Today’s cards (2-26)

Hello all!

It’s a two-fer card day again.

Meet #1.

And meet #2.

Both of these cards are the result of a challenge with my friend, Ashley. The two of us recently added some stamps from Clear & Simple Stamps to our collections of craft stuff and wanted to use them.

The grid in the pink panel on the first card is from Clear & Stamps’ Wheat set. The words are from Technique Tuesday.

All the images on the second card are from Clear & Simple Stamps’ Bowling set. I couldn’t find it on the web site to share a link with you.

Anyway, I was excited to find the bowling set. It’s got a ton of great little sayings: “This is how I roll”; “Bowlers always have time to spare”; “Spare me” and a few other good ones.

I have a lot of  friends who bowl so I knew it would be a great set to make cards for them with. I don’t share much personal stuff here on the old blog-a-roo so you may not know that bowling is a family activity in my world.  My mom, grandma and I all bowled together in a league for a couple years. It was, hee hee, always an adventure. 🙂

In light of that bowling experience, I made the bowling ball pink, which mirrors the color of one of my balls. 😉 I was and am often teased me about having a bright bubblegum pink ball. (For what it’s worth, my other ball is yellow and has Bart Simpson on it… lol.)

Anyway, that about wraps things up for today.  I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

PS. Don’t forget to check out Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World today. The Stamp It! Cards festivities conclude with two BIG giveaways.

Go-to-Gal Stamp It! challenge (2-25)

Hello, hello!

To celebrate the release of Stamp It! Cards,  Brandy recently challenged  the Go-to-Gals to hold a Stamp It! 3 Ways challenge.

The six of us split in two groups of three. And each group picked one stamp set to work with and make some cards.

I ended up in the group with Kim K. and Kim H. And we chose the Birthday Cages clear stamp set from Stampendous! to work with.

Click here and you can see the set in all its glory in the Stampendous! online store.

It took a little bit of thinking, but here’s the card I came up with. 🙂

I stamped one of the set’s cages twice, cut them out and embellished them with stamped birds, a door and ribbon.  I used a sewing machine to stitch the chains the cages are hanging from.

I also did some stamping with some stamps not from the Stampendous! set. The words are from Technique Tuesday’s Aviary set, while the polka dots are from their Passion for Polka set.

Go here to see what Kim K. did with the set. Go here to see what Kim H. did.

And go check out Maren, Betsy and Jess, too, to see what stamp set they worked with for the challenge and what they came up.

Leave a comment on all our blogs and on Brandy’s post today on the Paper Crafts Connection blog and you could win six stamps sets featured in the new issue of Stamp It! Cards! (Just to clarify, your name gets in the drawing each time you comment. So by posting on each of our blogs and on the Paper Crafts Connection blog, you get 7 big chances to win!) Wooohoo! Comments must be made by midnight M.S.T. on Friday the 26th.

And one more thing. 🙂 I’ve got a copy of Stamp It! Cards to give away.  I’ll pick one lucky person who comments on my blog to receive a copy of the magazine.

Thanks for stopping by. I’ll be back later.

Stamp It! Blog Hop (2-24)

Hello out there!

I’m excited to be taking part today in a blog hop that celebrates Paper Crafts’ new Stamp It! special issue and the new Olympics of Stamping challenge on Moxie Fab World.

Lots to talk about so let’s get started.

First, let’s talk about Stamp It!

Stamp It! is Paper Crafts’ once-a-year issue of cards that get their stamp on.

It’s one of my favorite issues each year.

One of the reasons I like Stamp It! is it has always brought something different to the stamping table. I am a firm believer that not every stamper is the same and we all have different tastes when it comes to putting our cards together.

In my opinion, Stamp It! tends to have a lot of cards that come from a more paper crafted card perspective than a traditional stamped card perspective. I think that is nice. I know it always makes me think about my stamps and supply stash a bit differently.

Second, here’s a card I created just for today’s blog hop.

The images here are all from Technique Tuesday. The grass, mushrooms and butterfly are from their Oh Deer! set. The words are from Simply Stated and the polkies are from Passion for Polka. The gems are Zva Creative.

Cath asked that each card posted today for the blog hop be based on the new Olympics of Stamping challenge.

She (and the rest of the Paper Crafts crew) just launched the challenge.  You can take part in the challenge, too, by making a stamped card in any of the following themes: Birthday; Thank You; Thinking of You/Hello; Love; and Season’s Greetings. Go to Moxie Fab World and add a link to your card via the Mr. Linky widget by March 8. Challenge winners will be announced by March 10 on Moxie Fab World.

While you are at it, consider sending your card in for the 2010 Stamping Royalty contest. The categories for the contest  just happen to be the same as the Olympics of Stamping ones. You can get contest details by clicking here.

By the way, did you know that 2 of the Go-to-Gals are Stamping Royalty winners? My buddy Jess Witty won one of the coveted tiaras one year. I, too, was a winner. 🙂 It was the first year of the contest (I want to say 2004 or 2005?) when the winners were named “Stamping Queens.”

To this day, it’s still a shock to me that I actually won.

And, finally, before you go,  leave a comment for me here today. Leave a comment on Moxie Fab World about the blog hop. And leave a comment on each of these blogs (owned by fellow blog hoppers):

Betsy Veldman

Dawn McVey

Tina Fussell

Debbie Olson

Julia Stainton

Kimberly Crawford

Latisha Yoast

Lisa Johnson

Cath will be pick one winner from all the comments received on the 12 blogs (this one and Moxie Fab World, included). The winner will receive a package of 12 sets from My Cute Stamps! Let me just put it out there that  I am jealous of the winner already. 😉 Lucky stamper!

Comments must be made on all the blogs by midnight M.S.T. on Sunday, Feb. 28th!

Well, that’s all for now. Be back tomorrow with a special Go-to-Gal challenge with stamps.

Today’s card (2-22)

Hello all!

Dum. Dum. Dummmmmmmmmmm.

Meet today’s card.

This was a real simple card to make, but it looks all complicated with those different patterned papers mixed together. Here’s my secret though: I used patterned papers from the same collection. 😉 It made things come together really easy!

The papers and butterfly are all from Jenni Bowlin. Lovely stuff. The jewels coming from the butterfly are from Zva Creative and the letters are from Doodlebug.

Oh yeah, and that label. Gosh, how I love that shape. It’s from Spellbinders Labels 1 Nestabilities set.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by!

And the winner is… (2-22)

It’s about time, right? 😉

Picking the winner of the CK font CD at random….

now.

It is….

Jen Shears, who posted at 8:14 p.m. on 2/17 . She said:

She is cute- and look at you going crazy with markers! Love it! Thanks for the chance at your giveaway! Fonts make me happy!

Wooo! Congrats Jen! I’ll contact you shortly for your snail mail address.

And thanks to everyone for stopping by and leaving comments. I wish I had more font CDs to share.

PS. If you are looking for more blog candy action, check out Paper Crafts Connection and Moxie Fab World every day this week. The Paper Crafts gang has lined up a bunch of stuff for giveaways this week to celebrate the new issue of Stamp It! Cards.

Today’s card (2-18)

Hello!

It’s a good day to make a card just because I can. 🙂

So meet today’s card.

I drew inspiration for the blue and orange here (and all that lovely white space) from Tenia’s challenge this week. Go check out this link here for all the challenge details and the inspiration piece.

The flowers and words are from American “I love you” Crafts. The orange polka dot stuff is patterned paper from A  Muse. And the bracket dealie-doos are from Zva Creative.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today’s card and giveaway (2-17)

Hello!

Today’s a giveaway day! Wooo!

But, first, you have to take a look at today’s card.

Meet today’s card.

This is a simple card with just a bit of stamping and a bit of coloring.

The girl is a stamp from The Greeting Farm. Ashley N. introduced me to their stamps during CHA. Cute, cute stuff. (Thanks, girl!)

The words are a clear stamp from Hero Arts.

The ribbon and clip are from my stash. The rest is just paper. 🙂

Now, let’s talk giveaway. Wooo!

I’ve got a brand new, factory-sealed, ready to come to your home, Creative Clips & Fonts for the Home, Family & Pets CD from Creating Keepsakes.

One lucky winner will get this fabulous CD with 2o TrueType fonts on it. The fonts are: Amelia;  Brick House; Cat Fight; Coffee Time; Fancy Cat; Fast Food; Fingerpaint; Flower Pot; Good Dog; Grocery List; Hand; Happiness; Kitchen Tools; Potty Training; Rough Housing; Spaghetti; Teen Scene; Teen Scene Graffiti and Wood House.

If you are interested , leave comment here by 10 p.m. EST on Saturday (the 2oth). I’ll pick a winner at random to send the CD off to. All are welcome to throw their hat in the ring for the CD.

Good luck!

And thanks for stopping by. I’ll be back later.

Today’s cards (2-16)

Howdy!

It’s another two-fer card day.

Meet #1.

This was created with PDQ patterned papers from Bisous. The papers are made with scrapbookers in  mind. Take a few of the papers, add pictures,  journaling and a few embellishments and you can have a completed album in no time.

I decided to cut up the PDQ papers I recently scored and use little pieces of them for cards. This one uses bits and pieces from a couple different papers.

To give the butterfly a little extra something, somethin’, I slathered a coat of Glossy Accents from Ranger.

The word is a stamp from Hero Arts.

Meet card #2.

This one again uses PDQ papers from Bisous.

To pop the chipboard butterfly, I used a craft knife to peel off a couple layers of paper.  Here’s an action shot, just in case I’m not making sense. 😉

The words on this card are also from Hero Arts. The crystals are from Zva Creative.

That’s all I have for you today. I’ll be back later.

As always, thanks for stopping by. And a big thank you, too, to all those who have left comments lately. Thank you for being so nice. 🙂

Today’s card (2-15)

Hello all!

It’s that time again. Time for another card.

Meet today’s card.

Not much to say about this one. It’s just a card. 🙂

All the pearls here are from  Zva Creative.

The patterned papers are from October Afternoon. And the word is a sticker from SRM.

I’ll be back later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s card (2-13)

Hello, hello!

Meet today’s card.

This bad boy was inspired by Julie’s Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World. I know, where is the candy? 😉

I drew inspiration from all the pink  and went from there.

The hearts and words are from the Love, Ali clear stamp set from Technique Tuesday. The line the hearts are handing on is also a stamp. It’s from Technique Tuesday’s The Family Circle set by Ali Edwards.

There’s also some Worn Lipstick Distress Stickles action on the light pink hearts.

Well, that is all I have for you for now. I’ll be back tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.
