World Card Making Day Blog Hop w/ Technique Tuesday

Hi, everyone!

Happy World Card Making Day! I’m delighted to be joining the Technique Tuesday Design Team with some very special guests in blog hopping today.

If you’ve been hopping along, you should have arrived here from the blog of Ana Anderson. If you are just getting started hopping, welcome to the hop! The next stop on the hop is the blog of Latisha Yoast.

We’re celebrating the big day by sharing some cards created with the brand new You’re Owlsome stamp set that TT just released for WCMD. You can get the stamp set for free through Sunday with a $30 or more purchase on the Technique Tuesday website. Just pick $30 or more products on their website, then add the stamp set to your cart and enter coupon code WCMD18 at check-out which will make the stamp set free.

I’ve got one card to share with you today. It’s a little on the artsy side.

I created the multi-colored owl (and pink hearts) by creating a background paper with Distress Oxide Inks and water and then simply stamping and die-cutting them with the matching dies. I think it’s a cool look and a fun way to add color without actually using markers and pencils like we often tell ourselves we have to do.

The background on my card was created with Washi tape and good ol’ black cardstock. For fun, I took a paint brush and flicked on splotches of diluted white paint.

Turned out pretty good, I think.

Alright! Be sure comment as you hop today as Technique Tuesday will be picking one person to give a gift certificate to. The lucky person will be selected at random from one of the hop stops. The winner will be announced on the Technique Tuesday blog.

And here’s the compete list of hoppers. Don’t forget that Latisha is the next stop. She’d love for you to visit.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by, friends.

Operation Write Home World Card Making Day Blog Hop (10-5)

Happy World Card Making Day!

Super stoked to be hopping again with the fine folks over at Operation Write Home. I love OWH for the good they do and for encouraging all of us cardmakers out there to have fun and give back!

So thanks for having me as part of the OWH hop! 🙂

Here’s the card I made for the hop!

I gave myself a 15-minute limit to make this card and really tried to pull from things left on my desk from other projects. Pretty much all the papers here are just leftover scraps. The stitched circles (from Studio Calico) are just something I’ve had lying around for a somewhat embarrassing amount of time. 😉

The sentiment is a stamp from Avery Elle’s Oh Happy Day stamp set. My, how I dig it.

That’s all for now. Be back again later!

Hope you are off to a happy day of cardmaking!

Today’s card (10-9)

Hi all!

Dummm… dummmm…. dummmmmm!

Meet today’s card!

Made this one based on one of the World Card Making Day challenges over at Studio Calico. They launched a whole bunch of them on their blog on World Card Making Day.

I used a whole lotta stuff for this one from their Central High Card Kit for this one. Also used a little Washi tape (the grid stuff) and some Lawn Fawn paper (the orange stuff).

I changed the color of the little SC Mistable arrows not with mist but with metallic rub-ons. A bit less messy and instantly ready to use (no dry time)!

That’s all for now.

Be back soon!

Ps… Who won the WCMD prize? That would be: Ashley N Newell (10/6 at 10:36 p.m.).

“This is so nice, Teri! Happy WCMD!”

Congrats, Ashley! I’ll send you an email shortly so I can get your prize out.

World Card Making Day: One More Card (10-6)

Hi all!

Hope you are able have been able to make some cards today!

Here’s one of the cards I made this afternoon!

Just a bunch of random stuff, fun stuff, really.

The papers are from Lily Bee, Lawn Fawn and Crate Paper. The Happy Day sentiment is a die cut from My Mind’s Eye and the butterfly is an die-cut from Pink Paislee.

Added a little mist just for the heck of it with some of Mr. Huey sprays from Studio Calico. (Those stars are from SC, too.)

Lots of fun stuff happening today across the Web in honor of the big day. Here are a couple things that caught my eye:

* Cath has a bunch of fun World Card Making Day challenges up on Moxie Fab World.

* Kimmers is hosting a sketch challenge. Make a card based on her sketch. You might win a prize pack from her.

* Julie is on the CK Blog, sharing some tips for stretching your craft supplies and a couple rad-tastic cards. Comment over there for a chance to win a copy of Holiday Cards & More. Vol. 7.

* In honor of WCMD, Jennifer is giving away a slot in an upcoming class from Online Card Classes.

* Studio Calico and Ellen Hutson have some great challenges up. Check out Studio Calico’s here. And check out Ellen’s here.

* has a fun little World Card Making Day promotion happening, too!  And Simon Says Stamp! does as well.

* And Operation Write Home is having a blog hop in honor of the day and all the heroes out there. Here’s the list of hoppers. (I’m one of them. My post is a few below this one.)

Well, must get back to making cards so I’ll be back later, gators!
