Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop – 6

Coffee-Lovers-Blog-Hop-10

Hi, guys!

The cards just keep coming. Yessss! 🙂

I was inspired yet again by the latest Coffee Lovers Blog Hop to make today’s card.

I once again whipped out the Thanks a Latte stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn. It’s such a cute set! creamtomycoffeecard1-teri

I stamped and die-cut the mugs, scarves and heart. I colored them in with markers and then set them aside.

I sponged some blue ink onto a card in a circle. I added the cups and hearts to it, and then stamped the snowflakes, steam and sentiments.

creamtomycoffeecard2-teri

For a finishing touch, I added a few white drops with my white Nuvo Crystal Drops. I sure like it adds to cards…. and yet…. still keeps your cards relatively flat and easily mailable.

Alrighty. This post is short and sweet… and all I have. I’ll be back again later, gators.

Don’t forget to check out the hop. So many wonderful projects have been linked up so far. So…. stinking… many. If you love coffee, cocoa or tea, this hop is worth checking out!

Technique Tuesday Release Day!

New-Release-Countdown-Release-Day

Hi, guys!

It’s Release Day at Technique Tuesday.  I’m here to show you a couple new projects today that feature the new Bubbles on the Border die, plus some of the other new stamps.

So let’s do this. Meet card no. 1.

A stamped card by Teri | terisplace,wordpress,com

I used the border die to add the bubbly border to the top of my card. And then I took a few of the circles to add “bubbles” to my scene, which was created with the new Simon & Sandy Seahorse stamp set and dies.

Swimming-Seahorse-Card-Teri-A-Close-Technique-Tuesday

You’ll see I also added a few clear bubbles to the scene. Added those bad boys with Glossy Accents. 😉

And meet card no. 2.

A stamped card by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

For this one, I created a bubbly background of sorts by cutting the border out of three pieces of cardstock and then layering them together. It’s so not how TT intended to use these dies, but I’m one who likes to go against the grain sometimes when it comes to paper craft stuff. I think it turned out pretty fun actually.

Alright! So that’s what I have for you. Be sure to hit the Technique Tuesday blog to see who else from the design team is sharing projects today. And be sure to visit the Technique Tuesday website to see all the new goods.

Thanks for stopping by!

Technique Tuesday July Countdown: Day 2

New-Release-Countdown-Day-2

Hi, guys!

Back again to share another Technique Tuesday project as TT gears up for their new release on Sunday.

Today’s card features new Happy Hydrangea stamp set and dies from their Greenhouse Society collection.

Hi-Friend-Label-Flower-Card-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

This is a really pretty stamp set. It includes some little flowers that you can stamp elsewhere on your card, or you can stamp again and add to the bigger bloom.

It has an interesting effect on the bigger grouping of flowers.

Just for show, here’s how the big bloom looks without the little flowers.

Hi-Friend-Label-Flower-Card-Close-2-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

And here’s how it looks with them.

Hi-Friend-Label-Flower-Card-Close-1-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

The cool thing is there is no real rhyme or reason to the little flowers so you can basically get away with placing as many or as few as you want… and wherever you want them.

Alrighty. That’s all I have for today. Be sure to hit the Technique Tuesday blog to see the products being revealed today and to see whoelse from the design team is sharing projects today.

Also be sure to visit the Technique Tuesday website to see all (and snag) all the new products.

Today’s card (6-10)

Hi, guys!

Back on the blog with another stamped card. Because I like to make cards… and I like to share them with you! 🙂

Meet today’s card.

A stamped card by Teri featuring Lawn Fawn

When I saw the new Critter Concert stamp set from Lawn Fawn, I knew I “had” to make a card with it. Cute animals? Check. Cute animals with instruments? Check. Scene potential? Over. The. Top.

All the stamping on the card was done with stamps in the stamp set. I didn’t get the dies so I did things the old school way. Yep. I stamped the critters on cardstock, colored them in with markers and then fussy cut them with my scissors.

AwesomeDayNoteCard-2-teri

You might be wondering how the lines are so dark… because there’s no way “Crusty Ol’ Teri” is the perfect fussy cutter. Here’s a little secret: I cut really, really, really slow. And then, if any white was showing on the edges of the critter, I “touched” it up with a black pen. The pen is a super nice way to hide flaws.

It’s a little hard to tell from the pictures, but I did want the eyes to stand out so I dotted each critter’s eyeballs with a black Nuvo Crystal Drops. Truly, there have been moments lately when I’ve wondered how I ever crafted without Crystal Drops. They are awesome.

One more little detail about the card. You might be wondering about the patterned paper on it. It, too, came from Lawn Fawn. It’s from Lawn Fawn’s Really Rainbow 6×6 paper pad. Such a good happy pack of paper.

Alright! That’s all I have for now. I’ll be back again later, friends. See you again soon.

Thinking of You Card Challenge: Day 1

Hi, guys!

Back again with another challenge card. This time Ashley and I are challenging each other to make Thinking of You cards.

The idea behind this challenge? We wanted to do something in the spirit of Happy Mail and make cards to send to our friends and loved ones. (By the way, my friends, Jennifer McGuire and Kimberly Crawford, both do a FANTASTIC job of encouraging card makers all the time to send out their stamped cards! You should check them out. Jennifer’s motto is “Share Handmade Kindness” and encourages others all the time, while Kimberly encourages folks to “Mail It Monday” and get those cards out. Not to mention, both are always sharing their creativity!)

Anyway, back to the card.

1-ibs-billymissyou-teri

I created this sweet little scene with some stamps from Ink Blot Shop’s Billy Silly Goats stamp set. Such a fun set with so many adorable goats. (It’s available through Ink Blot Shop, as well as Simon Says Stamp!)

I created the background by sponging some green and yellow ink on cardstock. Then I stamped the little scene. I also sponged a little black ink below the goats to ground them, so to speak. (Oh yeah, and I added some color to the fence, hearts and flowers with markers.)

I stamped the goats a second time on another piece of paper, colored them in with markers and fussy cut them out with my scissors. I used 3D Foam Squares to adhere them to my card so they’d pop up… and really stand out.

I completed the card by adding some extra details with liquid dots, a strip of patterned paper and a stamped sentiment. I think it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Alright! Be sure to swing by Ashley’s first take on the challenge. It’s amazing.

See you again soon. Thank you, as always, for stopping by!

My Sweet Petunia

I’m excited to share with you a card I created for the hop. I wanted to make a birthday card because… birthday cards are something I’m always needing.

A handmade birthday card for Technique Tuesday || Terisplace.wordpress.com

The Mini Misti tool was perfect for making this card because I wanted to give Sammy the Squirrel a birthday hat. I stamped the hat (from the Sassy Birthday 2.0 set) once on a sticky note, fussy cut it out with scissors. I stamped the hat a second time on a piece of cardstock.

A little tip for all you, Misti lovers, out there. I use a Mini Misti most of the time. (In fact, I actually take this positioner with me when I hit the road and travel to craft with friends. It’s the perfect size!) I cut several pieces of cardstock to fit in the Mini Misti ahead to fit inside it. That way I can grab and go on a stamping binge without any cares or worries. 😉

Anyway, back to the card. This is where the Mini Misti came in as super helpful. I covered up the cardstock stamped hat with the mask. And then I stamped Sammy over it.

IMG_3899

I removed the mask and ended up with Sammy in a birthday hat!

Cute, right?

Then I went to town putting together the rest of the card. I completed the scene with the cupcake (also from Sassy Birthday 2.0) and the worm (also from the Sammy the Squirrel set).

Squirrel-Birthday-Nuts-Card-Close-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

I colored the images in with markers. Cut them out with a circle die. Added some dots with Nuvo Crystal Drops. Add a pompom to the hat (inspired by Jenn Brown, one of TT’s ambassadors, who does that quite often).

Then I completed the card with some patterned paper and a stamped sentiment. And yep. That’s it.

Alright! That’s all I have for you! Happy hopping! (Don’t forget, Ilina is your next stop! Take it away, Ilina! I promise that you are going to LOVE what she is sharing. She has such talent)

Oh, and be sure to comment as you hop. There are some prizes up for grabs: a $50 shopping spree at www.mysweetpetunia.com and a $50 shopping spree at TechniqueTuesday.com. Leave your comments on all the hop stops no later than Monday, May 28th, at 11:59 PM Central time and winners will be announced on Tuesday May 29th, on the Technique Tuesday and My Sweet Petunia blogs.

Technique Tuesday April Release Countdown: Day 2

New-Release-Countdown-Day-2

Hi, guys!

Back again. One more day until the new release from Technique Tuesday is live.

I’m here with another card that features one of the new products.

Today’s card features the new Sassy Girl Thought stamp set.

A handmade card by Teri || terisplace.wordpress.com

This new stamp set is the latest in the Sassy Sentiments collection of stamps from Technique Tuesday. It features a bunch of random phrases a girl might say, as well as some hand drawn doodles.

I think one of the cool things about this set is you can use it on cards, as well as on scrapbook pages and planner pages.

Wifi-Card-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

The words on my card are from the set. Can anyone out there relate? Wink. And the images are from the set too. I really wanted the images to pop so I stamped them on cardstock and did the coloring of them with my markers… and then I fussy cut the cups and phone out with my scissors.

Alrighty! That’s all I have. Be sure to hit the Technique Tuesday blog for links to all the design team members sharing projects today.

And be sure to stop by the Technique Tuesday website on the 1st to see all the new goods.

Be back again tomorrow. 🙂

Today’s card (2-16)

Hi gang!

Me again. Feeling the card vibe still. Got another one to share with you.

So meet today’s card.

A stamped card by Teri // terisplace,wordpress.com

Thought this might be a fun card to send to a friend.

The little food images are from Lawn Fawn’s Sweet Friends stamp set (and coordinating dies). The words are from the stamp set too.

I  originally picked up the stamp set and was all set on going die-free with it. But those arms and legs? Yeah. Totally sucked me into to getting the dies to use with the stamps. They are just… kinda… sorta… awesome. 🙂

SweetestTreatsCard2-teri

The papers are once again from my box of scraps. I actually think the polka dots are from Lawn Fawn. The ledger paper is not. (Fancy Pants, I believe.)

Yet again I added some dots with some white Nuvo Crystal Drops. Always such a fun addition.

Alright! Tis’ it for now. Be back again later, gators. Thank you again for stopping by!

Today’s card (2-12)

Hi guys!

Back again on the blog-a-roo with another card to share with you.

Give it up for today’s card.

A stamped card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Made this guy in my quest to ink up some the stamps in my stash that haven’t seen much love in awhile. The words and squirrel (and squirrel-ly images) are all from Papertrey Ink.

Did all the coloring with markers. Wasn’t super strict about it looking flawless. Just kinda ran with the coloring here.

squirrelcard1-teri

Once again, I raided my box of scraps. The hearts (leftover from other projects) and patterned papers are from the box. Always nice to use them.

I also whipped out some sequins and twine. Always fun to add them to a card.

Alright. That’s it for today. Be back again later, gators. Hope you are off to a good week!

Today’s card (1-23)

Hi guys!

Another day. Another card to share.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Made this guy while I still had supplies out from my last challenge with Ashley.

You just can’t go wrong with dogs! The cute dogs, dog stuff and dog words are from a dog stamp and die set by Mama Elephant and produced by Hampton Art. The set is based on Mama Elephant’s Playful Pups set. (It’s the cutest!)DogYappyBirthdayCard-teri

I was feeling adventurous when I colored in the dogs so I gave one of the dogs some spots. They might be a little too perfect to be realistic but, you know what they say, anything is possible in card land. Wink, wink!

The friend word is from a stamp set from Paper Smooches, while the hearts were cut with some dies from Lawn Fawn.

All the patterned papers are just random pieces from my box of scraps.

Alright! That’s it for me today. I’ll be back again later, friends. Thanks, as always, for stopping by.
