Birthday Cards for the Win

Hi, everyone!

In need of a little birthday card inspiration? I’ve got a couple stamped birthday cards over on the blog for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Here’s a teeny tiny peek-a-roo.

These cards were a blast to make. Lots of stamping and lots of color, but not a lot of coloring actual images in with markers.

I hope you’ll check it out!

See you again soon!

Coffee Lovers Hop | Card 6

Hi, guys! Back with one last card for the 2020 Fall | Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop. So, with that, meet today’s card.

Just a fun little card here. I created the background paper yet again with a Paper Smooches stencil and ink. Sure miss PS! 🙂

And I pulled together some stamped images from Lawn Fawn and Papertrey Ink. Did just a little bit of coloring to the images. Very, very little really. Didn’t want them to clash too much with the background paper.

It’s hard to tell but I did add a little bit of sparkle with glitter to the fairy’s wand, the unicorn and little sparkly starburst thingy-bobbers.

Alright. That’s it for now. Don’t forget to check out the hop. Even though it’s ending, there’s still lots and lots of inspiration to be found. So many great coffee (and tea and cocoa) inspired projects have been shared! What a nice thing the Coffee Loving Card Makers have done for the card making community! Thanks so much, guys, for all you do to make this happen and keep the card making spirit alive!

Coffee Lovers Hop | Card 4

Hi, guys! Still very inspired to play by the 2020 Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Got one more coffee-themed to share.

Pretty simple card with here. Just used images from one stamp set (Lawn Fawn’s Thanks a Latte) on it, as well as the words. I simply colored the images in with markers and avoiding doing any really fancy techniques, other than doing some basic shading.

Created the background paper with a stencil from Paper Smooches. (Sure do miss PS, but I digress!) A little bit of ink and a little bit of cardstock… and woolah! A background paper!

Added a few little extra details to the card with pens (see the faux stitching) and puffy paint.

That’s all I got. I’ll be back again later. By the way, don’t forget to swing by the hop’s link up page to see all the great projects shared so far. So cool to see how so many crafters are inspired!

Coffee Lovers Hop | Card 3

Hi, guys! Inspired to make one more card in honor of the 2020 Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Hop.

This card isn’t the fanciest, but it’s ok with me. Some days, it’s nice just to make a card quickly, allowing one to getting lost in the creative process (and checking out from life for a few minutes) while doing it. So, with that, meet today’s card.

I enjoyed making this one as I whipped out the little toucans (from Lawn Fawn) that I’ve had for a long while but haven’t inked up a bunch. Then I paired them with a few other Lawn Fawn images to make the little “drinking” scene. (To give the scene just a bit of glitz, by the way, I added some flitter to the cups, as well as the hearts.)

Then, I just built the rest of the card using scraps of paper to make background. I again pulled together a few different Lawn Fawn sentiment stamps to make the sentiment for the card.

Alrighty! That’s it. Such a short post… but a post. 🙂 I’ll be back again later. Thank you, as always, for stopping by.

And don’t forget to check out the hop. So many great cards have been shared already!

Coffee Lovers Hop | Card 2

Hi, guys! Back with another card inspired by the Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

Today’s card has a Christmas feel to it! So, with that, meet today’s card!

I wanted to try something a little different with this card so I picked a color scheme I don’t use often: pink and gray! It was a good challenge… and was sure fun to make something non-traditional for a Christmas card.

To create the little scene, I paired together some stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn and Papertrey Ink (the coffee cup, which I’m pretty sure is retired). It just seemed fun to use the coffee cup as the tree base so I threw caution to the wind and ran with it.

Didn’t do a great deal of coloring here, other than adding a little gray to the bird and the cup. I also added a little gold to his beak.

The sentiment? Once again, I made my own by mixing and matching a few different Lawn Fawn stamps together. Always fun when you can do that.

Alright! That’s it for me. I’ll be back again later.

And don’t forget to check out the hop. So many awesome cards have been linked up already. It’s so fun to see how everyone puts their coffee (and cocoa and tea stamps) to use. Always so many great ideas.

A stamped snowman and fox card by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

This was such a fun card to make! I created the background by cutting several snowflakes with the new Huge Snowflakes dies. I lightly (very, very, very lightly) sponged sponged some black ink where I was going to place the large snowflakes and then added them to it. (Side note: I actually cut all the snowflakes from white cardstock and then added color with ink to some of them before I got to creating. Could have saved time by just cutting them from colored cardstock, but I decided not to.)

Once I added the big snowflakes, I added a few small ones, as well as a few white Nuvo Crystal Dots.

TeriHugeSnowflakesDies-2

The snowman and fox were stamped and die-cut with the new Winter Greetings stamps and Winter Greetings Icons dies. I colored them in with good ol’ alcohol ink markers. I also added a stamped sentiment to a banner cut with the Vanilla Verbiage Icons dies. For good measure, I sponged a little black ink along the edges of the banner. Anyway, I think it turned out pretty cute. Hope you like it.

By the way, do you like playing with Paper Smooches stamps, dies and stencils? Let’s see what you are making! Paper Smooches has a challenge every month on the the PS blog! Be sure to check it out!

Snowman Holiday Tags

25DaysTagsRedChristmas

Hi, everyone!

Here today with a couple holiday tags. These two tags were inspired by the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event from Tracey McNeely!

On Day 7, there were some cute holiday scene created with the Feeling Frosty stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps. Love the stamp set and was inspired to make a few scenes of my own on tags.

Please give it up for tag no. 1.

A Christmas Tag by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

Pretty much every image on this tag was stamped with the Feeling Frosty stamp set. It’s just so cute! I added a little color to the images with markers. Rather than stressing out over the markers’ numbers, I just randomly pulled light and dark markers and ran with it. Easy peasy!

To add to the feel of the snowy scene, added some mini white pompoms to the skies. I love the pop they add.

And meet tag no. 2.

snowmansnowyhugstags-teri-2

I decided to things a little different for this one by added the coffee cups to the snowmen’s hands. I wanted it to look like they were chilling, hanging out and talking. Wink. 😉

Again, I colored the images in with markers and then embellished the scene by adding some white pompoms to the sky. Love that look!

Alright! That I have for you today. Be sure to check out Tracey’s blog to see the latest tags on this fun challenge. Be back again later, friends.

A stamped friendship card by Teri | terisplace, wordpress, com

I created this card using several new products: the Thinking of You die; the Sunflower die; and the Savvy Stencil. I also used the “friend” word from the Delightful Greetings stamp set.

I added the patterns the back of the card with a little ink and the stencil. To create the flower, I die-cut it from white cardstock. I then used a bunch of markers to add color to it. To borrow a phrase from my friend, Kathy, I “color plucked” from my basket of markers, meaning I just grabbed Copic markers that looked good rather than follow any numeric formula for color blending.TeriThinkingofYouDie-2

To give the sentiment a little extra pop, I used white Nuvo Crystal Drops to add a few dots to the words. I like the subtle texture.

Alright! That is it for me. Thanks so much for taking part in today’s hop… and leaving your kinds words! It’s always such a treat!

A Harry Potter Boba Tea card made by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

I had a super strong desire to create a Harry Potter-inspired card so I stamped the glassed on the Boba Tea cup (all from the Caffeinated stamp set). Then I used a black pen to draw a mark like Harry’s onto the top of the glass.

I didn’t have a wand stamp, but there are some super cute stars in the So Fairy Cute stamp set. I stamped a whole bunch of those to add the “magical” feeling of the card.

TeriCaffeinatedTwoStampSet-CLOSE.jpg

The sentiment was created by pairing the “bobalicious” word from the Caffeinated Two stamp set with the “you are” from one of the stamps in the Caffeinated set.

Anyway, thought it turned out pretty fun! Looking forward to sending this card to one of my friends.

Alright! That’s it for today. Thanks again, friends, for stopping by. I always appreciate your kind words. See you again real soon.

Alright! So let’s get on with the project.

A handmade card by Teri for Paper Smooches | terisplace.wordpress.com

I had a blast creating the cactus plant for this card with the new Cacti dies. These dies allow you make all kinds of cactus.

I’m not from a cactus-friendly place so be kind to any creative liberties take with this cactus. (Wink!) In card land, everything is possible, right?

TeriCactiDie-2

I created the custom sentiment for the card by pairing together words from two stamp sets – Kindness Sampler and Delightful Greetings. The little heart? It, too, is from Delightful Greetings. It just… appropriate… for this card.

The background for this card was creating by mixing together a bunch of paper scraps from my never-ending bin of scraps. (Can you relate?)

Alright! That’s it for this card.

But got a question for you. Do you have a pile of Paper Smooches stamps and dies? Don’t forget there’s a chance for you share what you are making with them. Paper Smooches offers a fun challenge every month. Watch the blog for details. Kim LOVES and I MEAN LOVES seeing what you are creating!
