So let’s get on with the card!

CircusIcons_Elephants_teriI made this card entirely with the new Enjoy the Show set! I “might” have used the coordinating die set, too, to cut the elephants’ bodies. Emphasis on that “might’ word.

When I think circus-theme, I tend to think primary colors. But I decided to live on the edge here and go with a softer scheme this time.

The elephants are actually the same one. I just tried to make them look different by using different paper combinations and added a bow to one.

Well, that’s all I have. Thanks for stopping by today… and for your kind words. I always enjoy… and appreciate… them.

Go-to Gal Designer Challenge: Avery Elle (10-30)

Hi all!

The last Wednesday of the month means it is time for another Designer Challenge with the Go-to Gals.

So… like… what’s the deal with these challenges? Well, they are a “for fun”, editor-free kind of thing. Sometimes, we all play. Sometimes, we don’t. What matters is we are just having fun!

This month, we challenged each other to make something with products from Avery Elle. If you haven’t been Avery Elle-ifed yet, you are missing out. They make awesome stamps, dies and paper crafting accessories. Super hip, super fun stuff. Yes, yes. I’m a fan.

So here’s the card I made.

g2g_Manythanks1_teriI thought it would be fun to mix sentiments from a bunch of different sets together for this one so that’s what I did. The words I used came from: Aim High; Handwritten NotesOh Happy Day; and Thankful.

I cut the arrow (the same one from the Aim High Elle-ments die set) from a bunch of different patterned papers. To make some of them look a little more different, I embellished some of them with enamel dots and other stuff.

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the Go-to Gals have cooked up! Be sure to check out the blogs of:

See you again tomorrow!

PS, I’m up on Paper Crafts Connection today, sharing the Gratitude Journal that I worked up and will fill in and finish up in November.  Here’s a sneak peek!

There’s a Technique Tuesday stamp set up for grabs over there so be sure to comment on that Paper Crafts Connection post.

Out for the day (10-27)

Nothing new here to share today.

But if you are up for an adventure, check out the Simon Says Stamp blog. I’ve got a couple cards (and a simple stamping technique tutorial) over there. 😉

Here’s a sneak peek:

AwesomePoppies2_teriAlso, there’s a Poppy Sentiments stamp giveaway over there. (Big thanks to Technique Tuesday for making it available.)

Hope you’ll consider checking the post out. I’ll be back here later!

Today’s card (10-25)

Well, well, well. We meet again.

I’d like to introduce you to today’s card.

2_gh_1113_peacejoyevergreen_teri

It’s a bit more on the traditional side this time with the design than the last couple cards I’ve shared.

This one uses the Evergreen – Greenhouse Society stamp set from Technique Tuesday. I once again went for a shadow look with the set by stamping the trees once and then stamping them a second time without reinking the stamp. Really like that shadow-y feel.

That’s all I have swirling around in this little brain of mine today!

Be back again later! Hope you all are off to a good weekend!

Today’s card (10-22)

Yeppers. Another day. Another card.
2_Blog_HelloLike1_teriThe Say It – Hello and I Like You stamp sets (and the Say It – Hello steel die) are getting a workout around here. (Wink!)

Again, dug out some Midway paper from October Afternoon, as well as some Bundled Up paper from Crate Paper, for this one.

2_Blog_HelloLike2_teriThought this might be a fun card to send to a friend, who has been on my mind this week.

Well, that’s all I have for now. I’ll be later!

Today’s card (10-21)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card!

2_Blog_HelloSnapshots1_teriSpent a little time messing around at the craft table this weekend for no reason other than to just play.

The words are from a couple of my new stamp sets from Technique Tuesday: Say It – Hello and I Like You. The label and the notebook paper are steel dies from TT, too.

The paper (stripes and snapshots) are from October Afternoon’s Midway collection. Even though it came out awhile ago, it still makes my heart go pitter patter. The green stuff is from Lawn Fawn.

The blue tape is from the good old dollar store. 😉

2_Blog_HelloSnapshots2_teri

By the way, I was over on the Simple Stories blog this weekend, sharing the start of my album for December 2013. Here’s a peek.

DecCover1_teriYou can see more of it over there.

Be back again later! Thanks for swinging by!

New stuff + a card (10-17)

Hi all!

A couple things to share today!

First, Technique Tuesday’s just introduced some new stamp sets and dies for October, and I’ve contributed a few designs to the line-up.

This is I Like You & Say Cheese.

like2

I Like You features a bunch of phrases I imagined I’d want to use on cards. Say Cheese is inspired by really the social sharing experience. 🙂

This is the Say It – Hello stamp set & the Say It – Hello steel die set. (By the way, they are sold separately. )

SayHello1

The die includes a mat so the word can be used on its own or matted. You can also stamp on the mat with “hello” word from the stamp set.

And this is Blah Blah Blah.

blahblah

These were made at the request of my crafty friends. The bubbles are small enough  (but not too small) to use on either a card or a journaling card (for a pocket-style scrapbook). The words were purposely designed small to fit in the bubbles. (And they work good with other phrases, too.)

You can see these sets (and the entire release, which also includes stamps from Ali and a die from Bev) in the first three rows here on the TT Web site.

And here’s the second item of the day for you. I’ve got a card for you!

It uses a couple of the new products I showed you earlier: Say It – Hello stamp set; Say It – Hello steel die and I Like You. I also used the label die that Bev designed for the October release.

2_JustSayingHello1_teri

Pretty easy card, but it was fun to mix a lot of different things together and see what came of it!

2_JustSayingHello2_teri

So that’s all I have for you today. I’ll be back again later, gators!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

Today’s card (10-15)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card!

2_GH_1013_HappyHolidays_teriWhipped this bad boy up with a couple stamp sets from Technique Tuesday: Christmas Day by Ali & the Evergreen – Greenhouse Society stamp set. It goes on sale today. But here’s a sneak peek! I know people, ya know. 😉

Technique-Tuesday-Evergreen-Greenhouse-Clear-Stamps-MediumI stamped the trees once and then stamped again (without re-inking) to create the shadow look.

2_gh_1013_HappyHolidays2_teriKinda fun! That’s all I have for today. Be back later! Thanks for swinging by today.

PS… Did you see this card my friend Nina made? I might have designed the Good to Snow stamp set she used to make it. Smiling big, Nina! I LOVE IT!

October Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

Hi everyone!

It’s Studio AE Blog Hop time once again! Hooray!

This month, we are using the new Hello December by Ali Edwards stamp set.

Technique-Tuesday-Hello-December-SAE-Clear-Stamps-MediumI think this set is great for December Daily type projects and for Christmas cards. Technique Tuesday is not releasing a December Daily set this year, but they have released a number of Christmas themed sets from Ali over the last few months. With those sets and this one, I am feeling pretty covered in that department!

I decided for today’s hop to make something not Christmas or December-y with the set.I really wanted to try to stretch the limits of it so I made this little scrapbook page of a favorite picture I took while at the fair last month.

2_SAE_1013_IncredibleMemories_teriI used one of the set’s borders to stamp up the rainbow background on cardstock.

2_SAE_1013_incrediblememories2_teri

I stamped one phrase from the new Studio AE set (“Favorite Memories”) in the middle of one of the red borders.  Then I pulled out some stamps from other Technique Tuesday stamp sets and stamped words from them in the others. Those sets were: Incredible by Ali Edwards; Seriously Rad; In a Nutshell and Awesome.

I also poked holes in a couple of the borders and tied solid twine through them.

I finished off the page with a little journaling, completed on my trusty typewriter.

2_SAE_1013_incrediblememories3_teri I do a lot of journaling by hand and on my computer, but it’s nice to mix things up once in awhile with the typewriter.

So that’s all I have for today.

Be sure to check out the blogs of everyone hopping today.

As always, be sure to comment as you go. We are going to give away one $25 gift certificate after the hop. To be eligible to win, all you need to do is comment during the hop!  The lucky winner will be announced on the 15th on the Technique Tuesday blog.

Happy hopping, and thanks for stopping by today!

Operation Write Home World Card Making Day Blog Hop (10-5)

WCDstart

Happy World Card Making Day!

Super stoked to be hopping again with the fine folks over at Operation Write Home. I love OWH for the good they do and for encouraging all of us cardmakers out there to have fun and give back!

So thanks for having me as part of the OWH hop! 🙂

Here’s the card I made for the hop!

wcwd_thanku_teri

I gave myself a 15-minute limit to make this card and really tried to pull from things left on my desk from other projects. Pretty much all the papers here are just leftover scraps. The stitched circles (from Studio Calico) are just something I’ve had lying around for a somewhat embarrassing amount of time. 😉

The sentiment is a stamp from Avery Elle’s Oh Happy Day stamp set. My, how I dig it.

wcmd_thanku2_teri

That’s all for now. Be back again later!

Hope you are off to a happy day of cardmaking!
