Yep. I’m back. But of course! 😉
We’re so, so close to the November release from My Favorite Things, and I’m in a sharing kind of mood. I’ve got a couple more cards to share with you that I made with stuff from the new release.
5… 4… 3… 2… BLASTOFF!
Please meet card #1.
I really, really, really would like to tell you some fancy story about this card coming together. You know, the kind of story that leaves you saying, “Dude. She is a GODDESS when it comes to this card making stuff.” You know the kind of story that has you, you know, ready to throw glitter in the air and wave your hands like you just don’t care.
But yeah. I got nothing.
The long and the short of it? This card just happened. I was really digging the new Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics dies (designed by sweet … and a whole lot of sassy… Laina Lamb) and just started playing with them to see what I could do. Hence, I ended up with that little cup you see on the card. The only thing really fancy schmanzy about it is I sponged on a little ink at the bottom, just to make it pop a little. I liked the cup so much though that I was like…. it’s going on a card. And so that’s what I did: I put it on a card.
You might be wondering about the pink square. I used the same die (from the new Stitched Pinking Edge STAX Die-namics) that I cut the other squares with. I cut it from felt.
And meet card #2.
Technically, it’s not really a card. It’s a pocket. But you’ll live. 😉
The pocket was pretty simple to make. The process went a bit like this.
Cut a 4 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock. Set on a scoring board. Score at the 5″ mark.
Ink up a background stamp. (I used the new Bold Diagonal Stripes Background stamp.) Set paper on it. Transfer pattern to portion of the pocket that will be at the front of it.
A little Teri secret for you: I always use a stamping block to help transfer the pattern. It just helps me get a more even impression than with just my hands. (And side note: Do you know how difficult it is to snap a photo while trying to do this? Oh. My. Goodness. Lean in close, friends. Bad words may have been whispered.)
Then after I did that stamping thing, I added some two way tape on the sides of the front flap and put things together. The result? A fancy little pocket.

I always love what you create….also loved your tip using the acrylic block. I have used a brayer to do the same thing and that works well for me….but, you probably already knew that. Thanks for sharing your talent.
