March Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

2_HelloMemory3

Hi all!

It’s time for another Studio AE Blog hop with Ali Edwards and Technique Tuesday. I’m  happy to taking part today with some of my favorite folks!

This month, we are highlighting the new This Story by Ali Edwards stamp set (the Studio AE set for March).

I decided to challenge myself with this month’s set to make a layout with a photo that I’d been putting off scrapbooking.

The picture was taken with a self-timer of me and my family on Thanksgiving, sans my youngest cousin who was taking a nap so she could power shop on Black Friday. Yes, she does her older cousin proud. 😉

I heat embossed one of the sentiment stamps to make the rectangle tile with white embossing powder and white ink.

I also used the “life is good” stamp from the set, just to add a little “something, something” under the picture.

Alright, that’s all I have got.

February Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

2_SAE_Feb_Peek_tt

Hello again, friends!

It’s another good day for a blog hop. I’m joining the Technique Tuesday crew again for another Studio AE Blog Hop.

We are celebrating February’s set, which is called Super Fantastic by Ali Edwards. A little knowing secret, I’ve been foaming at the mouth since I first learned about this stamp set. I think it really is fantastic.

I just love the sayings in the set and using a whole bunch of them together. I think they really cool when mix them together.

All the words here are from the Super Fantastic set. The circles are from Ali’s Fun Flair set. I went back and forth between using circles from  Fun Flair or TT’s With Flair set. Both speak to my circle loving heart!

I also used the set to make one more card.

I had to do that mixing and matching thing again, pulling in some stamps from Ali’s Incredible set and TT’s Seriously Rad set.

I’m always excited when stamps mix together easily and seamlessly on projects!

Ok. I think that’s all I have for you today!

January Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

Hello again, friends!

The time has come again for another Studio AE Blog Hop. This month, the team is sharing ideas for new Be Mine by Ali Edwards stamp set.

I went a little bit card crazy with it. It’s just such a good card set.

So meet card #1.

Meet card #2.

And meet card  #3.

The third one is a little tricky! I stamped the red circle by flipping the stamp over, putting it on my block upside down and stamping with it. If you try this at home, be sure your block is clean (I use kitchen soap to clean mine every couple weeks) and grime-free. And make sure your stamp is clean, too.

Be sure to check out the blogs of everyone taking part in the hop:

We are going to give away one random prize:  $25 gift certificate to TechniqueTuesday.com to someone who comments during this month’s blog hop. The winner will be chosen at random and will be announced on the 16th on the Technique Tuesday blog.

December Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

It’s a lovely day for a blog hop, don’t you think? 😉

I’m stoked to be joining the Technique Tuesday crew for December’s Studio AE Blog Hop, which runs through Thursday.

We are all featuring projects today that are made with December’s My Life by Ali Edwards stamp set.

It starts shipping today to Studio AE members. Not a member? You can get it through Technique Tuesday and  some retailers for a limited time.

I decided to make a layout with the stamp set. So meet today’s project for the hop!

I was really inspired by the stamp set to just do a little random journaling for my scrapbooks. Some times, I get caught up the events and happenings I document in my books. The words in the set got me thinking about making some pages that really just document my life right now, like this one.

The journaling really is just a list of things I love. The pictures are some extras I had leftover from other projects, but they are related to the journaling so I decided to use them.

I used the stamp set on the title and journaling block.

Also used it to stamp the little arrow in the title on patterned paper and then fussy cut it out.

I had some paper scraps leftover and a couple Story Cards (and the stamp set) on my desk so I decided to make a random journaling card to add to my Project Life scrapbook as well.

There are a lots of folks who make Project Life books that are works of art and put a lot of thought to what goes into them. Mine is not one of them. 😉 It’s really hodgepodge and thrown together. This is just a nice little card that uses set and will fit nicely in one of the pockets. It’s a nice way to just capture the moment of life right now.

Be sure to comment as you go because Technique Tuesday is giving away a prize.  They will give away a $25 gift certificate to TechniqueTuesday.com to someone who comments during the blog hop. The winner will be announced on sometime on 12/13 on the Technique Tuesday blog.

Thanks for swinging by today!

November Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

It’s that time again: Studio AE Blog Hop time. 😉

I love the 10th!

Today, I’m hopping with Technique Tuesday’s Studio AE team to celebrate the Memories of Home by Ali Edwards stamp set. The set is November’s Studio AE set.

It’s pretty spiffy, I think!

My first inclination was to make a layout with it for the hop today, but I decided instead to make a Christma-inspired card with a little technique.

And ta-da! 😉

All the stamping was completed with the set, other than the hearts. They are from Ali’s Love, Ali stamp set (also from Technique Tuesday).

Look real close and you’ll see the house has a bit of an two-toned effect going on. Super easy technique, and the house in the Studio AE stamp set is perfect for it.

Start with a light ink color.

Tap it on the stamp (about half of it.)

Take a darker color and stamp it on the rest of the stamp.

And don’t worry if it bleeds together.

The end result will be a cool, two-toned house.

I enjoyed messing around a little with this technique and tried with a bunch of different color combos.

You could take this same card design and just change out the colors for a whole lot of different looks. Love that.
And that’s all.

Be sure to check the blogs of everyone taking part in the Blog Hop today:

We’ll pick one person from all the comments made during the hop to win a $25 gift certificate to TechniqueTuesday.com.

Tune into the Technique Tuesday blog on Nov. 13th to see if you are the lucky winner.
