Today’s card (9-30)

Hi all!

Say hello to today’s card!

This one uses a new die from Technique Tuesday that is based on my handwriting! 🙂

Here’s a peek at the die and how you can use it. The die set includes the word, as well as a mat you can mat the word to.

I thought it would be fun just to make a card that uses the word over and over (and over) matted and un-matted so that’s what I did. Added a few foam dots under the top Noel word to give the card a little extra dimension.

For today’s hop, I whipped out the new Bitty Bungalows stamp set. And spoiler alert! I “might” have whipped out the new Bitty Bungalows coordinating dies, too! Yep. Just might have. 😉

Pretty much every stamped element you see on my card is from the new stamp set. 😉

And guess what? The set has even more sweet little scene building images. I can’t wait to play with it some more.

To give the houses a little extra pop, I used markers to just randomly add a little extra shading to each one. Simple, but adds just a little extra kick.

Go-to Gal Designer Challenge: Elle’s Studio (9-25)

Hi all!

It’s time again for another Go-to Gal Designer Challenge.

What’s the deal with these things? Well, simple. They are a “for-fun” thing with the Go-to Gals. Every so often, we pick a manufacturer’s products and challenge each other to make something with them for the fun it. Sometimes, we all play. Sometimes, we don’t.  And that’s OK. Because it’s all about having fun. 🙂

This time, we  challenged each other to make something with products from Elle’s Studio!  (Oh la la!!!!)

I came up with two (yep, two) card for this challenge.

I dug deep in my Elle’s Studio stash and used a mixture of Elle’s papers and stamps on these. One of the things I dig about Elle’s Studio products is they just have a fun, trendy feel. They have trendy elements and patterns (like woodgrain and chevrons) and hot fonts, but everything is done in a super fun, happy way. Makes me happy to play with them.

Mixed Media Blog Hop (9-25)

Hi all!

I’m joining some of my friends and favorite scrap-tastic ladies for a hop in honor of the new Mixed Media Scrapbooking 2  special issue from Creating Keepsakes!

We are all crafty gals and are all about just making stuff and having fun! We all thought it would be fun to each share a peek at one of our projects from the issue, to show support for each other as memory keepers and for Creating Keepsakes.

I really love this issue because it’s got lots of fun techniques in it. I’ve been scrapbooking and making cards a long, long, long time. I’ve seen a lot of stuff during that time. Tried a few things, too. Fun thing about this issue is there’s some super cool, fun and different stuff to try. Really got my juices flowing.

Anyway, here’s a sneak peek of one of my scrapbook pages from the issue. It’s my Dog Toy Killer layout, which I made about my dog Marley (who is…. shall we say… a master of killing dog toys). I used a rainbow misting/masking technique!

Today’s card (9-14)

Hi all!

Just a quick, clean card today!

Wanted to whip up a couple quick Halloween cards with my grandmother and a couple other relatives in mind. They don’t expect masterpieces. In fact, all those extra details of inking, stitching and layering are really lost on them. Really, they just like getting cards so the easier they are to make, the more I can send out. 😉

Made a few of these bad boys with Lawn Fawn’s Trick or Treat stamp set and Stitched Journaling Card die. Easy peasy stuff. The paper is some oldie (but still dang goodie) stuff from Bella Blvd.  (<—— What can I say? It’s woodgrain. How I love thee…)

September Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday

Hi all!

It’s 10th, which means it is Studio AE Blog Hop time! Can I just say I love this day. I really do. 🙂

We are using the newest Studio AE stamp set, which is this is guy right here: Daily Photo by Ali Edwards. (By the way, the TT warehouse crew will begin shipping the set to Studio AE members today! The crew is kinda the unsaid heroes of TT. Getting all those sets out each month is a big job, and they do a great job each month, making it happen! )

So I used the set to make a scrapbook page!

I just completed my fifth 5K over the last couple months, and I thought it would be a fun set to use to document the experience.

(By the way, I don’t usually wear feathers or hold a wand when I take part in a 5K, but part of the fun of The Color Run is just being goofy and having fun. When it comes to 5ks, it’s a real relaxed setting with an emphasis on having fun.)

So I used the stamp set with TT’s Circles steel dies, to make the circles on the photos! I just cut off a little of each circle with my scissors.

If you don’t have the dies, a 1 3/4″ circle punch would work well with the stamps, too. If you use a punch that’s a little bigger, the rim will appear just a little bigger!  🙂

It’s a good day. A dang good day, in fact!

I used a little bit of Lawn Fawn goodness to make this bad boy: the Into the Woods and Year Two stamp sets & the Stitched Journaling card die. The paper is, well, from Bella Blvd. (Don’t hold my not-exclusively Lawn Fawn’ing it against me, k?)

A secret message (just for you, Kelly) is inside! 🙂
