A Wreath Card and Tag

Hi, friends!

Looking for a little Christmas card and gift tag inspiration? I’m up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today, sharing a couple new projects. Here’s a little peek at the goods.

I’ll give you the scoop on how I made the little wreaths. Yes, they might look simple but, wow, they took quite a few steps.

Plus I’ll tell you how I used some of the awesome products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to really make the wreaths pop off the card and tag. Talk about time savers!

I’d be tickled if you’d check the post out. Thanks for stopping by, friends. I’ll be back later in the week!

Technique Tuesday Countdown: Day 1

Hi, friends!

It’s almost release time again at Technique Tuesday, and I’m excited to share with you today a card made with some of the new products that will debut on June 1st.

This card features the new Strawberry stamp set, as well as the new Jam Jar Labels dies.

I went out of the box with this one. I was inspired to do some embossing by Amy, who has created some really eye catching cards where she had embossed images with white ink and then added color to them.

I heat embossed the Strawberry plant with white embossing powder onto watercolor paper. (Of course, the first thing I did was brush over the panel with an embossing buddy.) And then I used my Zig Quick Color Markers to add a little bit of color to the panel. Then I used a water pen to spread the color around.

The panel looked kinda ugly as it drying, but what a difference a few hours makes! It sure looks pretty now.

Once I plopped the panel on my card, I added some patterned paper strips along the side. And I added the stamped label, sequins and gold thread. Wondering where that gold thread is? Look under the label. It’s subtle but adds just the right hint of sparkle.

You’ll find the Strawberry Stamp Set, plus the label dies, on the New Products page on the Technique Tuesday website on the 1st. Be sure to stop by their blog today, too, to see the full reveal of some of the new products and to find links to the rest of the design team members sharing projects today.

Be back tomorrow.

Today’s cards (2-22)

Hi guys!

I’m back… back again… with another card. Cha-cha! Wait. Make that 2 cards! Woo-to-the-hoo!

Stamped cactus cards by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

These two cards are the result of some “nothing holding this girl back” inspiration. My goal? Just to have fun and go with it. And that I did.

I started by stamping the cactus plants (from the Stuck on You stamp set from Concord & 9th) on watercolor paper. (What ink did I use? Staz-On.)  And then I spritzed a little water on each panel and liberally applied a bunch of watercolors to them!

Once I let them dry, I went to town making the cards.

For the first card, I cut the panel into strips and adhered them a card made from white cardstock. I added a hello word (cut with a Papertrey Ink die) and a stamped “friend” word (stamped with a stamp from a set from Mama Elephant). There were a few white dots added too!

For the second card, I cut the panel into a rectangle with the help of a die from My Favorite Things. Once again, I whipped out the “hello” die and the “friend” stamp to do the sentiment.

To add to the “drama” (it makes me sound like one of those fancy card makers, right?) of the card, I added a few extra details with glitter glue and white crystal drops.

I think both cards turned out pretty nice!

Alright! That’s all I have. Be back again later, friends. Thanks for stopping by.
