Just played when I made this guy. Created the background with the new Wine dies. Cut them all out from white cardstock, adhere them to a white card and then sponged a couple Oxide Inks (Ranger) onto it. Then I spritzed on a little water and patted things dry with a trusty dusty paper towel.

The sentiment is from the new All Year Cheer stamp set. If you are a card maker, this set is an “all-around perfect for making TONS of different cards” kind of set. It’s got all KINDS of occasions covered.

A handmade card by Teri for Paper Smooches // terisplace.wordpress.com Oh yeah, I wanted the card to have a little glitz too so I slapped on a couple sequins. No real rhyme or reason to where I plopped them.

Alright, friends. That’s all I have for you. I’ll be back again soon. Thanks, as always, for stopping by. Happy hopping!

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi guys!

Super tickled to be contributing a couple tags to Tracey McNeeley’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags festivities today! What is 25 days of Christmas Tags, you ask? Simple. It’s a literally a 25-day event of tag inspiration. Every. Single. Day. For 25 days. Tags, tags and more handmade cards.

Today, Tracey’s highlighting tags made with products from Technique Tuesday.  You know me. I have a soft spot for TT. (Wink!)

Handmade Christmas Tags by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

The images on both of these tags came from a planner stamp set I designed for Technique Tuesday called Planner – Christmas Doodles. They are all hand drawn little doodles for Christmas that work in a planner, but also work pretty great to make tags and cards too.

I basically just stamped a bunch of washi strips and a bunch of flags, added a little color with markers and the fussy cut them out with my scissors. The extra white detailing was pulled off with the help of a white gel pen.

The words on my tags are from the Classic Christmas Sentiments stamp set, but TT has a bunch of Christmas themed stamps with phrases that would have worked well for these tags. The little toppers at the top of my two tags were cut with the Tag Toppers dies.

Alright! That’s all I have. Be back later, friends. Thanks, as always, for stopping by.

Today’s cards (11-15)

Hi guys!

Back again with a couple more cards to share with you.

Was feeling Fall’ish when I put these guys together.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

The bulk of the work in these cards was coloring in the leaves and acorns with markers. All were stamped with the Autumn Acorns stamp set and cut with the coordinating dies from Ellen Hutson.

I used Copic markers to do the dirty… err… coloring… work. I never thought I would say I’m a marker using kind of girl but I do quite enjoy using them these days. Of course, colored pencils + Gamsol ranks right up there too but I haven’t done awhile, but I still love the look.

Once again, I whipped out my Glossy Accents and Nuvo drops to add a little pop to the card. Just applying a few drops of each one adds a nice bit of pop.

Alrighty, that’s all I have, guys. Be back later, friends.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today’s cards (11-13)

Hi guys!

Me again. Big surprise, right?

A couple more cards to share today. Broke my Christmas card binge with a couple non-Christmas cards. Made both of these just for fun.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Both of these use the Baby Birds stamp set and coordinating dies from Paper Smooches. I stamped and cut a bunch of these at a craft night a week or so ago with some of my friends and then came home and colored them over the weekend.

I literally had this whole stack of birds, waiting to go on cards. So I messed around (well, dinked around) and figured out how to arrange all four of them together to fit on one card. The result? Two cards. Kinda fun, right?

One thing I feel to compelled to stay is back when I was a wee cardmaker and scrapbooker, I felt like I always had to color things exactly as they are in the real world. So like the little toucan dude, I would have gone to EXTREME lengths to color him with the proper colors. As I’ve become old and grumpy…. errr… a more experienced crafter…. I’ve gotten away from that and started coloring things with colors that make me happy. It’s kinda freeing to just do your thing and run with it. Anyway…

Alright! That’s what I have for you. I’ll be back again later this week, friends. See you again soon.

Today’s cards (11-12)

Hi guys!

A few more cards to share with you today.

Clean and quick, but fun. Again. All similar. All the result of my recent Christmas card binge.

So meet today’s cards.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

I once again used the Tis the Season set and coordinating dies from Ellen Hutson’s Essentials by Ellen line. I also used the Holly Jolly set to add the little stars.

Once again, went with a soft color combo. Sometimes, it’s just fun to do something you don’t normally do. I don’t often use soft color combos.

Added a little shading under the cars by taking a rag, picking up a small amount of black ink on it and then rubbing into onto the cards. I like how it grounds the cars. It’s nice to not have the cards look like they are floating.

Anyhooooo, that’s all I have for you today. Be back again later, gators. See you soon!

Today’s cards (11-10)

Hi guys!

A few more cards from Christmas card binge to share today. (Be sure to check the posts from the last couple days to see more cards from the binge.)

On your mark. Get set. Goooo!

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Brrrr. Sorry, couldn’t resist. 😉

Whipped out a couple Paper Smooches stamp sets to make these cards. I used the Freezy Fellas stamp set & coordinating dies and Cool Dudes stamp set.

Went with a soft color combo here rather than a full-on red and green Christmas combo. The mint is just so pretty! And the pink/super soft red looks so nice with it. I wasn’t really sure at first, but once I set the snow family on my first card, I was hooked. Definitely going to try that color combo again sometime.

To make the snowflakes stand out, I added a little drop Nuvo to center of each one. Plus I added a few drops at the side of each snowflake. The cards felt pretty flat before I did it, but I think the subtle dropping adds just the right amount of dimension.

Alright! That is all I have for you today, friends. Be back later, gators.

Today’s card (11-9)

Hi guys!

Another day. Another card to share.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Once again, I had some fun with the Tis the Season set from Ellen Hutson. Used the coordinating dies too Again, I think the set might be retired as I can’t find it on the website, but there’s lots of other fun sets to check out so I’m linking to Essentials by Ellen  for you. Because… enabler. Yep. That’s me. 😉

I stamped, die-cut and colored in the Santa three times. Hard to tell but I added a little texture to his hat with some Nuvo drops.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

I sponged some ink onto the card, plopped the Santas down and added a few stamped sentiments. Then I took my trusty dusty black pen and drew the arrows. I feel like … no matter what your drawing skills are… anyone can do a kick booty freehand arrow.

Now I didn’t take a picture of the inside of the card so you are just going to have to trust me that I stamped inside. With what, you ask? Well, friends… I stamped “happy holidays” inside it. Santa may know, but he’s got your back. 😉

Alright. That’s all I have for you. Be back again later, friends.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by.

Today’s cards (11-8)

Hi guys!

We meet again!

I’ve been on a Christmas card binge of sorts so I’ve got a little couple cards to share with you today. This all started because I pulled out some stamps I’ve had for awhile and just wanted to play with them again.

So meet today’s cards.

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

Ta-da!

Made these guys by pairing together the Otterly Awesome stamp set with the Tis the Season stamp set (both from Ellen Hutson). The Tis the Season set might retired as I’m not finding it on Ellen’s website as I write this, but I still dig it. I mean, dude, it’s super cute.

But let’s talk about the cards. Otters have Christmas sweaters, right? Wink. Or they totally need them. I mean, hello, CUTE!

A handmade card by Teri // terisplace.wordpress.com

I put most of my time into these cards by coloring in the sweaters and otters. The blue in the background is just ink sponged in circle. To add to the water feel, I added a few drops of Glossy Accents to mix. Easy peasy. Super easy.

Alrighty! That’s all I have today. Be back later, gators.

Thanks for stopping by. You’re “otterly” awesome. 😉
