Today’s card (6-27)

Hi, gang!

Back with another stamped card to share with you. This is a fun one I put together with a few images I stamped a few months ago while crafting the weekend away with friends.

A stamped card by Teri | Terisplace.wordpress.com

I have to be honest: This card made me laugh as it came together. I worked on it over a couple days and, eventually, told myself I just had to stop adding to the goofy little scene.

There is quite a bit of mixing and matching here. I used stamps from Heffy Doodle (the alligator, lion, champagne bottle), Mama Elephant (the words), Lawn Fawn (the stars) and Sunny Studio Stamps (the cupcake).

OMGURAwesomeCard2-teri

I wanted some of the elements on the card to stand out (the cupcake, bottle and the “OMG” bubble) so I used some Thin 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere them to the card. The thin squares are perfect because they add just a little bit of pop but not too much.

This card might end up being used as a birthday card for a friend. Or I might just send to to an awesome friend, who will hopefully get a kick out of it. We’ll see. But it was fun to make.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you again.

Today’s card (6-14)

Hi, gang!

I’m here yet again with a card to share with you so please give it up for today’s card.

And the crowd goes wild! (I kid. I kid.)

This card actually started a few months ago when I was able to to stamp the little elephants (from Fly with Me by Mama Elephant) at a retreat with some of my crafty friends. One of my friends kindly let me borrow the set and so I stamped quite a few images to bring home.

Let’s be honest: I didn’t quite know at the time what I was going to do with the, but I thought they were dang cute and would eventually be used by me to make something. And, so yeah, this card happened. 😉

I did all the coloring with my trusty Caliart markers ($20 on Amazon, people! Such a deal!). No real rhyme or reason to my coloring, other than I had fun adding some color to each one.

The sentiment is also from Mama Elephant. The set is called Smitten, but I am guessing it’s retired because I can’t find it on their website anymore. Still…. it provided a great little sentiment for this little card of mine.

That’s it for me today, friends. I’m all blog post posted out. I’ll be back again later.

Today’s card (4-21)

Hi, friends!

Back again with another stamped card to share with you.

Meet today’s card.

A stamped handmade card by Teri || terisplace,wordpress.com

Just a little “for fun” card that came as the result of messing around once again with the Three Amigos stamp set (and coordinating dies) from Mama Elephant.

I just love the little signs the animals hold in the stamp set. And I love that they are blank so you can really do all kinds of things with them.

awesomecatscard2-teri

I wanted to make a card for a friend, who is always there for everyone with a kind word and hug, so I went with these phrases. I easily could have turned this into a birthday card to give to another friend instead by using different words.

I was pretty pleased with the card when I added the stamped images to it, but I felt like it needed some extra pop so I used Nuvo Crystal Drops to add a circle (Look really, really really close! It’s black!) to the die-cut circle. Then I used white Nuvo Crystal Drops to make a white dot border outside the black circle.

I also added some dots with red Crystal Drops to my little stamped, colored (with markers) and die-cut hearts.

I think the dots just add the right little something to a card.

Anyway,  that’s it for today. I’ll be back again later, friends. See you soon.

Inspired By Challenge (+ Valentine Challenge)

Hi guys!

Super tickled to be joining my friend, Laurel, in taking part in her Inspired By challenge.  This week’s challenge is to make something inspired by this picture.

So cute, right?! (I’m also counting my take on it for today’s Valentine challenge with Ashley!)

So meet today’s card!

I just had a whole lotta fun here, creating a cute little “love” mail scene.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

I think the cloudy background makes it. Made that bad boy with a cloud stencil from My Favorite Things. If you are a stamped scene builder like I am, stop what you are doing. Get the stencil. You’ll love it. I can assure it. (PS. No affiliate links or sponsorship to say that. I’m truly just a fan!)

All the images and words on the card came from a couple different stamp sets: Gleeful Gardens and (retired) You’ve Got Mail from Lawn Fawn and Three Amigos from Mama Elephant.SnailMailFriendsCard2-teri

Love it when you can mix different stamp sets together and end up with something that pleases you.

Added a little extra pop to the card by adding a few dots with some white, black and pink Nuvo Crystal Drops. I love those things.

Alright! That’s all I have. Be sure to check out the other takes on the Inspired By image…. and be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see her latest take on our Valentine challenge.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Today’s card (1-23)

Hi guys!

Another day. Another card to share.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Made this guy while I still had supplies out from my last challenge with Ashley.

You just can’t go wrong with dogs! The cute dogs, dog stuff and dog words are from a dog stamp and die set by Mama Elephant and produced by Hampton Art. The set is based on Mama Elephant’s Playful Pups set. (It’s the cutest!)DogYappyBirthdayCard-teri

I was feeling adventurous when I colored in the dogs so I gave one of the dogs some spots. They might be a little too perfect to be realistic but, you know what they say, anything is possible in card land. Wink, wink!

The friend word is from a stamp set from Paper Smooches, while the hearts were cut with some dies from Lawn Fawn.

All the patterned papers are just random pieces from my box of scraps.

Alright! That’s it for me today. I’ll be back again later, friends. Thanks, as always, for stopping by.

Dog Stamp Challenge!

Hi guys!

My pal, Ashley, and I are at it again, challenging each other to make cards.

Both of us recently picked up the cute dog stamp and die set by Mama Elephant and produced by Hampton Art. The set is based on Mama Elephant’s Playful Pups set. (Love it!) Anyway, we challenged each other to make something with the set!

So here’s what I came up with.

DogFriendMissYouCard-Teri

The images and all the words (other than friend) are from the set. I just love that little dog. The friend word is from a sentiment stamp set from Paper Smooches. I just like the combination the phrase and word together. Plus, I’m going to send this card to a friend. 🙂

I also added a few hearts, which were cut with some hearts dies from Lawn Fawn.  I just love adding hearts (and stars) to my little stamped scenes. I think they just make things cuter.

I also added a few dots to my card. I made them with white and black Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Love those things.

Alright! That’s what I have.

Be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see her take on the challenge. See you again soon!

2017 Christmas Card Challenge

Hi guys!

Back again with another take on the 2017 Christmas Card Challenge with my buddy, Ashley!

I wanted to do something different today…. and well, yeah.  😉

UnicornChristmasCard_teri

Unicorns & Christmas? Yep. Different. And this was the result.

Always fun to push yourself to do something different when making cards. Let’s be real here for a minute: Do I love these cards? I like them. I don’t love them but it was fun to do something different. I’ve not seen a Christmas unicorn before so I decided to give it a go. I’m glad I did and that’s why I am sharing. 🙂

The unicorn and rainbow are from the Mama Elephant Unicorn stamp and die set that Hampton Art produced and is available at Jo-Ann Stores. Not sure where else, but that’s where I found it.  (It’s based on Mama Elephant’s fabulous Unicorns & Rainbows stamp set.) The words are a mash up of sentiments from My Favorite Things’ Toasty Greetings and Magical Unicorns sets. I did some masking to basically make the custom sentiment. The star stamp is also from MFT.

I once again created a background for my scene with the help of MFT’s Cloud stencil. Gosh, how fun that thing is!

Not much more to say today so I’ll be taking off.

Be back again tomorrow. In the meantime, be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see her latest take on this year’s challenge.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by! It’s ALWAYS a treat!

Christmas Card Challenge 2017

Hi guys!

Another day. Another card based on this year’s Christmas Card Challenge with my friend, Ashley!

Meet today’s card.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

I once again had fun playing with some Mama Elephant stamps. The reindeer is from their Reindeer Games stamp set. It’s just adorable.

To make the lead reindeer different (basically, like Rudolph and all), I colored his nose in with red ink and added a teeny tiny touch of glitter glue on top.  I stung them together with the help of some good old twine.

The words and the stamped stars are from Holly Jolly by Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson. Such a fun stamp set.

DeerWonderfulTimeoftheYearCardClose_teri

Created the background for this card once again with the help of the Cloud stencil from My Favorite Things. Such a great tool to use for creating cute and quick backgrounds. Take the stencil. Sponge on a little ink. Move the stencil. Sponge a little more ink. Repeat these steps over and over until you’ve added color to an entire panel of cardstock.

Super fun… and super cool looking.

Alright! That’s it for today. Be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see what she’s cooked up for today.
