Today’s card (7-31)

Hi everyone!

Meet today’s card.

Just playing again and worked up this little fellow.

The clouds are from Lawn Fawn’s Bon Voyage set. The happy face and rain are from their Partly Cloudy stamp set. The words are from Sophie’s Sentiments.

All the papers are from Echo Park Paper, American Crafts and (oldie but still goodie) Heidi Swapp. The rest is from my stash.

‘Tis all for now. Be back later.

SRM Press Guest Spot Bonus (7-29)

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to have a guest spot today on the blog for the good folks at SRM Press.

Not familiar with SRM Press? Well, they make some of the best, most practical stickers for card makers, paper crafters and scrapbookers.

I mean, check these out.

Totally good stuff!

I wanted to share a couple bonus projects over that I made with some of SRM’s stickers.

Meet #1.

And meet #2.

Both of these use one of the #55004 Thanks Fancy Sticker Sentiments sheets. It’s one of their brand new sticker sheets debuted at the recent CHA show. It has some really beautiful thank you sentiments.

The stitch marks are stickers, too! SRM includes them on their We’ve Got Your Sticker Plus sheets. I’ve become quite a fan of them. It’s so much easier than taking out the sewing machine. Grab the sticker sheet. Put the stitched sticker down. And… woolah… you are good to go. 🙂

Be sure to check out the SRM blog today. Leave a comment on my post over there and you’ll have a chance to win a selection of brand new, just released stickers. And, for an extra chance at winning the prize pack, leave a comment here on my blog, too! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by. I’ll be back soon.

PS… Be sure to check out the Paper Crafts blog today around noon EST! I have it on a very good authority (cough… cough… Kelly… cough… cough..) there will a giveaway there involving some of SRM’s stickers, too! 🙂

So enough talk about the hop.

Let’s get on with the card. 😉

Meet today’s card.

I used the new A Little Lovin set. The words, bunny, heart and small carrot are from the set. The large carrot is from the Vegtastic stamp set. I knew the minute I saw the bunny that I had to try to pair them together.

To make the teeth pop a little bit, I added a coat of Glossy Accents to them.

And for the cheeks? A few people have asked how make them so vibrant with chalk. Well, the secret is I don’t use chalk for them. I use Metallic rub-ons to do them. I use the Ruby color from Color Kit #1. I lightly tap my finger on the palette and then rub it lightly right onto the image I want to add cheeks to. Works like a charm.

That’s all for now. Be back again later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Go-to Challenge: Cosmo Cricket (7-27)

Hi friends!

Woot, woot! It’s the last Wednesday of the month.

That means it is Go-to Challenge time!

So what’s a Go-to Challenge? It’s a “just for fun” thing with the Go-to Gals. Once a month, we challenge each other to make something with a specific manufacturer’s products. Sometimes, we all play. Sometimes, we don’t. The only rules are there are none!

This month, we challenged each other to make something using products from the one and only, super trendy and always fun Cosmo Cricket.

So enough jibber jabber, gabber, super fabber.

Meet the projects I came up with. (Yeah, I went a little crazy this time. 😉 )

Meet #1.

Meet #2.

And meet #3.

Ta-da!

I mostly used products from Cosmo Cricket’s Social Club and Salt Air collections for all three of these cards. I literally just set a small stack of products from both collections in front of me and played until I came up with these projects. It was one of those “let’s just let it fly and see what you come up with” things. 😉

I should note on the third card that the circles are buttons. I just punched patterned paper and glued it to them. I thought it made for fun pair of embellishments for that card.

Be sure to check the blogs of the other Go-to Gals today to see what they came up:

Betsy

Jennifer

Julie

Kim

Windy

I can hardly wait to see.  I love seeing what they dream up.

That’s all for now. Be back again soon.

Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to stop by.

Today’s card (7-26)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

This is one I made for the July All Stamping Tech challenge with Technique Tuesday. Our challenge this month was to make a birthday card or some other kind of birthday-themed project.

I’ve made my share of fun, cute and busy birthday cards, but a clean card is sometimes all that is needed.

I used stamps from two Technique Tuesday sets on it: Happy Birthday and The Family Circle by Ali Edwards.

Speaking of Technique Tuesday, here’s an itty bitty peek of a project I made with the August Studio AE stamp set from Technique Tuesday.

The new set is called “This One by Ali Edwards.” You can see a few of the stamps from the new set on this peek.

I will share the full card after the 1st when the stamp set in revealed.

Check out Laura and Sharyn’s blogs. I spied peeks of the new set on their blogs, too.

That’s all for now. Be back again soon!

GCD Studios Technique: Super Fun and Cute Clips. Teri style. (7-25)

Hi all!

I’m over on the GCD Studios blog today so I thought I’d share my post here, too.

Short on time this summer for scrapbooking and card making?

Well, I’ve got a fun DIY embellishment for you today that takes just a little bit of time to make but is guaranteed to bring smiles to all that see them.

Today, I am going to show you how to make something I call “super fun and cute” clips.

To make these clips, you are going to need:

* GCD paper

* chipboard

* paper clips

* adhesive (a strong wet glue, or even a glue gun)

And here’s what you do:

1. Start by cutting an image from a piece of patterned paper. I am using paper here from GCD Studios’ The Great Outdoors collection.

2. Adhere the paper to a piece of chipboard. Trim.

3. Flip tile over and lay on a big glob of liquid glue. If you are feeling daring, consider using a glue gun. Set the top of large paper clip right into the glue. Let the glue dry.

4. Flip it over, and there you have it! The end result is this super fun and cute clip!

I am addicted to making these clips. They are fast to make, but they also pack a lot of punch in the “adorableness” category.

I used them to whip up a couple summer-themed cards.

I used two clips on this Relax card.

To add to give the boat clip a little extra pop, I added a small bow tied with Baker’s Twine to it.
All the paper here is from (yep) GCD Studios.

I used two more clips on my See card.

This time, I added some twine to one of the clips.
The paper and the letters are all from GCD Studios’ The Great Outdoors collection.

Paper Smooches/EAD Designs blog hop!

Hi everyone!

It’s a good day for a blog hop.

I’m hanging out with the Paper Smooches gals today for a Paper Smooches/EAD Designs blog hop.

You may have heard that Paper Smooches have partnered up with EAD Designs to make fun rub-ons and stickerz.  We thought that it would be fun to show just how well these products work together!

Meet the card I made for today’s hop.

The words are Sticker-z from EAD Designs, while the images are stamps from Paper Smooches’ Santa Paws set.

They work perfectly together, if I do say so myself. 😉

Blog Hops are more fun when a prize is involved, right?
So leave a comment on my blog and all of the other Paper Smooches design tea members blogs.
All comments received before midnight Pacific time on July 24th is eligible to win a prize pack of both EAD Designs and Paper Smooches stamps.  Visit the Paper Smooches Blog on Monday, July 25th to see if you were the ONE winner chosen.  Know that you do not need to comment on all five design team blogs to qualify.  One comment will do. But if you will have more chances to win with the more comments you make. Good luck!
And what’s up for grabs, you ask? 😉
Well, the prize is:
1 EAD black stickerz sheet (July release)
1 EAD black rub-ons (July release)
1 Paper Smooches stamp set of your choice

Today’s card (7-21)

Hello all!

Another day. Another card.

Meet today’s. 😉

Just playing today and trying different things out.

One of the things I love about card making is you don’t have to stick to the same thing all the time. Cards are the perfect canvas to try out different techniques, designs and styles.  They are great for experimenting.

The text paper is from an old book. I diecut it with a die from Papertrey Ink.

The Gracias is a rub-on by Paper Smooches for EAD Designs.

The rest is just a bunch of random stuff that was left on my desk from other projects.

That’s all for now. Be back soon.

PS…Don’t forget to vote in Round 2 of the Gallery Idol contest. Whoever wins at the end of the contest gets to go on the Paper Crafts Cruise.

Today’s card (7-15)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

A quick little something to share with you today.

I  recently made some cards for a friend of mine and made this card for her as a thank you for asking me to make them for her.

This type of box design has been making the rounds a lot lately in the card world. Love it because it’s so simple and easy to do.

I was somewhat inspired by the last round of Paper Crafts’ Gallery Idol contest, where the editors asked the finalists to make their own embellishments. I decided to make my own flower from flowers for the card. What you don’t see is a big cardstock circle under the little flowers. Between the flowers and the circle is one big honking glob of glue. 😉

The sentiment is stamp from Technique Tuesday’s Loving Words from Ali Edwards stamp set. The flowers, leaf and gems are all from Zva Creative.

That’s all for now. Be back later.
