A handmade card for Paper Smooches by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

So I used a couple new dies to make this card – the Religious Words 2 dies and the Dove die.

All the hearts and crosses (and word) were cut with the Religious 2 Words dies, while the dove was cut with the Dove die. I know, you are like, “Duh, Teri. Duh.” Wink.

I cut each piece from watercolor paper and then added a little watercolor paint on top. I wanted a distressed look so I splattered on some water drops. To speed up the drying process, I pulled out my old friend, my trusty dusty heat gun. Love that thing still after all these years. 😉

So that’s what I have for you. I’ll be back later. Imagine that in a Terminator-style voice. Wink!

Have fun hopping today! I appreciate you stopping by.

Today’s card (6-28)

Hi guys!

I’m back with another card to share with you.

Ta-da!

Made this happy little dude for Paper Smooches a bit back using some of their latest products – the Kindness Sampler stamp set and the Cactus die. I also used the Borders 1 dies and the Hearts dies.

To give the cactus and his dish the distressed look, I colored in the cactus and bowl with dye ink pads. Yep. I went all lazy, just taking a sponge and then sponging the ink on them. After that I dropped some water onto the panels and let things dry (because I lack patience when it comes to ink and all) with my heat gun. I think the end result looks pretty cool.

You might be wondering about the patterned paper? It’s from Lawn Fawn.

Alrighty! That’s all I have for now. Back later, gators.

Today’s card (6-24)

Hi guys!

Just a fun card to share today!

A handmade card for Technique Tuesday by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Made this one a bit back for Technique Tuesday using the new Phyllis & Finn stamp set and coordinating dies. If you haven’t been by their website lately, be sure to stop on by and check out their Animal House stamps. The Animal House stamps are a cute new collection of stamps launched this year that feature… you guessed it…. animals and other cute critters.

One of my favorite, favorite, favorite things about the Animal House stamps is each critter has a bio. I “personally” (wink wink) know the bio writer. Might even be her. Shhhh. 😉 Here’s the bio for Phyllis and Finn. They are real fitness fin-actics, who love splashing around, you know. 😉

So this little card took a little while to make as it’s a shaker. To add a little twist to my shaker, I cut notches into the panel to bring the string across it. Kinda fun and different.

Real, real, real basic coloring here. The fun stuff is the wiggly eyes. Just something about the fun that wiggly eyes adds to a stamped critter. Anyone else out there agree with me?

Alright. This is all I have for you. Be back again later, gators.

Today’s card (6-8)

Hey kids!

Another day. Another card.

A handmade card created for Paper Smooches by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Just a little something in the key of Paper Smooches to share today. 😉

This one was over on their blog this week.

Created the little bear with the help of the Kind Bear die and two wiggle eyes that were just “dying” to be used. 😉 The little bear? So. Darn. Cute. If you have made cards and scrapbook pages for a long time, you are probably familiar with paper piecing. Remember the hours spent doing that stuff? This die is kind of a fun twist on paper piecing. You cut the die a couple times and then piece all the pieces together to make the cute little bear.

The sentiment? Yep. It’s from Paper Smooches too. It hails from the Kindness Sampler stamp set.

The paper? Well, it was a teeny tiny old sliver of a piece tucked into my scrap basket. I think (key word) it old stuff from Bazzill. Such happy colors and all.

Alright, friends. I got nothing else for you today. Hope you are a having a good one today. Be back again soon.

Today’s card (6-4)

Hey guys!

Managed to sneak in a little bit more fun time this weekend. The end result? This card right here.

Ta-da!

The otter, fish and words are all from Julie’s Otterly Awesome stamp set from Ellen Hutson. Must say that it is pretty darn otterly awesome. 🙂 The otter and fish were cut with the coordinating dies. The fact that the otters’ little paws in the stamp set can hold things when cut with the dies just plain slays me. I just plain love that.

Created the blue watery background by slapping some washi tape along the sides of a piece of watercolor paper and then brushing on some blue watercolors. Then I liberally splashed dots of water on top and then took my heat gun to it to dry it all up. I think the end result looks like water. Well, I think.

Alright, kids. This is all I have for now for you. I’ll be back again later. Thanks, as always, for stopping by. You are pretty darn great!

Today’s card (6-2)

Hi guys!

Just a little something to share today.

Made this card recently, just for the fun of it. I haven’t had much time just to play lately. It was really nice to just play.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

All the stamps on this guy are from the new Upon A Star stamp set from Lawn Fawn. How, how I love it. I fussy cut the little guys and yellow stars with scissors. (Translation: Teri was el’cheapo when it came to getting the dies for this one… so yeah… scissors were my friend-a-roo. Just keeping it all real, kids. I am nothing but real.)

The little hill was cut with a die from My Favorite Things.

To make the little foxes’ noses stand out, I put little drops onto them with good ol’ Nuvo Crystal Drops. And those little white drops near yellow stars? Yeppers. Created them with Nuvo Crystal Drops too.

Alright! This is what I have for you. Be back later, gators. See you again soon.
