Go-to Gal Designer Challenge: Lawn Fawn

Hello all!

It’s that time again. It’s Go-to Gal challenge time. (Woot!)

What the scoop with these challenges? Simple. It’s a “for fun” thing with the Go-to Gals. Once a month, we challenge each other to make something with a specific manufacturer’s products. Sometimes, we all play. Sometimes, we don’t. But the important thing is this: We are having fun!

We picked Lawn Fawn this month. I have sat at this post for a good hour, trying to put into words how I feel about Lawn Fawn. So much I want to say, but really it comes down to this: I am a fan. I am a fan of Lawn Fawn and a fan of the folks behind Lawn Fawn. Good, I happy products from really awesome people. I love using Lawn Fawn products for that reason.

So here’s what I made.

lf_hellosunshine_teri

I guess you could say I went a bit hogwild here using a bunch of different Lawn Fawn products to make this little scene: Hello Sunshiine stamp set; Scripty Hello die; Spring Showers die; Grassy border die and Hello Sunshine Petite Paper Pad.

lf_hellosunshine2_teri

It was a lot of fun!

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the crew cooked up.

And that’s all for now.

Today’s card (4-25)

Hi all!

Another day. Another card!

nt_yousorock1_teri

Super pumped to have this one over on the Neat & Tangled blog today. (Thanks again for asking me to make some guest projects for you this month, Danielle!)

This was so, so fun to make!

So I was going for an artsy look. I used plain old dye inks on the Ink Splash stamps. I spritzed them with water and then stamped them on right onto plain old cardstock. The result was kind a cool texture-y, distressed (sorta) look.

nt_yousorock2_teri

The sentiment was the result of me mixing a few stamps from the Sparkle and Shine set togetherl

The sequins are from Neat and Tangled too.

So that’s all I have. Be back later, gators!

Today’s card and stuff (4-21)

Hi all! This is today’s card. PS_Spectrumdies_Awesome_teriThis is a little something I made and never quite posted here with some products from Paper Smooches. The unicorn, sun and words are from their Spectrum stamp set. I also used the coordinating Spectrum steel dies. Fun stuff, right?

And I shared a couple Life Documented (pocket-style) layouts over on the Simple Stories blog the other day. Here’s a peek. April_rightclose2_teriGo here to see more. That’s what I have. See you all again soon!

Today’s card (4-18)

Hi all!

Another day. Another card.

nt_tookind1_teriMade this one for a guest designer stint with the good folks from Neat and Tangled.

Are you familiar with Neat and Tangled? They make awesome stamps and offer a fun selection of sequin mixes! And Danielle, the owner  (and mastermind/genius) of Neat and Tangled, is one super kind, talented gal! I dig her muchly.

nt_tookind2_teri

For this card, I created diamonds patterned paper with watercolor paper. I stamped the Diamonds stamp (from Neat and Tangled… of course) with ink and then sloppily dilluted the color with water. Then, me being me, I couldn’t just let it sit and piled on some embellishments. 😉

The sentiment was created with Neat and Tangled’s Kindness Matters set.

You’ll find this card over on the Neat and Tangled blog too. You’ll find another card I made with their stamps here too! Thanks for inviting me to play, Danielle!

Be back again later, gators.

Today’s card (4-12)

Hi all!

This is today’s card!

ae_makeawish1_teriHad a really good time the other day playing around with the new Storybook stamp set (and steel dies) from Avery Elle. Heather Campbell, my pal/homie, designed them. 😉

One of the things I really love is using products designed by my friends. I don’t know. There’s just something that makes it extra special about, although I do feel a little  extra pressure to make something good with it… because… well, you know. One doesn’t want to be known as the loser friend and all.

ae_makeawish2_teri

To make the background, I scribbled with watercolor crayons on stamping block, doused the color with water and then pulled it down a journaling card cut from watercolor paper. Each of the little critters were die-cut and stamped from good old Neenah cardstock. Then I used watercolor pencils and water to give them a little bit of shading. To give the dots to the deer, I pulled out my trusty white paint pen from Elmer’s. (<—- Love, that thing.)

Anyway, I guess you could say that I just kinda stepped out of the creative box here and had fun. 🙂

Not much else to say so I’ll be back later. Hope you are having a dandy good day!

April Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday (4-10)

Hello, hello!

It’s Studio AE Blog Hop time again! So stoked to be hopping yet again with my TT pals.

Today, we are sharing projects made with the new Good Times by Ali Edwards stamp sets.

Technique-Tuesday-SAE-Good-Times-Clear-Stamps-Medium

And here’s what I made.

It’s a simple little pocket page. Usually when I make pocket pages, they take several hours.

But I decided to play it simple with this one and just focus on putting together a quick, simple page.

SAE_414_SoSoFun1_teriI created the top the card by cutting a piece of vellum and then stamping the Great Memory phrase (from the stamp set) with Versamark ink and then heat embossing it with black embossing powder.I dig that looks a bit like I stamped on the picture.

2_sae_414_sosofun2_teri

There are some other stamped elements here too. The Grid cards were die-cut with Technique Tuesday’s Story Card die and then stamped on top with their coordinating Grid stamp. The Today Was words are from Ali’s This Day Was stamp set (also from Technique Tuesday).

By the way, here’s one other thing I recently made with the stamp set.

1_TT_GridCollegeRuledCards

I just love coloring in those words from the stamp set with pencils.

I again used the Grid stamp on one of the base cards. On the other, I used coordinating College Ruled stamp set to stamp the lines.

Be sure to check out the blogs of everyone hopping today:

There’s a prize up for grabs. We are going to give away one $25 e-Gift Card to TechniqueTuesday.com to someone who comments during the hop. To be eligible to win, all you need to do is comment on any of our blog posts! The lucky winner will be announced on the 15th on the Technique Tuesday blog.

Today’s card (4-9)

Hello again!

Just a “for the fun of all things fun” card to share today! 😉

This is today’s card.

blog_swm_thinkingofyou1_teri

I used Lori’s faux watercolor technique to give the hexagons color. I stamped them with Distress Inks and then sloppily spread the color with a wet paintbrush. The beauty of watercolor is that it’s totally forgiving whether you are sloppy or not. In other words, it’s my kind of technique! 😉 (Remember: I stink at coloring. Wink.)

The lines just good old embroidery floss.

blog_swm_thinkingofyou2_teriBy the way, the stamps I used are A Creative Journey with Melissa. The hexagon is from Melissa’s Design Elements set, while the words are from her Outside and In – Sentiments set.

So that’s what I have for you today. Be back again later, gators.

Have an awesome day!

PS. Time’s running out to take part in the Styling with Stencils Challenge over on Moxie Fab World. Go here for all the deets. You have until Friday to work up an entry. A whopping 153 projects have already been entered. Good heavens! That’s a lot of stencil action.

Today’s card (4-6)

Hello again!

Another day. Another card. Hooray.

blog_itis1_teri

I had so much fun making this.Tried to step out of my comfort zone here and do some different stuff.

Believe it or not, the card isn’t really floating. I actually made the base from a clear transparency.

The “It Is…” panel is from Jillibean Soup. I added the stitch marks to it and then plopped it onto a printed Project Life card to add a little subtle color.

blog_itis2_teri

The butterflies, too, are from Jillibean Soup. I tried to sauce them up a bit by stitching the lines.

So someone could actually write a message in this card (because  that would be like… nice, you know), I adhered a blank journaling card inside the card.

Be back again later, y’all!

Today’s card (4-4)

Hello all!

On your mark. Get set. This is today’s card.

A card made with products frm Simon Says Stamp

Ta-da!

The row of star were cut with a new die (called Star Parade) from the new release for Simon Says Stamp! that is debuting today. Just love the die. Love, love stars. Can’t wait to see more of the release.

I die-cut the line of stars twice – once from cardstock and once from vellum. And then I just did a bunch of layering to get the funky look you see.

The paper is from Echo Park Paper, the wood stars are from Studio Calico and the stamped words are from the Birthday Messages set (also from Simon Says Stamp!).

SSS_Starsbday2_teri

And that’s what I have. I’ll be back again later, gators.

A Blog Named Hero Blog Hop (4-1)

white-frameHi all!

Thrilled to be joining my friends over at A Blog Named Hero for a celebratory blog hop in honor of the blog’s second birthday! Happy birthday, guys!

In honor of the big day, here’s a little something birthday’ish I made.

EatDrink1_teri

All the words from stamp sets from Hero Arts: OWH Dude; Everyday Sayings and Year Round Sentiments. The hexagons are dies from Simon Says Stamp!

So my goal for this card was to do things in grouping of 2 (2 sentiments, 2 different kinds of embellishments, 2 layers, 2 whatever). Yeah, I sorta failed miserably and didn’t limit myself to 2. But, hey, I had fun! That’s half the battle, right? 😉

eatdrink2_teri So that’s what I have for you.

Here’s a complete list of everyone hopping today:
