MFT Countdown: 4

Hey all!

Whew! Here we are again. Another day. Another something fun made with the July release from My Favorite Things to share.

Oh the pressure. 😉 Let’s do this.

Say hello to today’s project!

Ta-da! 🙂

So how did I make that pink + black + hot pink paper element?  Well, well. Let me tell you.

I used the brand new Square Grid Cover-Up (available on July 8th). This die consists of one really big rectangle with 12 little squares inside it. I cut it three times (from pink, hot pink and black cardstocks). I removed the squares and then stacked the frames onto top of each other, moving them slightly to make the design. I adhered them to white cardstock, cut out the paper design and used it like patterned paper.

Imagine trying this “DIY patterned paper” technique out with some different color combinations. I think orange + green + blue would be fun. So would some hot colors like pink + orange + hot pink.

I used a sentiment on my card from the new Birthday Chalkboard Greetings clear stamp set (also available on July 8th).

I carried through the design of my card to the inside. I had some of my “DIY patterned paper” left so I somewhat repeated the design on the inside.

Once again, I used a sentiment from the Birthday Chalkboard Greetings set.

And there you have it.

The products I used on today’s project were:

* Square Grid Cover-up Die-namics (available July 8th)

* Birthday Chalkboard Greetings clear stamp set (available July 8th)

* Star from Tag Builder Blueprints 1 (available July 8th)

* Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics

Thanks for stopping by, friends!

MFT Countdown: 5

Hello again!

I’m here with some more projects made with My Favorite Things’ July release, which lands July 8th.

On your mark. Get set. Ummm. Go! 🙂

Ok, so I had a super good time cooking up today’s projects to share with you.  I got to use the new Tag Builder Blueprints 1 Die-namics. Oh my gosh, you guys. They are so fun. Check these treat bags out.

I die-cut all the elements (other than the balloon) for them with the new Tag Builder Blueprints 1 Die-namics. The balloon was cut with a die from the Balloon Stax Die-namics.

I cut the circle for this tag and the double cut the 4U out of it with the dies. The text on the black cardstock? I stamped that with the new Happy Birthday Background stamp.

I did somewhat the same thing with the circle on this tag, only I decided to do it with one of the small balloons from the Balloon STAX.

It’s super subtle, but I also used the Happy Birthday Background stamp to stamp words on the pink panel with white pink.

These little tags make such fun little decorations to add to a party favor. I simply filled some bags with candy and just tied them on. Easy peasy. I think these would even make fun little gifts for office mates.

I also made a tag using the dies to dress up a Mason jar gift.

Every single thing I used to make the tag is from the Tag Builder Blueprints 1 Die-namics. I am particularly fond of the circle I used on the black panel. That’s because it cuts all these cool super little circles. I love the look.

Fun, huh?

The supplies I used for today’s projects were:

* Tag Builder Blueprints 1 Die-namics (available July 8th)

* Happy Birthday Background stamp (available July 8th)

* Balloon STAX Die-namics (available July 8th)

MFT Countdown: 6

Hi friends!

It’s another day of counting down to My Favorite Things’  July release. Holy smokes! I can’t believe I’m here. 🙂

So I’m excited to share with you something non-card like that I made with MFT’s new Cupcake Stand Die-namics (available July 8th).

Kinda fun, right?

So I made the cupcake stand with the dies. And get this?! I totally used plain old cardstock. Yep. No chipboard. Nothing fancy. Just plain old cardstock.

Because of the way the dies are designed, they are able to hold up quite a bit of cupcake weight.

To make my stand extra fancy, I cut two tops and stacked them together. I kinda love that layered look that comes by mixing together the white and black cardstock.

When you die-cut the stand’s top plate, you’ll see it scored the the little lines so those flaps folder over nice and easy. That really helped to make this come together quickly. I also added a few pearls to it make it just a bit more girlie girl’ish.

Now, let’s talk about my cupcake. I sauced that baby up with the help of some other products from MFT.

I made a couple flags used my beloved Pierced Fishtail STAX Die-namics and wrapped them around toothpicks. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the new Birthday Wishes stamp set, which is part of the July release.

And the star is from the Blueprints 16 Die-namics dies. I poked two holes through it and the slid the toothpick through it. Then I adhered a white pearl right in the middle of it.

Be sure to check the MFT Blog to see what all the other MFT designers are sharing today.

By the way, the supplies I used from MFT for today’s project were:

* Cupcake Stand Die-namics (available July 8th)

* Sweet Birthday Wishes stamp set (available July 8th)

* Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics

* Blueprints 16 Die-namics

MFT Countdown: 7

Hi everyone!

Super pumped to be joining the My Favorite Things crew this month!

Kicking off things today with the crew and the MFT Countdown to the July release.

Since it needs to be said, “Breathe, Teri. Breathe.”

Ok. We’re good. 😉

Here’s what  I cooked up to share with you today.

I created this chalkboard inspired card with a couple new My Favorite Things products – the Blueprints 17 Die-namics dies and the  Birthday Chalkboard Greetings clear stamp set. (They will both be available on July 8th.)

To create the chalkboard look, I heat embossed the sentiment on the black cardstock panel with white embossing powder. Then liberally sponged white ink around the edges of the panel. It’s messy good, but I like it… muchly! 🙂

So how did I create that banner? It was came together pretty quick with the Blueprints 17 dies. The process went a bit like this.

I cut three flags with folded flag dies. The cool thing about those dies? They’ve got a score line right in the middle so the flags fold really easily.

I also cut a small flag and a star with the dies. You’ll see there are two stars. Rather than breaking them apart, I decided to keep them connected so I didn’t lose one of them. At some point, I might use my snips to break them apart but they are good together for now. 😉

Then I set out a line of floss of floss. I spread glue in the middle of the flags and folded the flags onto the floss.

To really make sure the glue set, I used a clip to hold them in place.  A clothespin would have done the job too!

Then I added the small white flag and the star to the middle flag.

And to really sauce things up,  I threw on a few gems too.

And there you have it.
