Let’s see the card!

A stamped friendship card by Teri | terisplace, wordpress, com

I created this card using several new products: the Thinking of You die; the Sunflower die; and the Savvy Stencil. I also used the “friend” word from the Delightful Greetings stamp set.

I added the patterns the back of the card with a little ink and the stencil. To create the flower, I die-cut it from white cardstock. I then used a bunch of markers to add color to it. To borrow a phrase from my friend, Kathy, I “color plucked” from my basket of markers, meaning I just grabbed Copic markers that looked good rather than follow any numeric formula for color blending.TeriThinkingofYouDie-2

To give the sentiment a little extra pop, I used white Nuvo Crystal Drops to add a few dots to the words. I like the subtle texture.

Alright! That is it for me. Thanks so much for taking part in today’s hop… and leaving your kinds words! It’s always such a treat!

Coffee Card No. 2

Hi, all!

Back again with another caffeine-inspired card. Super happy to be linking it up the latest Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop too! (So many great projects have been shared so far! Great job everyone!)

Boba Tea Card by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

Created this card with the Caffeinated stamp set from Paper Smooches. I had colored in the tea glass and little fellas a bit back, but I never used on a project. Totally inspired by the hop to pull them out and put them on a card.HelloCuteTeaCard-2-teri

The patterned papers are from my big old box of scraps. Anyone else out there still keep a box of paper scraps? I honestly can’t remember the last time I picked up much new patterned paper. Have so much older stuff (but still dang good) stuff to use.

Oh and the sentiment! Created the custom sentiment by mixing together words from the Caffeinated set and the Caffeinated Two set.

Alright! That is it for me! Hope you enjoyed checking out my card! Don’t forget to check out ALL the awesome cards uploaded to the hop. So, so many good ones!

Coffee Card No. 1

73190735_10221255663291705_3948054824632713216_n.jpg

Hi, everyone!

It’s “that time” again… blog hop time with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers! I LOVE this hope because it inspires me to pull out my coffee stamps and play so consider this your warning. I’ll be sharing quite a few coffee cards over the next week or so as the inspiration juju is flowing strong! Get ready for it! (Wink!)

Anyway, here’s my first card for the latest hop!

A stamped coffee card by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

I had a few scraps of patterned paper left on my desk from other recent projects so I simply took them and plopped them on a card created from kraft cardstock. Then I pulled out a couple Paper Smooches stamp sets and stamped the coffee cups, hearts and steam, partly on the patterned paper strips and partly on the card. Rather than using markers, I used colored pencils to add a little “rough” color to the cups. I didn’t fuss over perfection. I simply wanted to add a little color, hence the “embrace imperfection” look of this card. HelloMochaChocaCard-2-teri

I finished the card by adding the sentiments to it. To make the “mocha” phrase not run into the “hello” word, I simply stamped it on a strip of cardstock. Always a fun way to add a little visual interest to a card. I also added a few dots with Nuvo Crystal Drops. Love those things.

Alrighty, guys! This is it for me. I’ll be back again later with another card to share with you.

And don’t forget to take some time and check out the hop over the next few days. There’s always a great deal of inspiration shared. All kinds of styles, all kinds of images too. It’s always so fun to see what everyone comes up with… and just how many projects everyone makes in honor of the hop.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi, guys!

I’m happy to be blog hopping today with the Paper Smooches design team and Coffee Loving Cardmakers team today. We’re sharing some card ideas that are sure to “buzz” your creative juices… or maybe even “perk up” your day.

Without any more delay, here’s my card for the hop!

Ta-da! It’s a new card, created just for the hop. I used a couple different Paper Smooches stamp sets: Daddy Yo 2 and Hot Concoctions for all the images.

Thought it would be fun to dress up the coffee cups. To save on time though, I stamped them on patterned paper before cutting them out with a die.

The sentiment was created by pairing together words from the Caffeinated stamp set.

Alright. So that’s it for today’s card.

Don’t forget to keep buzzing along and blog hopping for more card inspiration… plus you’ll also get a chance to win a prize for leaving comments along the way. .

A Harry Potter Boba Tea card made by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

I had a super strong desire to create a Harry Potter-inspired card so I stamped the glassed on the Boba Tea cup (all from the Caffeinated stamp set). Then I used a black pen to draw a mark like Harry’s onto the top of the glass.

I didn’t have a wand stamp, but there are some super cute stars in the So Fairy Cute stamp set. I stamped a whole bunch of those to add the “magical” feeling of the card.

TeriCaffeinatedTwoStampSet-CLOSE.jpg

The sentiment was created by pairing the “bobalicious” word from the Caffeinated Two stamp set with the “you are” from one of the stamps in the Caffeinated set.

Anyway, thought it turned out pretty fun! Looking forward to sending this card to one of my friends.

Alright! That’s it for today. Thanks again, friends, for stopping by. I always appreciate your kind words. See you again real soon.

UnbeLEAFably Fun Cards

Hi, friends!

Alright. So I might be pushing it on the title of this post, but I wanted to share with you a trio of cards I created with the latest STAMPtember stamp set from Simon Says Stamp! Releasing today is the new Deco Fall set by Paper Smooches. It’s a sweet little set with leaves, a pumpkin, an acorn and a few phrases. You’ll find it and all the other STAMPtember products right here.

I really wanted to focus on the leaves for these cards and challenged myself to make three different (but somewhat similar) cards.

Stamped Fall leaf cards by Teri | Terisplace.wordpress.com

For all three cards, I lined up several of the leaf stamps on my MISTI and then inked them up with three different colors. For this first one, I stamped the leaves twice, once on white cardstock and once on a strip of kraft cardstock. Then I lined them up and assembled the card.

TeriAnderson-DecoFallStampSet-2

This card is probably the most basic of the three with me only stamping my row of leaf stamps once onto the card. That plaid pattern at the bottom? Created that in coordinating colors with Paper Smooches’ Buffalo Check stencil and good ol’ inking. TeriAnderson-DecoFallStampSet-3

I created this final card by stamping row of leaf stamps once on kraft cardstock. Then I rotated the panel and stamped them a second time on the opposite side of the panel. The sentiment strip? I simply cut a piece of white cardstock, stamped one phrase with orange ink and then stamped a second phrase on top with black ink.

By the way, since I really wanted the leaves to shine on these cards, I restrained myself from adding too many embellishments to the cards. I purposely kept things pretty simple by added stitches, thread and sequins. Such a light but nice finishing touch they add.

That is it for me today. I hope you’ve enjoyed checking out these cards. I’ll be back again really soon with some more projects to share with you!

A Little Bit of Halloween Fun

Looking for my Sunny Studio 4th Birthday Blog Hop post? it’s the post right below this one!

Hi, friends! Shake it, shake it off… or something like that.  🙂

I’m  up over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog with a new tutorial! I’m showing how to make a shaker card, as well as a coordinating shaker tag, that would be perfect to add to a Halloween treat.

A Halloween Shaker Card and Tag by Teri | terisplace,wordpress.com

These two little shakers took a little bit of time to make, but they would be easy to reproduce with supplies you have. I’d sure be tickled if you’d check out the post.

By the way, if you want more Halloween paper craft inspiration, don’t miss this post as well. You’ll find a sweet little Halloween card I put together. You’ll also get a tip for holding stencils in place while you use them to apply ink to paper.
