MFT Countdown: Day 2

Hi all!

Thanks to all of you who stopped by yesterday. So excited to guest with My Favorite Things this month. (Thanks again, MFT, for asking!)

So I’ve got another project to share with you today.

This one uses the new Stripes Cover-Up Die-namics die and BB Every Day is a Picnic stamp set (and coordinating BB Every Day is a Picnic Die-namics dies). Alright. ¬†Pressure. (Breathe, Teri. Breathe.) Here we go. ūüėČ

I also used the new Pierced Fishtails Flags Stax Die-namics to cut the flag for the sentiment.

Look really close at the background and you’ll see that Stripes Cover-Up Die-namics plate. I cut it with three colors of cardstock and then staggered them to create ¬†a multi-tone background.

The process went a bit like this.

Cut three Cover-Up plates.

Layer two together.

And then layer the third and get something like this.

Kinda fun, right? And imagine doing that will all kinds of different colors of cardstock.

To see more peeks from the new release, be sure to hit the My Favorite Things blog. You’ll find links to all the MFT designers who are sharing projects today.

Be back again tomorrow.

And thanks again for stopping by, y’all!

MFT Countdown: Day 1

Hi all!

I’m so pumped and so honored to be joining the folks from My Favorite Things as a¬†guest designer in June.

(And you guys want to know a secret?¬†I totally cried when they asked a few months ago. Such an honor. I’ve admired MFT for years. They have ¬†top-notch, high quality products and just plain good designs.¬†Such, such an honor to get to play with their team this month!)

So the long and the short of it is consider yourselves warned. You are going to be seeing some posts of the next few days, featuring some of MFT new¬†products for June. And, gosh golly, I’m excited to share what I’ve made with you! ūüôā

So I’ve got a couple projects to show you¬†today. They both use MFT’s new Pierced Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics and the Together Forever stamp set.

Meet card #1.

I die-cut all those flags using the new Die-namics set.

This card is really the result of messing around and discovering that I could make a fun little pattern with the flags.

And here is card #2.

It’s kinda the same idea, but it’s little different twist. ¬†I thought it looked pretty cool stacking the different flags together.

You might notice  some of the flags on these two cards are open. I achieved that look by doing some double-cutting.

I simply placed a larger die onto a piece of cardstock and then placed a smaller one inside it. To keep them in place as I ran them through my die-cutting machine, I slapped on a little washi tape.

The end result was something like this.

I thought it was a pretty cool look! And I must admit it was pretty addicting to cut the flags this way. I ended up with a whole pile of them to use on future projects… hee!

Be back again tomorrow.

Today’s Card (6-1)

Hello again!

Was messing around, working on another project. Had some supplies on my table and decided to whip up this little card while I was it.

Everything on it is from Simple Stories. Most of the things are it are from their Good Day Sunshine collection. A few little things on it are from the DIY collection. I am a fan of both and thought was pretty cool how easy they mix and match together.

Hope you are having a good Sunday! I’ve been¬†putting off¬†running a few errands (and mowing… my favorite. Do you hear that sarcasm? Hee!) that I need to do. I suppose I should do them before it gets too late.

I’ll be back again later, gators.
