PS-StitchedCircleDie-Teri

Just played to play when I made this card. I used the stitched circle die to make the cross stitch panel. Then I used the new Embroidery Hoop dies with it to frame the circle. I did place a solid circle of black cardstock behind it so one could see the stamped and stitched coffee cup design.

The coffee cup was stamped with the new In Stitches stamp set. Then I used embroidery floss to stitch over the pattern. Took quite awhile for me (a non-stitcher) but it was awfully fun to do!

By the way, you might be wondering about the words. I stamped those bad boys with the Cyber Cafe stamp set. Such a fun one.

Alright! That’s all I have for you for now. Be back again later, gators. Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Advent Calendar Extravaganza with Taheerah Atchia

Advent Calenda ExtravaganzaAdvent-Calendar-Extravaganza-2017

Hi guys!

Join in the fun every day at taheerah-atchia.com to see what special surprises await behind the door!”

I’m excited to share with you a card today created with some Paper Smooches stamps and dies. Meet today’s card… and my contribution to the Extravaganza.

AdventCard2018-Teri

This was so fun to make! I took images and dies from a couple different Paper Smooches stamp sets and dies sets – Swanky Snowdudes and Cool Dudes. And I kinda just crafted the scene together.

The yellow background was created by sponging a soft yellow ink in a circle onto the cardbase. And then I “grounded” the snow people by applying some black ink with a sponge to the ground.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com The card didn’t feel complete without some extra details so I stamped a couple snowflakes and added some enamel dots to the middle of them. I also added a couple sequins and some dots created with Glossy Accents (how I LOVE them).

Alrighty, friends. That’s what I have for you but there’s more to the Extravaganza!

As Taheerah says, “It’s not a party without a prize – and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by Paper Smooches so you’ll definitely want to win! Simply leave a comment on this post – then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too! You must leave a comment on Taheerah’s blog as well as mine in order to be eligible to win! Don’t forget to grab the other surprise destinations from Taheerah’s blog and head over to them to leave comments there as well to improve your odds even more! You have until 23:59 EST on 31st December 2017 to enter.

Don’t forget Advent Calendar Extravaganza runs from 1st-25th December inclusive so make sure you visit taheerah-atchia.com every day for fabulous inspiration and amazing prizes every single time! Merry Christmas!”

Thanks again for stopping by, guys! You are the BEST!

Paper Smooches DT Blog Hop

Let me show you the card.

A handmade card by Teri for Paper Smooches // terisplace.wordpress.com

Just played when I made this guy. Created the background with the new Wine dies. Cut them all out from white cardstock, adhere them to a white card and then sponged a couple Oxide Inks (Ranger) onto it. Then I spritzed on a little water and patted things dry with a trusty dusty paper towel.

The sentiment is from the new All Year Cheer stamp set. If you are a card maker, this set is an “all-around perfect for making TONS of different cards” kind of set. It’s got all KINDS of occasions covered.

A handmade card by Teri for Paper Smooches // terisplace.wordpress.com Oh yeah, I wanted the card to have a little glitz too so I slapped on a couple sequins. No real rhyme or reason to where I plopped them.

Alright, friends. That’s all I have for you. I’ll be back again soon. Thanks, as always, for stopping by. Happy hopping!

Today’s cards (11-13)

Hi guys!

Me again. Big surprise, right?

A couple more cards to share today. Broke my Christmas card binge with a couple non-Christmas cards. Made both of these just for fun.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Both of these use the Baby Birds stamp set and coordinating dies from Paper Smooches. I stamped and cut a bunch of these at a craft night a week or so ago with some of my friends and then came home and colored them over the weekend.

I literally had this whole stack of birds, waiting to go on cards. So I messed around (well, dinked around) and figured out how to arrange all four of them together to fit on one card. The result? Two cards. Kinda fun, right?

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

One thing I feel to compelled to stay is back when I was a wee cardmaker and scrapbooker, I felt like I always had to color things exactly as they are in the real world. So like the little toucan dude, I would have gone to EXTREME lengths to color him with the proper colors. As I’ve become old and grumpy…. errr… a more experienced crafter…. I’ve gotten away from that and started coloring things with colors that make me happy. It’s kinda freeing to just do your thing and run with it. Anyway…

Alright! That’s what I have for you. I’ll be back again later this week, friends. See you again soon.

Today’s cards (11-10)

Hi guys!

A few more cards from Christmas card binge to share today. (Be sure to check the posts from the last couple days to see more cards from the binge.)

On your mark. Get set. Goooo!

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Brrrr. Sorry, couldn’t resist. 😉

Whipped out a couple Paper Smooches stamp sets to make these cards. I used the Freezy Fellas stamp set & coordinating dies and Cool Dudes stamp set.

Went with a soft color combo here rather than a full-on red and green Christmas combo. The mint is just so pretty! And the pink/super soft red looks so nice with it. I wasn’t really sure at first, but once I set the snow family on my first card, I was hooked. Definitely going to try that color combo again sometime.

SnowmanTrio-Close-Teri

To make the snowflakes stand out, I added a little drop Nuvo to center of each one. Plus I added a few drops at the side of each snowflake. The cards felt pretty flat before I did it, but I think the subtle dropping adds just the right amount of dimension.

Alright! That is all I have for you today, friends. Be back later, gators.

PS_WithSympathyDie_teri

Ooh la la!

Made this one with the new With Sympathy die. Not exactly a fun occasion to make cards for, but an important reason to make cards for. Having lost both of my parents in the

I created the background by brushing watercolors on watercolor paper and then splattering on some water drops and blowing them dry with my heat gun.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

To add to the watery feel of the card (is there such a thing?), I dripped on a few drops of Glossy Accents around and near the flourishes.

Alright! Hope you enjoy the hop.

Thanks for stopping by today, friends!
