Ooh la la!

Made this one with the new With Sympathy die. Not exactly a fun occasion to make cards for, but an important reason to make cards for. Having lost both of my parents in the

I created the background by brushing watercolors on watercolor paper and then splattering on some water drops and blowing them dry with my heat gun.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

To add to the watery feel of the card (is there such a thing?), I dripped on a few drops of Glossy Accents around and near the flourishes.

Alright! Hope you enjoy the hop.

Thanks for stopping by today, friends!

Happy Hanukkah card by Teri

I used the new Kibitzing Icons dies with the new Kibitzing Two stamp set to stamp the menorah and the sentiment.

The background was created by brushing color with a couple Clean Color markers onto a stamping block, spritzing the color with water and rubbing the block onto watercolor paper.

To make the menorah stand out, I adhered it to the card with foam adhesive. I colored it in with a silver pencil and then used a Wink of Stella pen to add a little sparkle to it. It’s subtle, but I think it’s sure pretty.

OK, that’s what I have. Thanks for stopping by today. Hope to see you again soon.

Birthday Wishes card by Teri

The words, heart and adorable critters are from the new We Adore You stamp set. And adore it I do. 🙂 It’s a fun set of different critters grouped together and then great cardmaker phrases to use with them.

I wanted to create a soft, somewhat muted card so I stamped the critters and hearts with black ink first onto scratch paper. Then I stamped them again (without reinking) onto the rectangle panel. I like how it gave them that nice gray tone. I added some light shading to them with the help of a Fantastix coloring stick from Tsukineko.

The pink background was created with the help of the Squared die, while the frame was created with the Scallop Frame dies.

OK, so that is what I have for you today. Thanks, as always, for stopping by! I always appreciate your kind words. Have a great day, guys!

So enough hop chit chat. 😉 Here’s what I have to share with you!

Easter Blessings card

I created this card with the brand new Easter Blessings stamp set.  The crosses and the words are from the set.

To make the cross background, I heat embossed all the crosses with white embossing powder onto a panel of white cardstock. I let the embossing powder cool down and then brushed pink, purple and green watercolors over them. I used a paper towel to remove the color that pooled up over the crosses and then just let the panel dry until I was ready to use it on a card.

Easter Blessings card

I cut the banner out with the Streamers dies. I wanted the banner to look curved so I used two layers of foam tape in the middle of it and one layer on the ends. I like how it gives the banners just a little bit of extra dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today all!  I’ll be back again later.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi all!

Happy to be contributing to my friend Tracey’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event with a Paper Smooches tag.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

So here’s the tag I made for today’s festivities.

fortracey_greetingstag1_teri

It’s doing double duty over on Tracey’s blog with a bunch of other fun tags today. Be sure to check them out.

I made a shaker tag by cutting three tags with Paper Smooches’ Gift Tags 2 dies. Two were from cardstock and one was from a transparency.

I cut a circle out of one of the cardstock tags and then cut a scalloped circle frame (from the Just for You Icons dies) to adhere to it. The transparency tag was adhered right to that first tag to create the window.

And both cardstock tags are held together with a LOT (… actually… more like… a monster lot) of foam tape.

The dove is from the A Blessed Christmas stamp set and the words are from the Joyful Greetings stamp set.

Be sure to check out Tracey’s blog. There are some great prizes up for grabs during her event.

And be sure to leave a comment on my post for a bonus chance at winning something from Tracey. You can read all the rules of contest here.

Be back later, gators.
