Today’s card (1-28)

Hi everyone!

Meet today’s card!

This is a sample I made with one of the new stamp sets from Technique Tuesday for CHA. The label and words are from their new Swanky Sentiments set, which was designed to work with Spellbinders’ Labels 14 die set..

The stamp set is not up on TT’s Web site yet, but the gals were nice enough to hook me up with picture of the stamp set to share with you.

The circles are from another new set called Fleur.

That’s all for now. Be back again soon.

PS… Speaking of TT, here’s a peek of something made with coming soon  February Studio AE stamp set. I’ll share the whole card in a few days.

Go-to Challenge: BasicGrey Hopscotch (1-26)

Hi everyone!

It’s the last Wednesday of the month. That means it is time for another Go-to Challenge.

This month, we challenged each other to make something with BasicGrey’s Hopscotch collection.

In case you are just tuning in, each month the Go-to-Gals pick a product or manufacturer’s products to play with and make a card with. It’s totally a “just for fun” thing. The only rule: It’s always something we like. And some times, we all play. Some times, we don’t.

Enough background. 😉

Meet my take on the challenge, which just happens to be today’s card.

All the colored paper and letter stickers are from BasicGrey’s Hopscotch collection. Such a happy line! I love the colors in it. The creamy paper in the background is from BG’s Basics collection, which I can’t seem to get enough of. I use it a lot.

I made the butterflies with a punch from Martha Stewart. To make the pink butterfly fly a little higher, I pierced the trail with a paper piercer.

See how Kim K., Betsy, Jess, Kim H. and Maren tackled this challenge by hitting their blogs today. I can’t wait to see myself!

Thanks for stopping by. Be back again tomorrow.

Zva Creative January DT Blog Hop (1-24)

Hi all!

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special! There is now an added twist to our blog hops, YAY! As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes’ blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package …YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it’s important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, January 24th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, January 25th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, January 26th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog as well (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it’s best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday…plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post…you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer’s blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Enough talk about the hop!

Meet my hop project (and today’s card)!

This flourish is one of Zva’s new ones that will be out at CHA. To give it an added “umph”, I cut a flower from vellum to go underneath it. I also added purple crystals and white felt flowers.

Your next stop is here is the blog of the talented Lisa Johnson! Take it away, Lisa!

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us for the hop and for stopping by my blog!

Be back again tomorrow.

Technique Tuesday Blog Hop (1-20)

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the first-ever Technique Tuesday blog hop!
I’m a Stamping Tech for Technique Tuesday, and I have the pleasure of kicking off the first-ever Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.
Today, all of the Stamping Techs and some of our best friends are teaming up to hold this blog hop to share one of our favorite projects made with Technique Tuesday’s stamps .

The hop begins here on my blog.

I’ll be linking to a designer’s blog at the end of this post. She’ll be linking to another designer’s blog and so on.

I’ll list all of the players below so please check it out if you get lost along the way.
With every comment you leave on the blog path, you’ll be entered to win a Pocket Full of Posies stamp set from Technique Tuesday.

I  will pick one person  from all the comments made on all the blogs by midnight Eastern time on 1/24 to win the stamp set. So the more comments you make during the blog hop, the better chance you have to win.
Be sure to check my blog (this blog)  on 1/25 to see if you are the lucky winner.

Here’s the project I worked up for today’s blog hop.

I used two Technique Tuesday stamp sets on it: Thanks for Everything and Simply You by Ali Edwards.

I colored the flowers with watercolors and then applied a layer of marble gel from Golden to them. The gel adds just a little shine and just a little bit of texture. Great fun for flowers.

The next stop on this hop is the blog of the wonderful and talented Sharyn! You can get to her blog by clicking here. Take it away, Sharyn!

Just in case you get lost on the hop today, here is our Blog Hop’s path:

The blog hop starts at here on my blog

Teri (that’s me) links to Sharyn

Sharyn links to Tanis

Tanis links to Kathi

Kathi links to Tiffany

Tiffany links to Tobi

Tobi links to Laura

Laura links to Stephanie

Stephanie links to Ashley

Ashley links to Charlene

Charlene links to Kris

Kris links to Daniela

Daniela links to Teri (that’s me!)

Thanks all for joining our hop today! And thanks for stopping by my blog, too!

Today’s card (1-18)

Howdy all!

What’s shaking?  😉

Got a card to share with you today so  meet today’s card.

So I put a gem on the bunny’s nose. I am afraid it looks a bit like a clown nose, but I am kinda digging it anyway.

I used quite a bit of Lawn Fawn (fawny fawny fawn) stamps on this one. The bunny and hearts from the My Silly Valentine set. The words are from Sophie’s Sentiments, while the banner is from Bannerific.

The vellum, Baker’s “I am addicted to yee” Twine, clip and gem are from my stash.

That’s all for now. Be back again soon.

Later, gators. 😉

Today’s card and Color Inspiration winner (1-17)

Hi all!

Two items on the agenda today.

First, meet today’s card.

So I am totally keeping with the butterfly theme on this blog right now with this one. 😉

I had a couple of these butterflies left on my desk from other projects I have been working on lately. So I just added a little stamping and embellishing to them and made this card.

I added the trails with a push pin. It was easier to grab than my paper piercer. 😉

The thanks and thank you stamps used to stamp on the butterflies are from Lawn Fawn. All the other stuff is from my stash.

Second, I need to pick a “winna, winner” for the Color Inspiration issue from Paper Crafts.

And that winner is:

Jen Arkfeld!

Congrats Jen! I’ll be in touch shortly to coordinate prize sending arrangements.

Thanks to all who for leaving all the nice comments over the last few days.  Every single one of them is appreciated!

Paper Crafts Magazine Presents: Color Inspiration for Card Makers Blog Hop

Howdy everyone!

Well, it’s a fun day in blog land.

That because I’m joining forces today with nine other crafters for the Color Inspiration for Card Makers Blog Hop. This is to the celebrate the new release of Paper Crafts magazine’s Color Inspiration for Card Makers special issue.

Just in case you haven’t heard about the issue, let me tell you a little bit about it. The issue is all about color and great color combos for card making. The issue hits the whole spectrum of color combos from neutrals and pretty pastels to bright & bold ones. You can find the issue in craft stores and on newstands all over. You can also find it in the Paper Crafts store by going  here.

I think this issue has the potential to be a great resource for card makers. That’s because the color combos already decided for you. The issue is smack packed with color recipes of 3 to 4 colors to use. All you need to do it pick a combo and get to creating. And if you are anything like me, I spend a lot figuring out what colors I want to use when I start making stuff. It’s just nice to have that taken care of already.

Ok, so enough about the issue. Let me share with you my project for the hop.

With that, meet today’s card. 🙂

So we were asked to use the same color combo that Lea used on the card on the issue’s cover.  I decided to channel my stamp loving side and use inks that matched with the combo. I bent the rules a bit (’cause would you guys wouldn’t know me any other way, right?) by using the white base.

To make the yellow butterfly pop a bit, I added a larger vellum butterfly below it.

The butterflies are from Papertrey Ink, while the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. The blue pearls are from Queen & Co.

So that’s all I have to tell you about my card. 🙂

Be sure to leave a comment here on my blog. Editor Kelly has offered up a copy of Color Inspiration for me to give away to one of you. (Woohoo! Thanks, Kelly!) All comments must be posted by midnight on Sunday, Jan. 16.

You’ll also want to visit the blogs of my fellow blog hoppers to see what they are did with this color combo:
Julia Stainton
Chan Vuong
Latisha Yoast
• Teri  (That’s me!)
Betsy Veldman
Kalyn Kepner
Kimberly Kesti
Kim Hughes
Lisa Johnson
Lea Lawson

(Pssst. They are giving away issues, too!)

And, finally, you’ll want to hit Paper Crafts Connection today and comment there. That’s because one lucky person is going to win all of this.

Mmmmmm. Nice. Feel free to remember yer’ old friend, Teri, when you win. 😉 Kidding!

That’s all for now. Be back again soon.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Today’s card (1-10)

Hi all!

Meet today’s card.

This is one more card from me that uses the January Studio AE stamp set from Technique Tuesday. The circles are from that set. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I have crazy woman love for this stamp set. 🙂 It’s just one of those sets I really like using!

I stamped the text on the background with Verbose, another Technique Tuesday stamp set.

Everything else is from my stash.

That’s all for now so be back soon!

By the way, check out Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World this week. The Paper Crafts editors are whooping it up and celebrating new the Color Inspiration special issue. Never know what those sneaky editors might have up their sleeves. 😉
