Feeling the card making bug the last few days. Back with another card to share with you. Today’s card is coffee-themed.
A unicorn holding a coffee cup? Yes. Yes, indeed!
The image (from the Unicorn Ice Castle stamp set from Flora & Fauna) truly inspired this card. It’s Christmas stamp set, but that didn’t hold me back. I mean, hello, coffee. I could send something with this little lady on it all year long to one of my friends.
I created the background by sponging ink in a circle on my card and then drawing a circle with a black pen. To add some interest to the sky, I stamped some stars (with the Peek-a-Boo Pals set from Avery Elle) and added some dots with a white pen and white Nuvo Crystal Drops.
The sentiment was created by pairing together sentiments from stamp sets from Avery Elle and My Favorite Things. Fun how they look like they were made to go together. A happy discovery indeed.
Alright. That is it for now.
Oh wait! One more thing! Speaking of unicorns, have you seen my unicorn enamel pin? I made him awhile back, offering him at Plannercon. I put her up in an Etsy shop. (You can also find him at Simon Says Stamp! and Doodlebugs. Both are wonderful places to pick up crafty things… and enamel pins too!)
Back again with a card that uses a stamp set I’ve not given a lot of love to in awhile, All Inside by Julie Ebersole from Ellen Hutson.
I feel like saying, “Hello, old friend,” when talking about this stamp set. I have loved this stamp set for so long, but it just hasn’t seen a lot of love lately from me. And since I’ve been trying to give a little more love to those stamp sets I’ve had for a long time and haven’t inked up in awhile, I decided it was a good time to bring it back to my craft table.
I didn’t go super crazy on coloring the bear. Instead I grabbed a couple gray markers and added a few highlights (or shadows) on to the bear’s fur. It’s subtle and a fun look I think.
It was sure fun creating this little scene for the card. The bear’s basket and flowers were stamped with the Bear Ware stamp set (and coordinating dies). It’s a really a fun way to sauce up the bear and make him (or her) unique.
I felt like this little bear just need something extra so I added a dog. I love how the little dog is looking up so lovingly! Hehe! I stamped the dog with the Animal Sweaters set from Flora & Fauna. Yes, it’s a Christmas set… but so many images can easily be used to make cards all year round. I love that.
The card’s friendly sentiment is also from the All Inside stamp set. A little secret: I cut the panel a little too big and had adhere it to the card so I fixed it by stamping a few polka dots with Patternology stamp set from Paper Smooches. I had to do a little masking off the end of the panel to make sure no stray marks ended up on my card, but it was well worth it!
Alright. That is it for me today. I hope you enjoyed checking out this friendship card. I’ll be back again later, friends.
Looking for a little Christmas card and gift tag inspiration? I’m up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today, sharing a couple new projects. Here’s a little peek at the goods.
I’ll give you the scoop on how I made the little wreaths. Yes, they might look simple but, wow, they took quite a few steps.
Plus I’ll tell you how I used some of the awesome products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to really make the wreaths pop off the card and tag. Talk about time savers!
I’d be tickled if you’d check the post out. Thanks for stopping by, friends. I’ll be back later in the week!
