Back again with another take on the 2017 Christmas Card Challenge with my buddy, Ashley!
I wanted to do something different today…. and well, yeah. 😉
Unicorns & Christmas? Yep. Different. And this was the result.
Always fun to push yourself to do something different when making cards. Let’s be real here for a minute: Do I love these cards? I like them. I don’t love them but it was fun to do something different. I’ve not seen a Christmas unicorn before so I decided to give it a go. I’m glad I did and that’s why I am sharing. 🙂
The unicorn and rainbow are from the Mama Elephant Unicorn stamp and die set that Hampton Art produced and is available at Jo-Ann Stores. Not sure where else, but that’s where I found it. (It’s based on Mama Elephant’s fabulous Unicorns & Rainbows stamp set.) The words are a mash up of sentiments from My Favorite Things’ Toasty Greetings and Magical Unicorns sets. I did some masking to basically make the custom sentiment. The star stamp is also from MFT.
I once again created a background for my scene with the help of MFT’s Cloud stencil. Gosh, how fun that thing is!
Not much more to say today so I’ll be taking off.
Be back again tomorrow. In the meantime, be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see her latest take on this year’s challenge.
Thanks, as always, for stopping by! It’s ALWAYS a treat!
Another day. Another card based on this year’s Christmas Card Challenge with my friend, Ashley!
Meet today’s card.
I once again had fun playing with some Mama Elephant stamps. The reindeer is from their Reindeer Games stamp set. It’s just adorable.
To make the lead reindeer different (basically, like Rudolph and all), I colored his nose in with red ink and added a teeny tiny touch of glitter glue on top. I stung them together with the help of some good old twine.
The words and the stamped stars are from Holly Jolly by Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson. Such a fun stamp set.
Created the background for this card once again with the help of the Cloud stencil from My Favorite Things. Such a great tool to use for creating cute and quick backgrounds. Take the stencil. Sponge on a little ink. Move the stencil. Sponge a little more ink. Repeat these steps over and over until you’ve added color to an entire panel of cardstock.
Super fun… and super cool looking.
Alright! That’s it for today. Be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see what she’s cooked up for today.
Kicking off this year’s Christmas Card Challenge with my friend, Ashley! It’s our thing around Christmas to challenge each other to make Christmas cards. And we are sharing the results of this year’s challenge this week.
So meet today’s card!
Created the little scene here with a couple Mama Elephant stamp sets – Alpine Carolers and their Reindeer stamp and die set that was produced by Hampton Art (but is somewhat similar to their amazing Reindeer Games set).
Had a great little time, coloring in the reindeer and tree. Might… just might have… killed a Copic marker in the process. Might have. 😉
Created the wintery background with the help of the Cloud Stencil from My Favorite Things and the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics (also from MFT). They are fun to use on their own… and even more fun to use together!
I always like adding a little pop to my cards so I added a few drops to background the some glitter glue and some Nuvo Crystal Drops. The little drops always add a little something special, I think.
Alright! That’s all I have today. Be back tomorrow with another card based on the challenge. Thanks for tuning in, and don’t forget to stop by Ashley’s blog.
Another day. Another crack at the Halloween Card Challenge with my pal, Ashley.
Just having some fun this time by mixing together some different products I had on hand. The words and stars are from the Frightfully Fun Halloween stamp set from My Favorite Things, while the cute critter and accessories are from the Meowlloween set from Mama Elephant.
I wanted to do something I haven’t done in awhile so I stamped the images on kraft cardstock and then colored them in with colored pencils. Once I did that, I whipped out my old friend, Gamsol, to blend the colors together.
I also used some black and white Nuvo Crystal Drops to do a little embellishing. Love that stuff because it looks like enamel dots, only it’s not. Love that.
Alright, that is what I have. Be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see what’s she has for you today. And I’ll be back again soon. Thanks for stopping by.
I’m excited to join my friends from Mama Elephant one last time for their December Stampede blog hop.
You should have arrived here the blog of the sweet and super awesome, Savannah O’Gwynn. If you are just tuning in, welcome to the hop!
So meet today’s card (and if you have been following along with my 25 in 25 efforts, No. 22!) !
I used Mama Elephant’s new No Peeking set. That’s the set the little reindeer guy is from.
I’m a big fan of their We Click set so I decided to fake a film strip with the little guy and some patterned paper and cardstock. I stamped him three times, giving him a black nose with gems twice and a red nose with a gem once. Also, I added another snapshot, tape and words from the We Click set.
Love it when you can mix stamp sets together.
This is the last stop on the hop! If you started along the way or are just starting out, head back to the start: The Mama Elephant Blog with Kryssi!
By the way, be sure to comment during the hop! Mama Elephant will be giving away a gift certificate to some lucky comment maker! Mama E. will announce the winner on their blog on 12/5.
Be back again tomorrow, y’all!
Ps… Don’t miss Ashley’s Day 22 card in the 25 (cards) in 25 (days) challenge! I can’t wait!
