Today’s card

Hi guys!

Just a simple little card to share with you today.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Made this one because as I was thinking about Technique Tuesday’s Random Acts of Cardness campaign. You know, there’s not a single TT stamp on it. But the idea of the campaign is what is cool. It’s all about encouraging folks to send out the cards they are making. And this one is going to someone special. But I digress. 😉

I created this card with the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Peony and Lovely stamp sets from Ellen Hutson. Just plain good stamp sets.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

I stamped the flower with the backside with red ink and then flipped it over and stamped on top with the black ink. How it doesn’t line it up it is all about part of the look I was going for. Let’s be honest: My ink coverage stunk with the red due to a little thing I like to call, “Stamper’s Lameness.” So yeah. I decided to get my hands wet and dump water drops on top. The cool thing? A really awesome distress look. You’d totally think I planned it that way. So, so did not. 😉

I felt like the card just needed a little something so I finished it off with a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The Sparkling ones are my favorite.

So that’s what I have for you today. Over and out. See you later, gators.

Ta-da!

This was a fun one. Used the new Feathered Friends stamp set to the do the whole dang time. The birds, the hearts, the words… all from the set. 🙂 And I whipped out my old friends, my trusty markers.

A handmade card by Teri for Paper Smooches // terisplace.wordpress.com

I grounded the chicks by slapping down a piece of paper and then sponging some blue ink at their feet. Could have went with a gray or a brown (or maybe even a green), but blue ink was within reach. Yes, I’m a “keep it real” kind of crafter. Expect the truth in my write-ups… wink.

The sequins and tape were all from my stash-a-roo of crafty goods. Funny how little touches of stuff like that can just complete a card seamlessly.

Alright. Tis’ all for the day. Thanks for stopping by. And thanks for leaving your kind words too. It’s always a treat. See you again soon, friends.

Birthday Card Challenge

Hi guys!

Another day in the Birthday Card Challenge with my pal, Ashley! She had the idea that we challenge each other to make birthday cards so that’s what we are doing. Yep. We are going birthday crazy, crazy.

This is my take on the challenge for today!

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

It’s a bit more on the messy with a side of funky side. 😉

Stamped the presents and balloons with the Essentials by Ellen Bear Ware stamp set from Ellen Hutson. Stamped the colors with the backsides of the stamps, using water-based dye inks. Then stamped on top with black ink. Once I did that, I literally got my fingers wet and dumped drops of water on top. Kinda fun. Kinda messy too. 😉

I used a plain old black pen to draw the strings connecting the balloons to the packages.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

And the words? Yep. They are from a new Ellen Hutson set too. That would be the Lovely set.

Sequins? They are from Pretty Pink Posh. Enamel dots (on the presents)? From my depackaged, unlabeled box of enamel dot bliss. 😉

Alrighty, friends. That’s what I have for you today. Be back later.

Once again, don’t miss Ashley’s take on today’s challenge. It will not disappoint. I am sure of that.

Birthday Card Challenge

(Looking for my Essentials by Ellen Blog Hop post? It’s the post right below this one. Scroll down or click here.)

Hi guys!

Ashley and I are back at with our Birthday Card Challenge. Our posting days are a bit unpredictable but we are still doing it. So yeah. 😉

This is my take on the challenge today.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

It “might” be a stretch for a birthday card but I am running with it.

The adorable bunny and words are from Avery Elle’s Pure Magic stamp set. So cute.

For the bunny’s face, I used a Copic marker to tap dots. Then I used a blender pen to tap even more dots. Then I used another Copic marker (just a shade darker) to tap even more dots. And then (one more time!) I tapped even more dots with the blender pen. If you try this at home, I warn you: Be patient. All that dotting looked kinda of lame and made me question what I had done to the poor bunny until the ink dried and then things looked good.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Wondering about the panel I stamped the bunny on? Cut that bad boy with the Blueprints 21 Die-namics from My Favorite Things. Some of my most favorite, practical dies. (Dearest friends at MFT, please keep making more of them? K, thanks. I love you guys… like a lot. Hugs, kisses and creative wishes, T)

Alright! That’s what I have.

Don’t miss Ashley’s take on the challenge. It will not disappoint. I’m sure.

So let me show you what I cooked up with the new goods!
Meet card #1.
A handmade card for Ellen Hutson by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com
I just plain had fun with this one, pulling out images from the Stay Salty stamp set and coordinating dies. I had big dreams of doing just one little scene, but then was like, “I’m going for more, baby!” so I did just that with the 4 little scenes.
A handmade card for Ellen Hutson by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com
I add some little touches, like inking the life preserver and the mermaid’s tail and adding some vellum to the boat. Oh, and I went a little old school too by adding lots of inking to the edges. Maybe not old school, but timeless. That’s probably a better way of saying it.
And meet card #2.
So I went kinda wild with this one! My need to go freestyle was high!
The sunshine panels from the new Silver Linings die set are pretty cool! They have a cool pattern of sun rays. I was messing around and found them to be kinda foldable so I cut a whole bunch and folded them to make that funky pattern.

It was fun to do!
The words are from the new Warm Fuzzies stamp set. It’s a great set with lots of words.
The sun is from the previously released All Inside stamp set, while the little hat? It’s from the new Bear Ware stamp set and coordinating dies. I’m a huge fan of mixing and matching so it’s fun to be able to do that with so many of the Essentials by Ellen stamps and dies! (THANK YOU, Ellen!)

Alright! That’s what I have for you!
Thanks for stopping by today!
And don’t forget to visit Laurel, who is the next stop on the hop-a-roo! Take it away Laurel!

Reverse Confetti Sketch for You To Try

Hi guys!

Here today with another card created with stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti. They just revealed August’s Sketch For You To Try, and this card is based on that sketch.

A handmade card for Reverse Confetti made by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Ta-da!

And here’s the sketch too. 🙂

13620755_10210197221317567_6904359968968394107_n

I created the little box by cutting a frame with the All Framed Up dies. And the little wormy scene? Made that with the Worm Wishes stamp set and coordinating dies.

rc_wormwishesday2_teri

I made the worm a bit longer by stamping and die-cutting him twice. I chopped his head off one of them (brutal, I know… wink!) and the pieced end pieces together. I also gave him wiggle eyes… because I couldn’t resist. 🙂 Wiggle eyes make everything more fun… in my card making opinion

I wanted the apples to have a little boom boom so I slapped on a couple gems. Easy peasy. Also, you’ll notice my stamping is not perfect on that back apple. That’s the beauty of these stamps. They are totally forgiveable for not perfect stamping. Hooray!

Alright! So that’s what I have. Be sure to hit the Reverse Confetti blog to see some fabulous takes on the sketch by the Reverse Confetti crew. They rock’th.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by, guys.

Neat and Tangled Birthday Blog Hop

4THbirthdaybloghop-01

Hi guys!

Pretty dang excited to be joining my friends from Neat and Tangled for their 4th Birthday Blog Hop. They’ve put together a really fun surprise release in honor of the occasion, and I’m tickled to share a couple projects made with some of the fun new products. Yippee!

Alright, let’s get on with the projects. Give it up for card #1.

A handmade card for Neat and Tangled by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

And the crowd goes wild! Woooooooo! 😉

Had fun playing with a couple of the new products for this one. I especially dig that big panel you see. I cut it with the new Doily Tag die. I cut it three times – from wood paper and pink and dark pink cardstocks. And then I layered them all together.

The celebrate word and mat was cut with the new Celebrate dies, while the stars were cut with the new Lucky Stars dies. If you look close, you’ll see the celebrate word has two tones of pink. I sponged a little ink on the bottom of the word before adhering it to the mat. You’ll also see some white stars in the open spaces of the doily tag. I just felt… well… adventurous.

Thought it this one turned out pretty fun.

And meet card #2.

I used the same supplies to make this one as the other. Those stamped words? Yep. They were stamped with a new product too. (Surprise, surprise… right?! Ha!) That would be the Celebrate stamp set. It’s a good one for making stuff for all kinds of happy occasions.

Birthday Challenge #2

Hi guys!

Back with another Birthday Challenge card with my girl, Ashley! Ashley issued a challenge a bit back to make birthday cards so here I am. 😉

Meet today’s card.

Handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Truth be known, I’ve been on an extreme purge fest of my craft space lately. From excess buttons to nearly all of my 12×12 patterned papers, I’ve been getting rid of stuff left and right. I’m not giving up making things, but I want my room to have stuff I really just love and use often. And the bonus is it takes a lot less space. 😉

So the things on this card are things that made the cut! 🙂

The little clear pocket is from Hazel & Ruby. Had it for awhile, just waiting for the “right” project. You know what I’m saying? Wink. Dumped a few sequins in it and then sealed it up with some Washi tape.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

The “celebrate” sticker and label sticker are oldies but goodies from Jillibean, while the little “today” and circle stickers and hearts are from Bella Blvd. That leaf? Cut that with this die by Cath Edvalson for Technique Tuesday.

Alright, that’s what I have for you today. Be sure to hit Ashley’s blog to see her take on the challenge.

Reverse Confetti August Release Blog Hop

Hi guys!

Happy to be hopping today with the good folks from Reverse Confetti to celebrate the August release. So tickled to be a ‘Fetti Friend this month with Veronica. 🙂

So I’ve got a little card to share with you that I made with some of the new goods. On your mark. Get set. Ok. Here we go. 😉

A handmade card for Reverse Confetti by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Alright. So I wanted I to make a fun little scene so I whipped out the super cute new Toucan of Friendship and coordinating dies.

Seriously, what a cute a stamp set. Confession time: I color with markers but I am sooooo not a marker superstar! True story. 😉 Love these images because they are just so forgiving to a “OK” marker user like myself. Forgiving is good. Not to mention these stamps are just so cute!

A handmade card for Reverse Confetti by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

To frame the scene, I used some frames cut with the All Framed Up die. This die is so useful. So many frames in one die. You can use one or a whole bunch at the same time. And those stitched finishes on top? Oh, my heart.

13886262_10210447304289485_2692537602964308733_n

Alright! So that’s what I have for you!

Reverse Confetti Sneak Peek #3

Hi guys!

Back again with another sneak peek at the next release from Reverse Confetti! So tickled to be a ‘Fetti Friend this month.

A handmade card for Reverse Confetti by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Had lots of fun today, playing with the new Worm Wishes stamp set and coordinating dies.

13892177_10210447304609493_3585383142075148034_n 13882323_10210447304649494_2284543310149209258_n

Man, I tell you. It’s just the cutest stamp set. The little worm slays me! I stamped him and then stamped pattern onto his backside. And then I threw caution to the wind (ha ha) and whipped out my trusty green marker to add a little more color. I think it just kinda made him pop… just a little more.

A handmade card for Reverse Confetti by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Fun, right?

I also cut a second worm base and set it right under the green worm. I think it just added a little something to the card.

Once again, I whipped out the All Framed Up dies to add a little frame to this card too.

13886262_10210447304289485_2692537602964308733_n

I really l dig this die and all those frames. Nice to have lots of options.

So yep. That’s what I have for you today.

Once again, be sure to swing by the Reverse Confetti blog to see who else is sharing sneak peeks today. And be sure to check out all the peeks. I know they will not disappoint!

Leave comments on all the sneak peek posts through noon CST on Aug. 7th (hey, that’s today!) for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate from Reverse Confetti. And be sure to comment on their Facebook page for another chance to win a $15 gift certificate too.

Be back later, friends. Thanks for stopping by. Yep. I’ll be back tomorrow.  Promise. 😉 See you then.
