Back again for one more take on the Valentine Challenge with my pal, Ashley!
So meet today’s card.
A super sweet friend sent me the Pure Innocence Blowing Kissses stamp set and die from My Favorite Things to play with. (Thank you so stinking much, super sweet friend!!!!) I couldn’t resist pulling it out and using this weekend while crafting with friends during a Super Bowl/Scrapper Bowl party. 😉
I created that background on the kraft card with the help of a “retired” stencil (also from MFT). I just placed it on card at an angle and then sponged a little ink on top. I often like to ink up a whole card front when using a stencil but wanted to live dangerously (so to speak) and only do part of this one. I think it turned out pretty nice. I also sponged a little ink (lightly) onto the card for the girl to stand on. The shadow that inking creates is always good for grounding an image.
Keeping in line with the “kisses” sentiment, I used some heart dies to act like kisses for my card. I also added a few dots with white Nuvo Crystal Drops to the design. I sure like the dimension they always add to a card without adding any real bulk.
Alright! That’s it for today. Be sure to hop on by Ashley’s blog-a-roo to see her latest take on the challenge.
Back again with another take on the 2017 Christmas Card Challenge with my buddy, Ashley!
I wanted to do something different today…. and well, yeah. 😉
Unicorns & Christmas? Yep. Different. And this was the result.
Always fun to push yourself to do something different when making cards. Let’s be real here for a minute: Do I love these cards? I like them. I don’t love them but it was fun to do something different. I’ve not seen a Christmas unicorn before so I decided to give it a go. I’m glad I did and that’s why I am sharing. 🙂
The unicorn and rainbow are from the Mama Elephant Unicorn stamp and die set that Hampton Art produced and is available at Jo-Ann Stores. Not sure where else, but that’s where I found it. (It’s based on Mama Elephant’s fabulous Unicorns & Rainbows stamp set.) The words are a mash up of sentiments from My Favorite Things’ Toasty Greetings and Magical Unicorns sets. I did some masking to basically make the custom sentiment. The star stamp is also from MFT.
I once again created a background for my scene with the help of MFT’s Cloud stencil. Gosh, how fun that thing is!
Not much more to say today so I’ll be taking off.
Be back again tomorrow. In the meantime, be sure to swing by Ashley’s blog to see her latest take on this year’s challenge.
Thanks, as always, for stopping by! It’s ALWAYS a treat!
