A Word-y Christmas Tree

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Hi, all!

Well, surprise surprise! I’m back with another tag… another Christmas tag. Shocked, right? Ha! Wink!

Today’s tag was inspired by a combination of tags shared during the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. There were a few tags that featured text mainly as the design element on on them (for example, Debby’s Cheer tag here) that caught my eye. And there was Joyce’s Tree tag on Day 12 too that made me say, “That’s cool!”

Collectively, the text tags and Joyce’s tree tag inspired me to make this simple little tag. So let’s take a look at it. 🙂

A stamped Christmas gift tag by Teri | terisplace,wordpress.com

It’s a simple little tag, really.

I simply made the Christmas tree by stamping words and stars from the Spreading Joy stamp set from Paper Smooches on a die-cut tag.  Then I stamped a heart in the middle of the “o” in Joy. To sauce it and the stars up, I applied a thin layer of Stickles onto them. I love the little glitz the glitter adds.

I thought about using another word stamp to make the tree’s trunk, but I instead went the easy route. I freehand cut a simple trunk from kraft cardstock and plopped it in place.

I finished the tag off with by tying some jute throught the top of it. I purposely chose jute because it matches the color of the tree trunk. I think a nice red and white baker’s twine would have looked swell though as well.

Alrighty! That is it for me today. I’ll be back again later. Pretty sure I’ll be back again in the next couple days with another tag or two. I just can’t stop. Having so much fun. Thanks again, Tracey, for all your efforts in putting this fun event together… and for the flood of inspiration to play!

And a big thanks to all of you out there for swinging by, as always. It’s always a treat!

A Very Merry Christmouse…

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Hi, friends!

I’ve got a few more tags inspired by Tracey’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. I’ve really enjoyed checking out her posts each day, seeing all the tags shared. That fun has definitely inspired me to make more holiday tags.

Today’s tags are really the result of just seeing so many lovely tags and wanting to make a few more. 🙂 Thanks for starting this fun event and inspiring so many (and me) to play, Tracey!

So meet Tag No. 1.

A Christmas Tag by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

To make this tag, as well as the next two tags, I pulled out the Merry Mice stamps and dies from Sunny Studio. I simply stamped some mice and accessories and colored them in with markers. And then I went to town decorating each tag with my die-cut images, as well as some additional stamping. Really easy stuff but the delight it gave me in the process was so worth it! 😉

Meet Tag No. 2.merrylittlechristmousechristmastag-teri

For this one, I stamped a few stars onto the tag to finish up the scene. I colored them in with a yellow marker and then added some small dots with a black pen. Easy peasy.

I also ground the mice by added a little shadow beneath them with a light gray pen. It’s really light but really adds something.

And meet Tag No. 3.micechristmatag-teri

I once again did the shadow trick on this guy. But this time, I added a few snowflakes in the sky (so to speak) with white pompoms. I’ve been on such a kick lately with doing that. It’s just so fun.

Alright! That’s all I have for you. I’ll be back again later, friends.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Silly Christmas Tags

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Hi again, friends!

I’m still making Christmas tags. I’m still having a lot of fun checking out this year’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags from Tracy McNeely (and her host of stampy friends)!

I made two tags today that are kinda similar, but this is the first one.

A funny Christmas tag by Teri - terisplace.wordpress.com

Just being goofy with this guy! I stamped the alligator awhile back (from the Animal Sweaters set from Flora and Fauna) and colored him in. I thought how fun it would be to dress him up so I added a stamped sweater, boots and reindeer antlers (all from the stamp set) to him. I also added the big old red gem (or Rudolph nose) to his face. Hee!

I was inspired by Carol’s tag here to add a few stamped snowflakes on the background. They did a nice job completing the scene as the tag seemed a little bare without them.

This tag made me giggle and resulted in me making a second silly Christmas tag.

This time I used the adorable pug stamp set from the same stamp set, along with sweater pants and reindeer antlers. I once again added a red gem for his nose. (Hee!)

The tree (as well as the snowflake) is from a different Flora and Fauna stamp set called Unicorn Ice Castle. It’s super fun too.

Alright! That’s it for me today. Be sure to stop by in the next couple days. I’ll be sharing another tag or two. Been having so much fun, playing along and all!

Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by Lawn Fawnatics

Hi, guys!

I’m back with a Christmas card to share with you today. Today’s card by was inspired by Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 65: Fun with Dies! Seemed like a good reason to dig into my pile of dies and plays… and so I did. 🙂

Meet today’s card and my take on the challenge.

falalawreathchristmascard-teri-1

The wreath (cut with the Mini Wreath dies) was so much fun to put together. Super tiny but fun to add some extra detail to with Glossy Accents. You’ll see I added a little gloss to the berries and the bow.

I also added a detail to the hearts (cut with the Hearts dies) with Glossy Accents as well.

I also “hung” the wreath with a small piece of twine.

To make the Fa La La La La word (cut with the Fa La La La La Border) stand out, I cut it three times from kraft cardstock and stacked it up and added a stamped phrase beneath it. The words? They were stamped with a phrase from the Simply Winter Sentiments set.

In full disclosure, I originally planned to hang the wreath from the Fa La La La La words. I tried many ways but I was not digging the look. I haven’t quite abandoned the idea thought and might try again later in the holiday card making season. Watch for that… wink!

Alright! That’s it for now. I’ll be back later, gators. Thanks for swinging by. And thanks, Fawny friends, for the challenge.

Christmas Tags Technique

Hi, guys!

Looking for a little extra inspiration? I’m up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today, sharing a fun technique for making Christmas tags. I’m showing how to make  window tags!

Here’s a little peek at my tags.

Christmas Tree Window Tags by Teri for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Stop on by over there for the scoop on how to make your own Christmas Tree Window Tags. They take a little more time than one layer tags but they are so fun looking when put together. It’s so worth the extra time!

I hope you’ll check out my post!

See you again soon, friends!

25 Days of Christmas Tags… Paper Smooches Style!

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Hi, friends!

It’s another day of 25 Days of Christmas Tags fun! Today, Paper Smooches is the sponsor! And I’m geeked to share a few tags I made in honor of the fun.
Give it up for Tag No. 1.
TeriSantaPawsTag-1
I created the base of this tag by cutting a tag base from with the To From Tag Dies and then flicking a teeny tiny amount watercolor paint on it. And, no, I didn’t use watercolor cardstock. I used plain old heavy cardstock. Since it was such a little amount of paint (and thick cardstock), there was no warping.
The stamps are from the Merry Motifs and Santa Paws sets from Paper Smooches. It’s a wee bit hard to tell but I colored in Rudolph’s nose with a red marker and then added a layer of Glossy Accents right on top of it.
Here’s Tag No. 2.
TeriSantaPawsTag-2
Once again, I used the tag dies to cut the tag base and then added little patterned paper on top. I stamped Santa (from Santa Paws) and then cut him down to fit on my tag. Just for fun, I added a teeny tiny pompom to his hat.
The sentiment is from the Enchanted Elves stamp set.
And, finally, here’s Tag No. 3.
A Christmas Tag created by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com
This one is the tag I created last. I had stamped several images from Merry Motifs, including this bulbs. I had them sitting on my desk and thought, “Well, those sure would be cute on a tag.” And, so, that’s what I did. I made this tag with them. 😉  To make them “pop” off the tag, I secured them onto it with a couple 3D Foam Circles from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I always love adding a little pop with their 3D Foam products.
The sentiment? It, too, is from the Merry Motifs stamp set.
Ok. That’s all the tags I have in me for today. I’ll be back later with a few more… because tags are just so much fun and such a good creative way to play. Anyone else out there feel the same way? High 5. A big old high 5 to you.
Oh, and be sure to stop by Tracey’s blog today to see all the Christmas tags (today, yesterday and so many days in a row… wink!) … and to learn more about this fun event. You’ll also want to check out this post to see the awesome link up to all the cool tags that were inspired by this year’s event. Good job, everyone!

PS… there are PRIZES to be won… so you really, really, really should check out Tracey’s blog!  (wink!)

A Joyful Wreath Christmas Tag

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Hi, everyone!

I’m back yet again with another Christmas tag.

Today’s tag was inspired by a couple different tags shared as part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags from Tracey McNeely that had wreaths on them: Lin’s on Day 10; Dana’s on Day 9; and Lindsey’s on Day 9 as well.

This tags made me just want to explore my stash of holiday stuff and find a wreath (or wreath’ish) stamp or die and make something… and so I did.

A Christmas tag by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

The wreath (or wreath’ish thingy) is from Ellen Hutson, as is the “joy” word. To make the word pop, I cut it twice from red cardstock, layered the words on top of each other and then added a big ol’ coat of Glossy Accents to it.

I also added a little random color with green markers to the edges of the wreath.JoyWreathTag-2-teri

The tag base? It’s from an older, discontinued (but still fun) tag builder die set from My Favorite Things, while the stamped words are from the Simply Winter Sentiments stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

Super simple tag, although it did take a little time to dry with the Glossy Accents and all. 🙂

If you haven’t already checked out Tracey’s fun event, I encourage you to do so now. So many wonderful tags are uploaded each day, plus folks are sharing tags that have been inspired by them. That makes it super duper fun.

Anyway, that’s it for now. I’ll be back later, friends.

Snowman Holiday Tags

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Hi, everyone!

Here today with a couple holiday tags. These two tags were inspired by the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event from Tracey McNeely!

On Day 7, there were some cute holiday scene created with the Feeling Frosty stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps. Love the stamp set and was inspired to make a few scenes of my own on tags.

Please give it up for tag no. 1.

A Christmas Tag by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

Pretty much every image on this tag was stamped with the Feeling Frosty stamp set. It’s just so cute! I added a little color to the images with markers. Rather than stressing out over the markers’ numbers, I just randomly pulled light and dark markers and ran with it. Easy peasy!

To add to the feel of the snowy scene, added some mini white pompoms to the skies. I love the pop they add.

And meet tag no. 2.

snowmansnowyhugstags-teri-2

I decided to things a little different for this one by added the coffee cups to the snowmen’s hands. I wanted it to look like they were chilling, hanging out and talking. Wink. 😉

Again, I colored the images in with markers and then embellished the scene by adding some white pompoms to the sky. Love that look!

Alright! That I have for you today. Be sure to check out Tracey’s blog to see the latest tags on this fun challenge. Be back again later, friends.

Let’s see the card!

A stamped friendship card by Teri | terisplace, wordpress, com

I created this card using several new products: the Thinking of You die; the Sunflower die; and the Savvy Stencil. I also used the “friend” word from the Delightful Greetings stamp set.

I added the patterns the back of the card with a little ink and the stencil. To create the flower, I die-cut it from white cardstock. I then used a bunch of markers to add color to it. To borrow a phrase from my friend, Kathy, I “color plucked” from my basket of markers, meaning I just grabbed Copic markers that looked good rather than follow any numeric formula for color blending.TeriThinkingofYouDie-2

To give the sentiment a little extra pop, I used white Nuvo Crystal Drops to add a few dots to the words. I like the subtle texture.

Alright! That is it for me. Thanks so much for taking part in today’s hop… and leaving your kinds words! It’s always such a treat!

Coffee Card No. 2

73190735_10221255663291705_3948054824632713216_n

Hi, all!

Back again with another caffeine-inspired card. Super happy to be linking it up the latest Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop too! (So many great projects have been shared so far! Great job everyone!)

Boba Tea Card by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

Created this card with the Caffeinated stamp set from Paper Smooches. I had colored in the tea glass and little fellas a bit back, but I never used on a project. Totally inspired by the hop to pull them out and put them on a card.HelloCuteTeaCard-2-teri

The patterned papers are from my big old box of scraps. Anyone else out there still keep a box of paper scraps? I honestly can’t remember the last time I picked up much new patterned paper. Have so much older stuff (but still dang good) stuff to use.

Oh and the sentiment! Created the custom sentiment by mixing together words from the Caffeinated set and the Caffeinated Two set.

Alright! That is it for me! Hope you enjoyed checking out my card! Don’t forget to check out ALL the awesome cards uploaded to the hop. So, so many good ones!
