Zva Creative April Blog Hop! (4-29)

Hi all!

Super thrilled to be joining my friends from Zva Creative for their April blog hop!

Today’s blog begins at Zva Creative’s Facebook page! Be sure head on over to check it out!

And here’s a list of participants (in case there is a glitch along the way):

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  If you like what you see along the hop you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

So I’ve got five — yep, five —- projects to share with you today. All were made with pearls and crystals from Zva’s CHA – Winter release.
Here’s #1.

Here’s #2.
z_missyou_teri
And #3.
z_sayinghello_teriTo give the gems on this one an ombre look of sorts, I used a dark green pen to make some of the crystals just a little bit darker.

And here’s #4.
z_kindness_teri
And, finally, #5.

I added a few extra solo pearls here,  just to give the flourish a little extra”ummph.”

If you would like to play along with the Zva, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!

The next stop on the hop is the blog of the talented Anna Z.! Can’t wait to see what she is sharing today!

By the way, the Blog Hop starts today, April 29th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, April 30th.

…..And there are some prizes up for grabs. That’s always a good thing, right? 😉

Hidden on FIVE of the designer’s blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post… you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer’s blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 1st on Zva Creative’s Facebook page! We will do our best to notify each winner, but it’s best if you can pop in to Zva’s blog on Wednesday to see if you are a winner!

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:

  • Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
  • Comment to let us know that you “tweeted” about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
  • Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that’s fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don’t carry.
  • Hop over to Zva’s facebook page and “like” our page or leave a comment there to tell us that you stopped by if you already like follow us there!

That’s all I have! Be back again later!

Today’s card (4-28)

PS_April_Nautidies_teri

Funky little card to share today.

Not a whole lot to say about this one, other than it’s got some full-on Paper Smooches action happening. Paired together Paper Smooches’ Wicked Nauticool stamp set with the Nauticool dies and just kinda went to town and played until I had something I liked!  🙂

(By the way, the twine is from The Twinery, and the star is from Studio Calico.)

I’ll be back again later, y’all!

Have a good rest of the weekend!

PS_Words1_teri

The words are from the brand spanking new Slang Gang set, which comes out on the first. It’s like this cool set of all slang, fun loving words. They are perfect for cards for teen-agers, college students or just… plain ol’… cool and hip folks.

The phone is from Paper Smooches’ Perpetual Bliss set. It’s one of those PS classes. Just kinda works with most everything.

To give the words a little extra depth (and the phone, too), I applied a few highlights with my trusty old Frosty Blue Copic marker.

PS_Wordsclose_teri

So that’s all I have. Be back again later in the week.

Thanks for swinging by today. Appreciate your kind words.

Today’s card (4-23)

Hi all!

Rather than sharing something fresh off my craft table, I thought I’d share a card I made awhile back today.

HelloFriendPhotos_teriThis one was published in the most recent Card Creations special issue from Paper Crafts magazine. Vol. 11, I believe.

PC20213It’s probably one of my favorite cards of mine that appear in that issue. (By the way, the picture you see really is the actual picture I submitted for consideration to the submissions call for that issue). Like a lot of folks, my friends and I are fans of having goofy pictures taken photo booths so this card really makes me think of them.

There’s a whole lot of October Afternoon paper on the card. The snapshots, in fact, are cut from some October Afternoon paper. I think the stars and conversation bubble are from OA, too. The gems and clips are from elsewhere.

Alright, so there you have it. 🙂 I’ll be back later in the week!
Hope you are having a good one.

Avocado Arts: Projects Share (4-21)

Hi all!

So it’s my turn today to be an ambassador of sorts to the good folks from Avocado Arts and share some projects. So, yeah, here I am!  Pressure! 😉

Playing today with the Perfectly Planted stamp set.

So meet card #1.

And meet card #2.

A_Polkadotflowersbig_teri

And, finally., say hello to card #3.

A_toolsbig_teri

A_toolsclose_Teri

Every single ounce of stamping on these was completed with the Perfectly Planted stamp set. It’s just a really good set to get it the mood for Spring with.

To see some more ideas for this stamp set, be sure to check out the Avocado Arts’ blog.  The team’s been sharing all kinds of great projects all month long with the set.

Today’s card (4-15)

GH_MissingYou_teri

Hi all!

Just a little something, something today.

Made this one with the April Greenhouse Society stamp set from Technique Tuesday. It goes on sale today on their Web site. (eta: As I was writing this, I noticed you can also find it through Ellen Hutson.)

Technique-Tuesday-Greenhouse-03-13-Lilies-Clear-Stamps-Large

The words are from their Happyville – Home stamp set.

I went all “old school” here and whipped out a really old set of chalks to do the coloring to the tulips. To give them a bit more depth, I first colored the leaves and flowers with lighter colors of chalk and then added a layer of darker color to them.

GH_MissingYouclose_teri

Really seemed to help.

The patterned paper? Well, that’s just a bunch of scraps left over from other projects I’ve been working on.

That’s all I have for you for now. Be back again later, gators. 🙂

April Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

2_sae_apr13_awesomeclose_teri

Hi all!

April 10th means it is time for another Studio AE Blog hop for Technique Tuesday.

This month we are using the new Favorite Circles by Ali Edwards stamp set.

Technique-Tuesday-Favorite-Circles-Ali-Edwards-Clear-Stamps-Medium

I really love this set for scrapbook pages, but I decided to challenge myself for this hop and make a card with it instead!

Playing on the old “awesome” theme here.

2_sae_apr13_awesome_teriI stamped the circles four times, stamping on three of them a star from the set . I used the “you are” words from Ali’s Incredible set (I always giggle when I call it by its name. I think it really is incredible.) to stamp “you are” on the fourth circle.

Oh yeah, and I cut each of the circles out with a 1 3/4″ circle punch.

The gems were originally silver. I just used an orange Copic marker to give them a little tint of color.

Be sure to check the blogs of all taking part in the Blog Hop today:

Be sure to comment as you go! Technique Tuesday will select one person from all the comments made during the hop to win a $25 gift certificate to TechniqueTuesday.com. The winner will be announced on the 15th on the Technique Tuesday blog.

Today’s card (4-4)

Image

Hi all!

This is today’s card. This is a card I had published in the March/April issue of Paper Crafts magazine in the Dear Go-to Gals column.

It was one of those getting messy and having some fun along the way kind of cards to make.

I created the background with a stencil from The Crafters Workshop and chalk. Just got the applicator wet first and then dipped it onto the chalk and then applied the chalk over the stencil. Pretty cool effect.

The words are from a Simon Says Stamp! set.

That’s all I have for now. Be back later, gators.

Out for the Day (4-3)

Well, sorta. 😉

I’m over on the blog today for Paper Crafts magazine. (Yeah, they let me out once-in-awhile. Shocking, I know.)

I’m talking about something I like to call: scrap cuts.

Here’s a peek of what you will see.

Image

Check out the post to learn more about what I am talking about and to see the how to and a couple cards made with this thing I call scrap cuts.

And be sure to comment over there because you might win a set of these sweet Baby Shower dies from Paper Smooches. (Thanks, PS, for making this cool prize available!)
