Zva Creative February DT Blog Hop! (2-28)

Hello, hello!

I’m joining up with the Zva Creative gang today for our February Blog Hop.

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special! There is now an added twist to our blog hops, YAY! As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes’ blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package …YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it’s important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way. The Blog Hop starts today, February 28th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, March 1st and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 2nd on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it’s best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday…plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post…you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer’s blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Enough about the hop’s logistics, let me show you what I made. 😉

Meet today’s card.

I was asked to use pink this time so I used a bunch of Zva’s lines of crystals and pearls. I use them all the time so I had a bunch of packages with a line or two left over. I literally stacked those leftover lines on cardstock to create the blingy pattern here.

I also cut a single pink pearl off one line and used it to do the “i” in the sentiment.

The next stop is the blog of the talented and super nice Nancy Doren! You can get to Nancy’s blog by clicking here. Take it away, Nancy.

And, again, if you get lost along the way during the rest of the hop, be sure to hit Kim’s blog. She’ll get you back on track.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us today, and thank you for stopping by.

Today’s card (2-26)

Hi everyone!

Meet today’s card.

This is a quickie I worked up today for a challenge on a message board to make a card with a bird on it.

For it, I paired together birds from a couple different stamp sets:  Aviary from Technique Tuesday and Fly Free from Lawn Fawn. Totally different style stamps, but I thought they looked kinda cool together. Always good to try something different once in awhile.

The sentiment is also from the Technique Tuesday stamp set.

I finished the whole thing off with some string from Canvas Corp.

That’s all I have to say about this one.

Before I go, I want to give you an itty bitty peek of the new Studio AE stamp set for March from Technique Tuesday.

The set this time is called “Cake and Candles” and has a party theme. The whole shebang will be revealed on the TT Web site on the 1st. Watch my blog for peeks, as well as the blogs of Laura, Sharyn and Nichol.

And… cough. Cough. Cough. I know some of you are Studio AE members and get the Studio AE stamps shipped to you each month so you should lean in close for this piece of juicy piece of gossip. 😉 Cough. Cough. Cough. The TT gals let it slip to me that they are sending a little gift (think of it as a thanks for subscribing gift) with March’s stamp set to Studio AE members. Cool, huh? 🙂

Cough. Cough. Cough.

Well, that is all for now. Be back again soon.

(Dang cough.)

Welcome to the first Paper Smooches blog hop! (2-24)

It’s Pep Rally week in the Paper Smooches world, and we are teaming up today to share a sampling of the newest Paper Smooches stamp release!

Kim’s worked up three new, cool and super cute clear stamp sets that will be available to purchase at 12:01am (mountain time) on March 1st.

There are five of us taking part today in the hop. And to add extra fun to our blog hop…we are offering up a prize! Just leave a comment on any of the five design team blogs listed below for your chance to win one of the three new March stamp sets! (you do not need to comment on all blogs to qualify) You have until midnight MT on Sunday, February 27th to leave a comment. Please check all five blogs on Monday, February 28 to see if you are one of the five lucky winners.

Teri (that’s me!)

Enough mumbo jumbo. Meet my project for the Hop. 🙂

I used the new Spiffy Scooters set here, plus I added a couple gems, a little Baker’s Twine and some Washi tape.

Be sure to check out the rest of the hop for more “in action” shots of the new release.

Thanks for stopping by. Be back later.

Today’s card (2-23)

Hello all!

Sigh. Happy faces. Not to mention, veggies with happy faces. Color me happy.

This one uses a new stamp set from Paper Smooches that comes out in March. It’s called, “Vegtastic.” Hee hee hee! Love the name.

How about a bonus card today, too?

Meet the bonus card. 😉

Never got around to sharing this one.

All the images are from Birthday Buddies, which is also from Paper Smooches. The chipboard banner (and banner flag turned hat) are from My Mind’s Eye.

That’s all for now.

Be back again soon. 🙂

Today’s card (2-17)

Hello, hello!

Meet today’s card.

I used a sketch challenge on one of the stamping message boards as a springboard for making this one.

The patterned papers on it are from Bo-Bunny (blue and peachy orange) and My Mind’s Eye (ledger and text).

The sentiment and girls are from Technique Tuesday’s Life is Good stamp set. I only stamped a small portion of the image with the girls on the text paper.

Here’s what the whole shebang would have looked like had I used it. 😉

Sigh. I love that image. It tugs at my “sometimesalittlebitgrumpybutmostlyhappy” heart.

Everything else on the card is from my stash.

That’s all for now.

Be back again soon. Thanks for stopping by.

PS. Speaking of sketches, Paper Crafts has a new call for submissions up involving lots of sketches for card makers. 😉  Go here to check it out.

Today’s card (2-15)

Hi everyone!

What’s shaking, bacon?

Another day. Another card.

Meet today’s card. 😉

I was messing around with some scraps left over from other projects and came up with this little ditty. It’s really just a simple little card.

All the paper is from GCD Studio’s Soul Food collection.

Speaking of GCD, they have posted their 2011 call for a design team members. You can find all the details by going here. The deadline to apply is March 5th.

I want to encourage y’all to give it a try.

I was on the team this last year and found the experience quite rewarding and fun. I learned a few things about myself along the way, plus made some wonderful friends through the team.

That’s all for now. Be back again soon.

Thanks for cruising by.

Today’s card (2-14)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

Yep. It’s a break from my norm. 😉

I went cluster, pile it on crazy… for me.  It felt good to break from the norm, but let’s say a normal Teri-style card will probably be here the next time I post.

I made this one because of a challenge with my pal, Ashley. She came up with a T&A challenge to make something with these deal of a decade $1 stamps.

I didn’t really use any of the stamps all the way on the card. Just used little bits and pieces of them.

Besides the stamps, I used a sentiment stamp from Technique Tuesday and patterned paper from The Girls’ Paperie and BasicGrey. The rest came from my stash.

Be sure to hit Ashley’s blog to see her take on the challenge. I can hardly wait to see.

That’s all for now. Be back again soon!

Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to stop by.

Today’s cards (2-11)

Hello, hello!

Just sharing a few cards today that I haven’t gotten around to sharing here.

Meet #1.

Meet #2.

And meet #3.

These are all ones I made as samples with some of the new stamps Technique Tuesday debuted at the CHA-W trade show. It was a crazy few weeks of making cards before the show.

But I’ve been a fan of TT for many years now so getting to play with their new stamps early was pretty cool!

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

PS. There’s a new call for submissions at Paper Crafts magazine. Be sure to check it out.
