winner will be announced on the 15th on the Technique Tuesday blog.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Cool, creative card! Like the stamps on printed papers and your sketch. For some unknown reason, the frames make me think of an artsy comic strip look. … and that’s a good thing! 🙂

  2. Your finished card turned out awesome! I’m always a big fan of the paper pieced look–Love how you kept a couple without though to mix it up. 🙂

  3. This is just awesome, love the stamping on patterned paper…would love to try this with one of the larger stamps, on a layout! Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. ❤ this! I love how you cut out some the hearts and left some intact! This card has such a great graphic feel to it! Thanks for showing me the way to the hop! I had a blast!

  5. Love this grid design! Love your touches of twine, and your idea to cut the hearts out and make use of the different patterns. TFS!

  6. I am drawn to both hearts and a clean and graphic look so you can imagine I was very drawn to this card. Thanks for sharing with us!

  7. The graphic look of the card is wonderful. So many color combinations would work here that it becomes perfect for every occasion.

  8. Your card is home spun but colorful too. I do like the stamped cream hearts that say All My Love and the gems and twine are a perfect touch. Thank you for sharing!!

  9. Great card! Love the colors, and how you did something a little different with each repeated element. And can’t go wrong with the woodgrain background (I’m totally loving that right now!)
