Birthday Card Challenge No. 6

Hi, guys!

Another day. Another birthday card for the challenge with Ashley.

A stamped birthday card by Teri || terisplace,

Pulled from my scrap pile to make this guy. Use some scrap papers from a couple of the new lines of paper from Jillibean Soup.  And the stamps and the words are also from Jillibean.BirthdayBalloonCard2--teri

The balloon works well on shaker cards, but I wanted to stretch myself and try something else. I fashioned my own balloon by cutting a couple circles with some Jillibean dies. I also added the flag (also cut with Jillibean dies) and embellishments to it. Think it turned out kinda fun!

I did something I like to do a lot: I stamped a sentiment on a cardstock strip, added a little twine to it and then adhered it to my card with foam tape. Easy peasy… and fun.

Alright. That’s it for now. Be sure to hit Ashley’s blog to see her latest birthday card!

Birthday Card Challenge No. 4

Hi gang!

Back to the Birthday Card Challenge game with Ashley. We took a few days off to do stuff. She watched basketball… and stuff. I did a couple 5ks… and stuff.

But we are back now. So here’s my latest birthday card for the challenge. A stamped birthday card by Teri //

I have a thing for space stuff so I couldn’t resist making a card with the Beam Me Up stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn. Seriously, they are just so cute.

The first thing I did was create the space-y background. I created by sponge a bunch of ink colors on white cardstock. Then I added some black color to the mix.

I spritzed the panel with a light misting of water and then a light spritzing of white spray mist. I let it dry and then added the little stamped and die-cut elements.EarthlingBirthdayCard2-Teri

To give my aliens a little extra personality, I added a few extra dots with black Nuvo Crystal Drops on some of them and a wiggle eye on the middle one. I also added a few dots with my pens.

Finished the card off with the sentiment and a few stamped stars. I colored them in with a white pen and added a few additional white dots.

Anyhoo, that’s what I got. Be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see her take on the challenge today.

Be back tomorrow.

FEBRUARY is Paper Smooches’ Anniversary month, They are celebrating 6 years of good stuff!  Be prepared for a TON of fun all through the month of February!

OK. Enough hop-talk-a-roo… and all that jazz.

Here’s the project I cooked up to share with you.

A card created with clear stamps and steel dies from Paper Smooches //

I made this bad boy with the new Let’s Celebrate stamp set and coordinating steel dies. Balloons are pretty much “the thing” when it comes to celebrations and this stamp set is packed with them. You agree?

To make a couple of the balloons stand out, I stamped a heart and then plopped in the middle of them. It’s just… kinda… fun. I think.

I love that stamped word especially. Looks so cool when cut out with the coordinating die. To cut it out, I stamped the word and then placed the die on top. To keep the die from moving when I ran it through my Big Shot, I plopped on a little sticky note tape. It’s strong enough to hold the die in place and yet removable so no ink gets removed.

Alright, friends. That’s it for now. I’ll be again soon!

Julie’s 50th Birthday Celebration Blog Hop (1-30)

Ever have one of those days when you can’t wipe the crazy smile off your face?

Today is one those days because it is this lovely lady’s birthday, and I’m taking part in a special blog hop in honor of her!

Yep. Word on the street is Julie’s celebrating the big 5…0 today. Must be in dog years, ya know. Because … man… I tell ya… 😉 🙂

Anyway, happy, happy birthday, Julie! You are truly one of the kindest, nicest people I’ve ever met. And you are one amazing card maker to boot!

In honor of your big day, I made this card just for you.

Just in case you are wondering what stamp set I used here, it’s Old Faithful. 😉 I mean, Bright Idea from Technique Tuesday.

Did a little bit of heat embossing to make the lamp shades. Then tossed on some gems and pearls. And… just for good measure…. added a stamped, embossed and fussy cut heart, too!

Ok, that’s all I have got! Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Julie!

Next stop on the hop is the blog of the lovely Julia! Take it away, Julia!

By the way, if you get lost during the hop, head to the CLASSroom for a list of everyone taking part in the hop.  (And, friends, please consider leaving a birthday wish or two… or three… or four… over there for Julie, too!)
