So enough with the technical stuff. Let’s talk project.

Here’s what I have for you.

Birthday Wishes card by Teri

The words, heart and adorable critters are from the new We Adore You stamp set. And adore it I do. 🙂 It’s a fun set of different critters grouped together and then great cardmaker phrases to use with them.

I wanted to create a soft, somewhat muted card so I stamped the critters and hearts with black ink first onto scratch paper. Then I stamped them again (without reinking) onto the rectangle panel. I like how it gave them that nice gray tone. I added some light shading to them with the help of a Fantastix coloring stick from Tsukineko.

The pink background was created with the help of the Squared die, while the frame was created with the Scallop Frame dies.

OK, so that is what I have for you today. Thanks, as always, for stopping by! I always appreciate your kind words. Have a great day, guys!

  1. I have to admit that background reminded me of the room separators you would see in older 1960’s house’s (totally showing my age here). Excellent card!

  2. fantastic color scheme –love that background die and how you paired it with a woodgrain background, too. those critters are especially cute with those hats!!! tfs!

  3. Ok, you’ve done it. You’ve made PS creatures even cuter! I’ll be getting out my topper stamps & dies and put a hat on everybody!! Can’t wait to see the whole release.

  4. Aww, look at those sweet little faces. If like my critters, they’re trying to hide some mess they’ve made 🙂 Really like the pink and gray color scheme too!

  5. You’ve married each and every part of your creation very well. It has a brilliant look to it…. the brilliant part coming from you. Great job.

  6. Maybe muted but with moxie! So the new characters of We Adore You come in groupings? Can’t wait to see the whole shebang.

  7. Cute card and I love the background using the die. Paper Smooches always has such cute designs, making it easier when you need the perfect cute card.

  8. Even with your card being for a birthday, I thought the dogs look like detectives on the scene! Reminded me of the old shows….for this old nostalgic woman.

  9. The idea to use muted tones for the animals was a great one! It really gets your attention and gives the impression you are looking at them through a window. The overall design is very well done and I’m glad you participated in the Blog Hop! 🙂

  10. SUPER CUTE card Teri 🙂
You have taken the AWESOME squared die and made it ADORABLE with your PRETTY layers!!!
