Happy weekend’ing to you! I’m back with another card to share with you.
Today’s little typewriter card was inspired by Jennifer and Kristina’s Woven Windows lesson during Spring Card Camp 2 on Online Card Classes. I keep a little box of scraps by my desk and was like, “Hey, man. I’m going to give that a try.”
So I created the little window on this card with paper strips from that little box. Once I completed the window, I mounted vellum behind it.
I really liked the window and could have just gone with it on the card alone. But I’d stamped the typewriter and mouse (from Lawn Fawn’s Just My Type set) a couple days ago and really, really, really wanted to use them on a card… and I did. 😉 (By the way, the second sentiment on the card is from a Cathy Zielske Simon Says Stamp! set.)
To make the window pop, I did anchor the panel on a lot (and I mean a lot) of Crafty Foam Tape. The tape gives it some nice pop, but not too much. This card can still be mailed and all.
Anyway, I think this card turned out pretty fun. Hopefully, the friend who gets it, enjoys it!
Thanks, as always, for stopping by! I appreciate your kind words! See you again soon!
Tell us that you posted on your blog about our blog hop
Enough blog hop talk. Let’s get to the card!
Created this guy with the brand new Happy Hellos stamp set and Happy Hello Icons dies. I also added some hearts cut with the Tiny Hearts dies. (By the way, did you take Kathy’s Coloring Road Trip class on Online Card Classes? I applied some of her tips from to color in the bees. Boy, I sure love the end result! Thanks for tips, Kathy!)
Created the background paper myself with the ink and the Buffalo Check Stencil. I have made so many background papers with it. It’s so darn fun!
Alright! That’s all I have for you! I’ll be back again later, gators! Thanks, as always, for hopping with us… and for stopping by my blog-a-roo!
PS! Don’t forget that Paper Smooches wants to see your work! Did you know that Paper Smooches offers up a fun challenge each month? Keep an eye on the PS blog for details.
First up today is who won the slot in the Summer Card Camp 2 class from Online Card Classes? Well, that would be Agus (3:48 p.m. on 6/17)! Congrats, Agus! I just sent you an email about your prize!
Second, I’m blogging elsewhere today. I’m sharing a couple double page pocket-style scrapbook layouts over on the Simple Stories blog. Yes, the card girl did say layouts. (Holy smokes, you guys, the pressure of sharing them with you. 😉 🙂 )
Here’s a itty bitty peek of one of them.
I’m also excited to share a little bit of my “free-spirited” approach to pocket style pages, too. I think you’ll find I’m pretty relaxed about putting these pages together.
Anyway, you can read about it over there. Hope you will consider checking it out.
