So enough talk about the hop.

Meet the project I made for it!

I made this card with the new Santa Paws set. Think Christmas in July when you think about this set. It’s “oh, so cute!”

The mouse, cheese, present and “Christmouse” are from the set

The stocking is actually from another set (Hang Ups). “Greetings” is from Swanky Snowdudes. I was pretty excited that the stamps could be mixed together so easily.

Be sure to check everyone else’s blogs to see what they came up!

That’s all for now. Be back later.

Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to stop by.

Go-to Challenge: Bella BLVD (6-29)

Hi all!

It’s the last Wednesday of the month. That means it is time for another Go-to Challenge.

What is a Go-to Challenge, you ask?

Well, it’s totally a “just-for-fun” thing with the Go-to-Gals. We pick a manufacturer each month and then challenge each other to make something with their products. Sometimes, we all play. Sometimes, we don’t. There are no rules, other than it’s heavy on being a just-for-fun thing.

This month, we challenged each other to make something with Bella BLVD’s fun, happy and cheery products. Seriously, how can you not love their happy stuff?

I had so much fun I made two cards with their papers and chipboard stickers.

Meet #1.

`

And meet #2.

For the first card, I folded several pieces of paper in half, stapled them and then lined them up to make the mat of sorts.

For the second one, I really just mixed a bunch of different fun stuff from Bella BLVD together to see what I could come up with. The only thing that isn’t from Bella BLVD is the cardstock,  brad and twine. And, just in case, you are wondering what in the gosh patootin’ that the BF stands for, it’s “Best Friends.” 😉

Be sure to check the blogs of Windy, Kim, Betsy and Julie to see what they came up with this time. Jennifer is taking a challenge break this month, but she’s totally with us in spirit. 😉

That’s all for now. Be back soon.

PS… Be sure to hit the Paper Crafts blog today. There’s a giveaway involving these nifty stamps from Wilson Designs.

Today’s card (6-27)

Howdy everybody!

It’s a good day to share a card.

Meet today’s. 🙂

I had some scraps on my desk and worked up this little ditty  with them.

It’s a bit hard to tell but I did add some stamping to the bottom row of half circles. The white stuff is actually part of a large circle stamp from this Talking in Circles set from Technique Tuesday. I stamped it and then embossed it with white powder.

The sentiment is also from Technique Tuesday.  It’s from their Swanky Sentiments set.

The papers are from Bella Blvd and My Mind’s Eye.

Before I go, let me mention Technique Tuesday one more time.

Here’s an itty bitty peek of a project I made with their July Studio AE stamp set.

I’ll share the whole shebang after the folks at TT reveal the new stamp set (called Get Outside by Ali Edwards) completely on the 1st.

That’s all for now. Be back soon.

PS… If you are a fan of stamping, keep your eyes on Moxie Fab World and Paper Crafts Connection this week. Those wild, feather boa wearing editors from Paper Crafts magazine are celebrating the release of the latest edition of Stamp It! Cards. There are lots of peeks of projects from the issue to be seen, and  I hear there might  even some nifty stamping goodies up for grabs. In fact, I hear  Wednesday’s post on Paper Crafts Connection is especially good to check out. (cough… giveaway… *wink, wink*… cough… giveaway)

Today’s cards (6-26)

Howdy all!

Got a few cards to share today so let’s just get to business.

Meet today’s cards.

Dum. Dum. Dummmmmm.

Meet #1.

Meet #2.

Meet #3.

And meet #4.

Whew, that was a lot of cards. 😉

These are all actually cards I made while playing with June’s new stamps from Paper Smooches: (FOLKal Points; Word Up  and Swanky Snowdudes). I used mostly the new stamps but mixed a few earlier releases on a couple of the cards.

These are just fun little stamps to play with.

Hope you all are having a good weekend!

Be back later!

GCD Studios (June): Keeping it fun and clean!

Hello all!

I am on the  GCD Studios blog today so I am bringing my post here, too.

We were challenged this month to define our style.

It’s the million dollar question, isn’t it? 🙂 I  like to go many ways when I make cards, but I guess the style I gravitate to the most is clean and fun.

This card is the perfect example of my style.

This card doesn’t have too much on it, but it’s got enough patterned paper and embellishments that make it interesting.

And here is one more example of my clean style.

There again isn’t too much on it, but there’s just enough embellishments on it to keep it interesting. The birds fly across the card, and the sentiment keeps you reading the words.

I have a few tricks for you to use when you make clean and fun projects:

  1. Limit yourself with the embellishments you use. I like to keep the number of different embellishments I use on cards to seven or less. Any more, things just seem a bit too crowded.
  2. Keep the project focused on the card’s purpose. With the first card, I wanted to make an encouragement card that focus on the “Learn the Lesson” message. Everything I added (the additional words and even the bird) steered focus on the message.
  3. Be sure to obey design rules. Apply the rule of thirds, balance and symmetry to  your projects.

Today’s card (6-19)

Hello all!

Happy Sunday! Hope you are having a nice weekend.

Today’s post is going to be short and sweet.

With that, meet today’s card.

I just had fun here and used a few Lawn Fawn stamp sets together for this one: Schoolhouse Backdrops; Blissful Botanicals and Critters in the ‘burbs.

This was one of those “just having fun and seeing what I come up” kind of cards. 🙂

Be back again soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s card (6-17)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

Ta-da!

I colored the bear with Copic markers. When I was finished, I took a Copic blender pen and pounced it to give the bear’s fur the look of texture.

Easy peasy, and super fun.

The bear and words are from Technique Tuesday’s Bear Necessities stamp set.

The paper is from Echo Park Paper.

‘Tis all I has to say abou this bad boy so ’tis all for now. Be back later.

See you again soon.

Lawn Fawn: Blissful Botanicals

Well, well, well.

We meet again! 😉
Today, I’m hanging with those wild and crazy Lawn Fawn gals again for another day of Lawn Fawn inspired fun.
Today, we are playing with the new Blissful Botanicals set. Go here now to see the set in all its glory. I will forgive you. Really, I will. But please come back.

Ok, you are back?

Alright. So meet today’s card.

I used the stamp set to make the circle here. Every stamped is from the new stamp set, other than the trail which is from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the ‘Burbs set.

To make the green grass, I applied two way tape onto the circle and then covered it with light green flocking. Then, I took a green marker and just lightly brushed it over the flocking to give it the two-toned look. Super easy, and super fun.

Lawn Fawn: Schoolhouse Backdrops

Hi all!

Woohoo! It’s another day of Lawn Fawn fun.

Today, the Fawny bunch is playing with the Schoolhouse Backdrops set.

To see this set in all its Lawn Fawn glory, go here.

I have two cards to share with you today.

Meet #1.

And meet #2.

I have a cousin graduating from college today so graduation was definitely on my mind as I made these cards. 😉

I was totally inspired by the school paper lines in the set and stamped the backgrounds for both cards with it and blue ink.

For the top card, I added mortarboards from Hats Off to You and the “congrats” word from Sophie’s Sentiments.

For the bottom card, I made the words with Smitty’s ABCs. The apple, colored in with pencils, is from My Silly Valentine.

Lawn Fawn: On the Mend

Hey all!

It’s Lawn Fawn time again!

This time, I am joining the Fawny gang in playing with the new On the Mend set.

So with that, meet today’s card.

The set is an all-around “Get Well” stamp set with a super cute Lawn Fawn twist to it. Go here to see it in all the stamp set’s Lawn Fawn beauty. It will make your heart smile. Trust me on this one. 🙂

I decided to play it simple this time by stamping images on cardstock together. I did a little masking with the bowl of soup and tissue box so they look like they are one stamp, but really they are two.

I finished them off with a little Google eye action. I just can’t help myself when it comes to those.

I also stamped the heart border from Teeny Tiny Backdrops.
