Today’s card

Hi guys!

Merry Christmas to all of you!

I’m joining my friends over at My Favorite Things today in sharing a holiday card.

A card made with steel dies & stamps from My Favorite Things

I decided to play on the whole red cup thing for the holidays and made my own red cup with the Coffee Cup Die-namics. And just for fun, I stitched floss through the star on the sleeve.

The polka dot pattern was created by inking up the Swiss Dots Background stamp with white ink and then stamping the cup onto it.

Print

The sentiment on my card is from the Cozy Greeting stamp set. Oh, and the kraft rectangle was cut with the Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics. LOVE them so much.

By the way, be sure to check out the MFT blog to see all of the cards the design team cooked up for today’s post!

Today’s cards

Hi all!

I’ve got a few cards to share with you today.

Lean in close, friends, because I’m going to keep it real for a minute: I’m still thinking about addressing Christmas cards. Yep. Christmas is next week and I’m still thinking about it. And, by saying thinking about it, I was like, “Yeah. I could probably use a few more cards in my pile to do that.” So that’s what I did. 😉 I raided my DIY Christmas stash (from Simple Stories) and made a couple more cards for the Christmas card stash-a-roo.

This is #1.

blog_SS_xmas3_teri

This is #2.

blog_ss_xmas2_teri

And this is #3.

blog_ss_xmas1_teriStanding back and looking at all three of them, I’d have it was fun to mix a bunch of stuff together and see what I came up with. I kinda like how they turned out.

I’ll be back again tomorrow. Hope to see you then.

MFT Creative Challenge: Warm Fuzzy Felt

Hi guys!

So I’m joining up with my design team pals from My Favorite Things today for this month’s Creative Challenge. This month’s challenge is all about felt.

Print

I’ve been on a card binge for awhile so decided to live on the edge and make something a little out of my norm this time. What? What,  you ask? Well, friend. I made a trio of Christmas ornaments.

Ornaments by Teri Anderson

Oh yeah!

These were really fun to make! I die-cut all the snowflakes with MFT’s Pierced Snowflakes Die-namics from Bubblegum felt.

And then I die-cut the squares from cardstock and felt using a combination of the Pinking Edge Square STAX Die-namics and Stitched Square STAX Die-namics.

Print

To make each snowflake unique, I added a little hand-stitching. I pierced holes through the base and then brought floss through the holes. Had I not pierced holes first, I definitely would have crinkled up my ornaments by trying to force the needle through the paper.

And even though I didn’t use a lot of materials on these ornaments, you’ll notice they have quite a bit of layers to them.

Print

By the way, to keep things looking professional, I die-cut another rectangle to place on the back of the ornaments after I added gold thread hangers to them. This will give you a hint of what they look like from the backside.

Print

I think it also helps make them more sturdy so I’ll be able to use these on my tree again and again rather than just a year or two.

Print

So that’s what I have for you today.

Here’s a list of MFT supplies I used to make my ornaments:

Be sure to check out the MFT blog to see who else from the team are sharing projects today.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by guys! It’s always a thrill when you do.

Today’s card

Hi guys!

Another day. Another card.

Blog_PCS_ThinkingSkyline_teri

This is another one I made for Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine. It had been scheduled for their March 2015 issue.

I die-cut all those buildings and the rainbow with a couple dies from Paper Smooches. Then I painstakingly (meant in a loving way) pieced the yellow windows into them.

The words are from Simon Says Stamp!… I think. I can’t remember so let’s just go with that. 😉

Blog_PCS_ThinkingSkyline2_teri

So that’s all I have today. I’ll be back again later.

Today’s card

Hi all!

Just a card to share today.

blog_pcs_hellocircles1_teri

Made this one a bit back for an assignment for what would have been the Card to Page column in the June 2015 issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking.

I made the card and then Laina was going to make a scrapbook page inspired by it. I was so looking forward to that. Love Laina’s pages!

I dig circles so I went circle crazy, cutting out circles from a piece of Bella Blvd. paper. And that woodgrain paper? Also from Bella Blvd. It makes my heart go pitter patter.

blog_pcs_hellocircles2_teri

To give the card a little extra personality, I randomly added some embellishments and then die-cut the “hello” word a couple times with a Lawn Fawn die. Fun + happy = works well with Bella Blvd. stuff.

Speaking of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking, Jennifer wrote a post an informative post on Paper Crafts Connection about subscriptions and the end of the magazine. You can check it out here.

I also wrapped up Moxie Fab World with this post here.

A couple things I’d like to say that I didn’t say in the MFW post that I think I’d like to say here. Thank you to my buddies, Lisa and Ashley, who listened as I debated over why or why not to write for Moxie Fab World. And thank you to my Go-to Gal pals, Heather and Kimberly, who both assured me that I could do it. And thank you to Jennifer, who surprised me by approaching me about MFW and just let me do my Teri thing with it, and to Stacy, who helped me so much behind the scenes with support. Taking on a blog (especially one like MFW) requires a lot of work (and a lot of time) that many folks don’t see. It’s a really big commitment to make it happen and having support makes a huge difference.

Also, a big thank you to all of you who joined me over there this last year. We had a great time, didn’t we? 🙂

Alright so that’s all I have today! I’ll be back again later.

By the way, keep checking in. I’ll have a blog candy opportunity in the next couple days or so.

MFT Release Rewind

Hello again!

I’m back yet again with a few more projects made with the December release from My Favorite Things. So much fun stuff.

Print

So let’s get this party started!

Print

Totally dig the new Peek-a-Boo Circle Windows Die-namics. So I used one of the dies to cut a circle out of the middle panel here.

I was feeling a little wild so … ha… I stamped used the Zebra Background stamp to stamp a little pattern onto the green paper underneath it.

Print

And you might be wondering about those banners? Well, they are actually one itty bitty banner from the Blueprints 21 Die-namics. I just cut one and cut in half to make two. I think it’s kinda fun!

Print

I went on a bit of an arrow binge here and cut a ton of arrows with the Go With It Die-namics. Arrows = fun, fun, FUN! Look really close at that big blue one. You’ll see I layered a smaller arrow onto it. Just something a little different to do.

Print

Yes, arrows… again! 🙂 My name is Teri, and I am an arrow addict. Hee!

One thing that is kinda cool about this card is I used the Blueprints 21 Die-namics to create a lot of the base elements —- the rectangle, the half circle and the small circles.

And here’s one card for you.

Print

Remember back on day 1 or 2 of the countdown when I confessed my LOVE for all things Pierced Star STAX Die-namics related? Yeah. The love is still there. I really built this card around that large star, trying to make everything support it. From the gems to the circle to the words, I wanted it all to really land on that fun star.

Print

I have a sinking strong feeling you are going to see those stars show up on a lot of my projects in the future. 🙂

OK so that’s what I have for you.

Here’s a list of the MFT products I used to make these cards:

I’m not the only MFT fan sharing stuff today. Be sure to hit the MFT Blog to see who else from the design team is sharing projects today!

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back again tomorrow.

MFT Countdown: December Launch

And we have lift-off!

The December release from My Favorite Things is now available. You can see all the new stuff here.

Print

I’m excited to share with you a few things I made with a couple of the new products: the Emmitt Alphabet Die-namics and Emmitt Numbers & Symbols Die-namics. So let’s get started.

Print

For this first card, I cut a bunch of letters and numbers with the two products to add a design in the circle. I also used the alphabet dies to create the sentiment.

Print

I’ve always liked when typography is used more as a decorative element so it was fun to try that out with this card.

Print

For this card, I lined all the numbers up and cut them into a panel. Then I added a few random numbers into the openings.

Print

Can’t say there’s really any rhyme or reason, other than I just went with my gut! Sometimes, the gut works. 😉

Print

I played things simple on this card, creating a simple sentiment for this card. I think these dies pack a lot of punch. It’s just a dang good font that mixes and matches with other design elements well.

Finally, here’s one more card.

Print

I had a bunch of letters and numbers leftover from my other projects so I threw caution to the wind here and just arranged them in a random pattern. Kinda fun, huh?

So here’s a list of MFT products I used to make these cards today.

Be sure to hit the MFT Blog to see who else from the design team is sharing projects today.
And thanks, as always, for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

MFT Countdown: 1

We meet again! 🙂

I’ve got a few more projects to share with you that were made with December’s release from My Favorite Things.

NewReleaseCountdown_Day1

Say hello to card #1.

Print

I created this guy with the help of the new Friend Die-namics. What’s cool about it? Well, you can take a card front, set it on it, run it through your die-cutting machine and you’ll get a cool panel with a word cut out of it. You can use it plain or you can sauce it up a little like I did here.

I cut out a circle with the new Peek-a-Boo Cricle Die-namics and then added some circles and  a star cut with the Blueprints 21 and Pierced Star STAX Die-namics.

Print

And I finished the card off with a sentiment stamped with the Friends Like Us stamp set.

And say hello to card #2.

Print

For this one, I stamped  a pattern with the Giraffe Background stamp set on top. And then I used some of the same cards as the last to ever-so-slightly sauce things up.

Print

Here’s a list of MFT supplies I used to make these cards:

Once again, be sure to stop by the MFT blog to see who all is playing (and sharing projects) today!
