Today’s card (12-30)

Hello all!

Because she makes me laugh, meet today’s card.

I can remember my mom giving me the same concerned look as Mother Owl when I was a kid and… um… acting adventurous.

Mother Owl here began her life as a sticker from Reminisce.  I doctored her up by adding the apron (cut from paper from Reminisce), a heart brad from Provo Craft and ribbon bow (using ribbon from Papertrey Ink).

I also placed some brads through her eyes. Wow. That sounded bad. 😉

Anyway, she really does stand on her own.

Well, that is all I can think of so I’ll be back later.

Thank you for stopping by!

Today’s cards (12-27)

Howdy all!

Hope your holidays were great. A special thanks to all for the nice wishes over the last few days. Thank you!

I’m back in the card making saddle  so meet today’s cards. (Yeppers, friends, there are two of them today. Woo!)

This one is one of my Zva Creative adventures. The pearls, “friend” crystal word, flowers and brad are all from them.

And this is one I’ve been looking at for awhile. 😉

The papers are from BoBunny. The words are stamps from Technique Tuesday.

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

PS. New call for submissions at Paper Crafts. Click here for the details. The deadline is Jan. 11th.

Today’s card (12-24)

Howdy all!

Meet today’s card.

These pears made me giggle when I saw them. I just knew I would make a card with them.

And, yes,  I know pair is normally spelled pair and not pear. This is one of those times it was fun to break the rules. 😉 For what it’s worth, I also considered a “You’re pear-ty cute”  sentiment.

The larger pear is from a piece of patterned paper from Sassafras Lass. The panel the small pear is on is a sticker. It, too, is from Sassfras.

The little stickers are from My Little Shoebox, and the large alphabet stickers are from Doodlebug.

That’s all I have for today. I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s card (12-23)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

This one is just a little guy. He’s all of 3″ high and wide. 🙂

The pearls, brad and felt flower are from Zva Creative.

The frames are from American Crafts, stickers (4 and U) from KI Memories and patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye.

That’s all I have for now. I’ll be back tomorrow. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s card (12-17)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

The patterned papers are from My Mind’s Eye. The diecuts are, too.

To give the sentiment a slicker finish, I added a coat of Glossy Accents clear glaze to some of the words. I think it adds just the right amount of pop.

So that’s all I’ve got for now.

I’ll be back later.

Thanks, as always, for stopping. And a special thank you to those of you who have left comments lately. It’s always so nice to know someone is out there.

Have a great day!

Today’s card (12-14)

Hi all!

Dum. Dum. Dummmm.

Meet today’s card.

It’s kind of a mixed bag of stuff on this one.

All the letters in the “thank” word are … um… seasoned. Let’s just say I’ve had them for awhile. 😉 They come from Scrapworks, American Crafts and Making Memories.

The flower and “you” word are stamps from Ali Edwards’ Loving Words clear stamp set by Technique Tuesday.

It’s a little hard to tell, but I threw in some polka dot stamping and glitter embellishing action at the bottom of the card. The polka dots are a stamp from Papertrey Ink’s Polka Dot Basics 2 set. The glitter is from Making Memories.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

PS. Don’t forget the deadline for submissions for Card Creations 8 from Paper Crafts magazine is tonight (12-14) at 11:59 p.m. Mountain time. If you’ve got a really cool, previously unposted card, the editors would love to see it. Click  here for all the details.

Today’s card (12-12)

Hello all!

Meet today’s card.

Have to admit this one is a little busy for me, but it was really fun to make it. 🙂

The letters are from Heidi Swapp and American Crafts, the tree journaling block is from Elle’s Studio and the patterned paper is from October Afternoon. The rest is from my stash.

And, hey, have you updated your blog in the last few days? Please let me know if you have. I’d love to stop by.

Thanks for stopping by my place.  I’ll be back later.

Today’s card, another winner and other stuff (12-10)

Hello all,

Lots to talk about today so this post is gonna be quick and to the point.

First, meet today’s card.

The patterned papers are from My Mind’s Eye and American Crafts. The Happy Birthday circle is a diecut from Elle’s Studio. The gems are from my stash, and the gold borders are Paper Frills diecuts from Doodlebug.

Second, how about a winner for my 12-5 give-away? 😉

Picking at random…. now.

That winner is:

Cynthia B.

OK, I’ll throw my hat into the ring. Thanks for the chance to win!
The card is lovely, as usual! I’ve not seen that PTI set.

Congrats Cynthia!  I’ll send you an email shortly for your snail mail address so I can get your prize out.

Third, I have a little encouragement for all of you. Yes, all of all you.

The deadline for submissions for Paper Crafts magazine’s annual  Card Creations  special issue is fast-approaching. It strikes on Monday (the 14th) at midnight (Mountain time).

I would love to open up the magazine next year and be blown away by your cards. I know there are some amazing card makers who check out my blog once-in-awhile. 🙂

Even if you’ve never been published before, consider giving it a shot. You just might submit the card that launches a lofty publications resume.

Even if you have been published and but haven’t had much luck lately, give it a whirl again. Been there. Totally can relate.

Go here for submission info.

Please note for this call only that the editors are asking that work be fresh and previously unseen (that includes appearing on your blogs). Again, that’s for this call only.

If you have questions, please ask. If I don’t know, I can track down someone who does.

And, finally, have you been to my pal Jess’ blog today? 😉 She’s got a mean packet of Papertrey Ink blog candy up  for grabs. Go check her out, read her news and leave her a comment. Click here and you’ll get right to her blog. I know she’d love to hear from you.

Zva Creative Blog Hop Winner! (12-9)

Well, turns out someone who posted here is a lucky Zva Creative Blog Hop winner.

That’s because the 5 secret blogs with winners of $30 Zva Creative packages have been chosen random, and one of them was (…. dum… dumm… dummm…. ) on this blog.

The winner of the Zva Creative prize package from this blog is:

Kate

“I like that the crystals are self adhesive…I HATE trying to glue those things on!! Very pretty!!”

Congrats Kate! I’ll email you shortly to get your snail mail address so your prize can be sent to you.

Zva winners have also been chosen from blogs from Lynn M., HildeLynn G. and Anabelle. They will be announced sometime today so be sure to check them out.

We had a ball with the hop and we hope that you did as well. Thank you to everyone who visited my blog over the last couple days. Please keep an eye out for another Zva Creative Blog Hop in the future.

I’ll be back later. Thanks again for stopping by.

Today’s card (12-9)

Hello all!

Meet today’s card.

This one is a tricky one. The joy panel opens up. I used a piece of  self-adhesive Velcro to keep it closed.

Just for giggles, here is a closeup so you can see the Velcro.

The pearl flourish (PE-02CB-146) and pink gems (CR-02CB-101) are from Zva Creative. The blue patterned papers are from Basic Grey and Fancy Pants. The ledger paper in the back  from Melissa Frances and that snowflake is from My Mind’s Eye. The letters are from Making Memories.

Well, well, well. I think that’s all for now.

I’ll be back later. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

PS. Check out the Paper Crafts Connection blog today. I’m also over there today, too. 😉
