Season’s Givings Blog Hop (1-1)

SeasonsGivingsimage

Hi all!

Happy New Year!

I’m joining some of my favorite crafty friends out there for the Season’s Givings Blog Hop!

I’ve got a mystery box of crafty goods to give to one of you.

photo(39)

This box was still growing at post writing deadline time (wink!), but here’s a peek of some of the stuff you’ll find inside it! There’s stamps, paper, stickers, embellishments, Project Life stuff, little trinkets and more. Whether you are a card maker or scrapbooker, I think you’ll find something in this box to play with!  🙂

Leave a comment for me by Jan. 4th, and I’ll pick one of you to take home the goods!

By the way, here’s one of my first card for 2014. Well, or I guess it’s technically it’s my last card for 2013 since I’m writing this post on 12/31. 😉

It was made this one with All My Heart by Ali Edwards, the January Studio AE stamp set from Technique Tuesday, and a few other little things.

Hard to see but I did use my trusty sewing machine to add a little stitch line around the stamped word blocks.

So that’s what I’ve got!

Oh… ha! Before I go, here’s a link of everyone hopping today!

(which means that you have up to three extra chances to win on each blog)

Alright. So let me show you what I cooked up for the hop!

PS_TalkBubbles_Bday1_teri

I was challenged to make something with the new Talk Bubbles stamp set. The large stamped bubble and the “happy birthday” sentiment” are from the set. I used the new Talk Bubbles dies to cut the smaller bubbles!

It’s no secret that I sorta like to mix and match things together… and might have be a bad secret keeper (Sorry, Kim! Wink!)… so I also used a couple other Paper Smooches’ stamp sets on this guy: the new & coming in January Scripty Sayings set for the Celebrate word and the classic Birthday Buddies set for the beaver.

PS_Talkbubbles_bday2_teri

So that’s what I have for you!

Happy hopping to you today! Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

12 in 12: Day 12 (12-14)

And bam!

The finale of the 12 in 12 Christmas Card Challenge is here.

And bam again! Here is the card that I like to call, No. 12.

12in12_12_merryholiday1_teri

Just had “no holds barred” fun here and did some random clustering with gems, word tiles and circles  (from Me & My Big Ideas and Crate Paper).

12in12_12_merryholiday2_Teri

Really love the random look of all those things together. I guess it’s that organized freestyle collage look again. 😉

The papers are from Pebbles, Echo Park Paper, Simple Stories and Becky Higgins.

And, dang, that’s all I have for you.

So like that, 12 in 12 is done for this year.

Be sure to check out Ashley’s final post. I’m sure it will be rad.

12 in 12: Day 11 (12-13)

Hi again!

Almost to the end of the 12 in 12 Christmas Card Challenge.

Here is Day 11.

12in12_11_Noel1_teri

In a stretch of wondering if I’ll ever get a few things on my to-do list done with the holidays so quickly approaching. I think I can. I think I can.

This one was a quickie. I’m pretty sure I spent more time adhering things into place than thinking it out. 😉

12in12_11_noel2_Teri

The papers are from Simple Stories and Pebbles. The stickers are from Simple Stories, too. The other stuff is from my stash.

Be sure to check out Ashley’s blog. She’s been rocking this challenge. I’m sure today will not disappoint.

12 in 12: Day 10 (12-12)

(Busy couple days here on the blog-a-roo. If you are looking for my December Studio AE from Technique Tuesday blog post, go here.)

Hi all!

Day 10 is here. Boy, it seems like Ashley and I just started our 12 in 12 challenge.

This is today’s card!

12in12_10_Hohoho_teriThrew caution to the wind and went freestyle here. I guess you could say it’s more freestyle with some some order to it.

The base paper is from Pebbles and the embellishments are a mixture of stuff from different folks (Me & My Big Ideas, My Mind’s Eye and Michaels).

12in12_10_Hohohoclose_TeriLooking forward to seeing what Ashley’s cooked up today! Go, Ashley, go!

Be back tomorrow.

PS. The first ever monthly, digital issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine is out now. I was pleasantly pleased with the first issue! My first reaction was,
“Wow! It is huge!”  There were over 100 pages, and there aren’t just projects in it. There are tutorials and videos, too. Not sure what I expected, but I’m looking forward to seeing next month’s!

12 in 12: Day 9 (12-11)

Here we are… once again!

Say hello to my take on Day 9 in the 12 in 12 Christmas Card Challenge.

12in12_9_tree1_Teri

This card looks all simple, but … golly… it so is not.

I’ve been all window happy here for the last few weeks and decided to make a window inspired card.

So I took a white cardstock panel, cut a window out of it and then mounted the Christmas tree overlay (from Simple Stories’ December Documented collection) in it.

Then, things got complicated. 😉

I mounted some blue patterned paper (also from Simple Stories’ December Documented collection) to a card and then slapped the window panel on top with foam dots.

I present to you, Exhibit A.

12in12_9_tree3_teri

Once I did that, I went about my way by embellishing up this bad boy. I added some epoxy dots to the tree and a stamped sentiment on a strip of cardstock. Once again, I pulled out my trusty Jingle All the Way by Ali Edwards stamp set from Technique Tuesday to do the sentiment work.

12in12_9_tree2_Teri

It never disappoints.

And with that, my friends, means you have reached the end of this card post.

Don’t miss Ashley’s take on Day 9!

PS. I’m over on Paper Crafts Connection today, sharing some tips.

Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll see over there.

Hope you’ll consider checking it out. 🙂

December Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

Hi all!

Another day. Another Studio AE Blog Hop. (Woo-to-the-hoo!)

We are going to town today with the new Great Memory by Ali Edwards stamp set, which starts shipping today!

Technique-Tuesday-Great-Memory-SAE-Clear-Stamps-Medium

I’ve got three projects to share with you today! My initial thought was to make a scrapbook page with the set. But I decided to walk on the wild side and challenged myself to make something card/paper crafter’ish with this set. So here we go.

Meet #1.

2_TT_BestEver_teri

This one also uses a couple phrases from TT’s Howdy stamp set.

Meet #2.

2_TT_YouAre_Teri

I must admit that I am a total mix and matcher so I did pull out a couple more stamp sets to use with this one, too. The “You Are” is from the Incredible by Ali Edwards stamp set, while the “You are a star!” phrase and mini banner is from the Seal Companion – Star stamp set.

And (finally) meet #3.

2_TT_LoveCandyPackages_Teri

These little treat bags really happened because I had stamped a few extra images from the set and thought, “Hey, how would that look on a treat package?”

The little bags are just good old Glassine envelopes stuffed with a couple Tootsie Roll candies. I colored the tags in with markers and then just folded them over the bags. I popped a hole each of them with my Crop-a-dile tool and added a little bit of twine. Talk about easy peasy!

Alright, so there you have it.

Be sure to check out all today’s blog hoppers. (They are an awesome group of gals!)

We are going to give away one $25 gift certificate to someone who comments during the hop so be sure to comment as you go. To be eligible to win, all you need to do is comment on any of our blog posts!  The lucky winner will be announced on the 15th on the Technique Tuesday blog.

Thank you, as always, for stopping by!

12 in 12: Day 8 (12-10)

Yep! I’m back.

Day 8 of 12 in 12 is here.

Meet today’s (Christmas) card!

12in12_8_merry1_teri

This one came together unbelievably quick! I had been using Simple Stories’ December Documented collection and had some bits and pieces that leftover that I thought would make a nice card!

The Merry & Bright panel is actually an overlay from their 12×12 paper kit. I just cut it down to fit on my card panel. Sorta kinda love the look.

12in12_8_merry2_teri

To spruce things up a bit, I did add a line of sparkly glitter at the top of the striped strip of paper. I also added a brad toward the bottom. I always like the look of dots on half circles. I think it sometimes really helps ground a design.

And with that, you’ve got No. 8. Be sure to check out what Ashley’s blog. I’m excited to see what she made today.

PS. So lucky to get to share some tips over in Ellen Hutson’s CLASSroom as part of her annual 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.

Here’s a sneak peek of the tag I cooked up that Ellen shared on Monday. 461a9962610311e3a60712f79d4fee0f_8

Go here to see the post with the tag and a … lot… of techniques! 🙂

12 in 12: Day 7 (12-9)

Hi all!

We meet once again. So glad you are back!

So I’m over the halfway hump and in the final stretch of 12 in 12. (Ashley, my partner in challenge happiness, how you doing out there?)

So here’s my take on Day 7.

1_HappyChristmas_teri

Ta-da! (Yes, a little dramatic effect does a post good, don’t you think?)

The wreath was created with a stamp from Neat and Tangled’s Simple Christmas set. My stamping was a little chaotic here so I added a few pearls and a twine bow (using twine from Whisker Graphics) to balance things out.

1_HappyChristmas2_teri

The sentiment is from Jingle All the Way by Ali Edwards, one of my all-time favorite Christmas sets from Technique Tuesday. Such a delicious mix of fonts and sayings. Great for card makers and scrapbookers.

Alright. So with that, Day 7 is D.O.N.E. Be sure to see what Ashley made today! She’s been rocking out this challenge!

Be back again tomorrow.

(PS. Tuesday is Studio Blog Hop day for December so I’ll have 2 posts.)

12 in 12: Day 6 (12-8)

And here we go again.

Another 12 in 12 card.

12in12_6_1_teri

Ta-da!

Made this guy almost entirely with Avery Elle’s Let It Snow stamp set. Just plain love the stamp set!

I created the snow by stamping set’s snow background stamp on the panel. Then, I pulled out my old, long-forgotten friend, my bottle of white Liquid Applique. I put little dots on top, heated them up with my heat gun and got the little pom poms of snow.

12in12_6_2_teri

Kinda fun, right?

So that concludes Day 6! Can’t wait to see what Ashley cooked up for our “half-way through the challenge” day!

Be back again tomorrow.
