STAMPtember Blog Hop

Stamptember-Blog-Hop-600x150

Hi all!

Well, well, well… what a fun day! My friends over at Simon Says Stamp! invited me to make something with some of their new STAMPtember products and share it as part of their STAMPtember Blog Hop.

So yeah. You know me. Any reason to get crafty? I’m pretty much there. So yeah. Here I am. AND DUDE! I am PUMPED!

And again. You know me. I couldn’t stop at one thing. I made a couple things to share with you today. Consider yourselves warned. (Hee!)  Here we go.

Meet card #1.

sssbhop_givingthanks1_teri

The green panel was cut with the new Giving Thanks die. And those feathers? Well, I decided to use them more as a graphic element than traditional feathers. And how did I make them? Well, I stamped and cut them with the Thanksgiving Table stamp set  and Thanksgiving Feast dies.

Meet card #2.

SSSbhop_thanks_teri

This time, I whipped out the new Thanks Card die.  I die-cut it three times (from gray, green and blue cardstocks). I sponged on the star pattern (from the Mosaic Stars pattern stencil) with blue ink. And then I did some stacking.

I stacked the green panel onto the gray panel, allowing just a little bit of gray to peek out.

sssbhop_step1_teri

Then I cut off part of the blue Thanks Card panel like so.

sssbhop_step2_teri

I adhered the whole lot together and ended up with a little something like this.

sssbhop_thanks2_teri

By the way, I set a little bit of white cardstock behind the open space. I also used foam tape to adhere the Thanks Card panel down, which really gave it a lot of extra depth.

sssbhop_step3_teri

I love that popped look.

I also made some journaling cards to share with you today. Say what?! Sure,  I make a lot of cards but I’m also pretty passionate about pocket page memory keeping. And I was totally geeked out to realize that both the Giving Thanks and Thanks Card dies can be used with pocket pages. They are just the right size to slide into a pocket.

sssbhop_thanksjournalingcards_teri

I always like to make some journaling cards ahead of time so that I can later pull them out and put them in my scrapbooks when I really am in the scrapbooking zone. Besides the Giving Thanks and Thanks Card dies, I used Simon’s new Thanksgiving Table stamp set and Thanksgiving Feast dies to make these.

And, just for comparison, I slid one of my journaling cards into a pocket page so you can get an idea of how they fit.

So that’s what I have!

The next stop on the hop is that of the lovely Kathy Racoosin. Take it away, Kathy!

Oh yeah, wait a minute! Leave a comment on my post here. That’s because one of you is going to score a prize package from Simon Says Stamp! 60. Such neat cards. And I’m glad you used the feathers in such and interesting way on the Giving Thanks card…those are definitely on my “must have” list.

  61. Love your style! You have really showcased the potential of these dies 🙂 Love the green graphic first card and the stacked dies on the second – so clever!

  71. Great cards, great dies! I love seeing dies used, because it inspires me to use them more! Thanks for sharing.

  73. This may be a little unorthodox, but I LOVE the way you used simple black lines around the card features, and then little bling here and there on the line…wish i had that much artistic eye to pull that off. TFS

  74. Oh wow, these are amazing – Love them !! Also, thanks for the tip on the pocket cards – I would never have thought of that, but now I know and will be grabbing those for sure. Thank you for sharing

  75. So many things you made, you definitely had some fun with the dies. But it’s to be expected, those dies are really something and they can be used later on the year for other projects, not just for the holidays. I love that you shared the journaling cards, so far, nobody has shown other use for those dies asides from card making. Tfs!

  76. Both of these cards are amazing! I love the color combos that you used and the creative way that you used the stamps and dies!

  77. Great selection of cards today Terri. Loved them all but that first one really stole my heart. Love the way you die cut those leaves and placed them over top of the word cut die. I think what stands out is the amazing color selection of yours today. They just pop and scream “I am here!” Love how the dies leave a white edge around the stamped area. Super cool. Thanks for sharing.

  98. What lovely cards! I like the best the first one, more graphic, but I also adore the poket one, especially the one with the pumpkins and the one with the nuts! they’re so cute! Thanks to SSS for this blog hop and for the giveaway too!

  99. I thought those “graphic elements” on the “Giving Thanks” card were originally chafes of wheat… I should’ve realized they were supposed to be feathers, LOL! 🙂

  100. I thought the same as Heather Loughlin. You really made those feathers look like wheat. Just the right colour combination for an autumn card! I love those journalling cards too (journalling is my passion) Thanks for sharing and thanks for this wonderful opportunity to win those gorgeous items from SSS!

  101. You know, Heather, I think they would totally pass for it! You’ve inspired me to give it a whirl! Going to whip out my yellow ink pad and see what I can do!
