Technique Tuesday Oct. Countdown Day 2

New-Blog-Graphics-Blog-Hop-Day-2

Hi, guys!

I’m back… back again… with a couple more projects created with products from the October release from Technique Tuesday.

Today’s projects feature the new Bow on the Border die, which like all the new goods will be available here on the 1st.

This new die has a lot of awesomeness about it. It works with a standard A2 card, plus you can use it to make Christmas cards like this.

HolidaysRedBowCard-teri

Here I just cut a border into a card with it. Then I cut it out again from a piece of red cardstock and used the inner pieces on my card.

I also paired the border with a sentiment from the previously released Classic Christmas Sentiments stamp set.

HolidaysRedBowCardClose-teri

You can also use this die easily to make cards for other occasions, like birthdays!

BirthdayBowBorderCard-teri

So here, I just cut the border into my card, added some patterned paper strips behind it and added a birthday sentiment (from the Lovely Lavender set).

BirthdayBowBorderCardClose-teri

Yep. I also didn’t bother adding the insides of the bow back to the card. Here’s why: I didn’t feel like it. (Wink!) Plus I actually thought the strips of patterned paper looked quite lovely peeking out from the inside of the card.

Alright. That’s it for me. Be sure to hit the Technique Tuesday blog for links to all the other design team members sharing projects today. They are going to KNOCK your socks off. Trust me.

Be back again tomorrow.

Technique Tuesday Oct. Release Countdown Day 1

(Looking for my Sunny Studio Stamps Blog Hop post? Go here! )

Hi, guys!

New-Blog-Graphics-Blog-Hop-Day-1

It’s time again for another release from Technique Tuesday. They’ll be releasing some fun new stamp sets and dies on the 1st, and I’m joining my TT Design Team pals with sharing some projects today made with the new goods.

I’m sharing today a couple projects I made with the new String of Lights stamp set. (It will be available on the New Products page on the 1st.)

Tangle-Free-Lights-Card-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

The lights and words on this card are from the stamp set, which I actually designed myself. For this card, I stamped the string of lights onto the vintage patterned paper panel and then I stamped them a second time on white cardstock. I colored them in with markers and then fussy cut the bulbs to go on my card. I think the white just kinda helped the colors pop more, although I am pretty darn sure the lights would have been equally lovely had I colored them on the patterned paper. 🙂

The little label I stamped the sentiment on? That’s from the previously released Jam Jar Labels set of dies. It’s a pretty versatile little set of dies. I use it a lot.

I wanted to do something different with this second card so I used a different color scheme to color in the lights.

Purple-Tangle-Free-Holiday-Card-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

I also wanted the lights to have a little bit of sparkle so I used my Wink of Stella pen to add a layer of sparkle to them after I colored them in. Purple-Tangle-Free-Holiday-Card-Close-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

I think it looks pretty cool.

Alright. That’s all I have for you. I’ll be back tomorrow.

Sunny Studio Stamps 3rd Birthday Blog Hop

Birthday Blog Hop Logo

Hi, guys!

I’m so happy to be celebrating the 3rd birthday of Sunny Studio Stamps today with a blog hop with some of the most awesome stampers around.

You should have arrived here from the blog of Juliana Michaels! I’m Teri, and this is the last stop on the hop. Just getting started? You’ll want to head to the blog of Sunny Studio after this stop for the complete list.

So I have to say that it’s super cool to see Sunny Studio Stamps turn 3. I’ll tell you a secret: Mendi, the brains behind it, is one of my real life crafty friends. Yes, we really do craft together sometimes. 🙂 If there was ever a company that was a reflection of who someone is, this is what Sunny Studio Stamps is. It is truly Mendi. Happy, friendly and top-notch. And I can also tell you, Mendi works really, really hard at making it all come together. There’s a lot you don’t see. She does it all with a smile and a lot (and I mean A LOT) of heart. I’m proud of you, Mendi, and can’t wait to see what happens next with Sunny Studio Stamps!

Anyway, let’s get back to the hop.

I’ve got three… (yep, 3) cards to share with you today. Each of these cards feature some new products that have just debuted at Sunny Studio Stamps. (By the way, deal alert! Use coupon code “CELEBRATE” to get 15% off any retail orders placed through the Sunny Studio Stamps website through October 1st.)

So meet card #1.

ChristmasSeasonCocoaCard-teri

I couldn’t resist making a cute little scene with the new Warm & Cozy dies. This little dies  are so sweet with a cocoa cup, hat and even mittens! And do you see that pattern on the mitten and hat? Did it myself (oh yeah!) with the help of Sunny Studio’s new Cable Knit embossing folder.

A Christmas card by Teri | terisplace,wordpress.com

I cut a piece of cardstock and embossed it first and then cut the hat and mitten from it. I’m not sure there’s any magical way you are supposed to do it, but that’s just what I do when embossing and die-cutting stuff.

I was on a roll so with embossing and die-cutting and came up with card no. 2.

WarmThoughtsRainbowMittensCard-teri

I used the same supplies as the last card, just changed things up by going with a rainbow color scheme instead. There’s just something about rainbows, you know. I love them.

WarmThoughtsRainbowMittensCard2-teri

And meet card #3.

HappyFoxesChristmasCard1-teri

I wanted a mostly clean and graphic card, but I didn’t want it to be boring so I created the white background with the embossing folder. It’s hard to tell but I did stitch a frame around the panel because … well… I just felt like it for this card. How is that for reasoning? (Wink!)HappyFoxesChristmasCard2-teri

The adorable foxes were stamped and die-cut with the Foxy Christmas stamps and coordinating dies. The words on this card (as well as the other two) are from the stamp set.

Alrighty! That’s all I have for you. Be sure to leave a comment on my post for a chance to win a $25 gift code for Sunny Studio Stamps. Comments will be taken until Monday, 11:59 PDT.

Be sure hit the other blog hop stops too as they all have prizes too. The winner from my blog, as well as the winners from the rest of the stops, will be announced on Oct. 5th on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog.

Christmas Blog Hop with Technique Tuesday

Hi, guys!

I’m happy to be blog hoppity hopping today with the Design Team from Technique Tuesday!

Technique Tuesday released some Christmas stamps and dies in August and September and we’re celebrating by sharing some projects made with them. We are also celebrating that they will be releasing even more Christmas stamps and dies over the next few months. (Hint: Lights! Hint: Cocoa! And more! I totally said too much. Let’s keep that between you and me! But know that I cannot wait for you to see what TT has up their sleeves!)

First, let me give you the hop list.

Now, let me show you the projects!

I’ve been dying to share this first project for someone time.

The sweet little guy is on it is my friends’ little fella, who celebrated his first Christmas last year.

Holiday-Magic-Scrapbook-Page-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

Is he just the cutest reindeer? Makes my heart smile! 🙂

I used a few different Technique Tuesday products to decorate this page. First, I used the new Story of December set to add the date to it and to create that Story of December label you see. And then I used some previously released stamp sets to do the rest of the stamping: Classic Christmas Sentiments and Spirit of December. I also used the Ribbon & Holly dies to add the ribbon and holly leaves to the page. I just love the ribbon and holly berry. They look so cool when cut from glitter paper.

A scrapbook page by Teri Anderson for TechniqueTuesday.com

Now I didn’t use the December Moments set to stamp anything on the page, but the sentiments in that set would have worked perfect on my labels too. That set is packed with good scrapbooking stamps.

Now, here’s my second project.

A stamped Christmas card by Teri | terisplace.wordpress.com

For this little Christmas card, I created one big sentiment by combining phrases from the December Moments and Christmas Birds stamp sets.

DecemberBirdsCard-teri

The little birds and presents were also stamped with the Christmas Birds set. They were cut with the matching crafting dies. Now there’s no tree in the stamp set but there’s a little piece of greenery in the Spirit of December set that makes a good substitute tree… and is sized as such that (just a happy coincidence) it works with the birds. Yay for happy coincidences!

Alright! That’s all I have!

This is, officially, the last design team stop on the hop! If you haven’t already hit the Technique Tuesday blog, please do so. You’ll find the complete hop list there, plus you will want to comment on their post, as well as the this post and the rest of the DT’s posts, as there is a Technique Tuesday gift certificate up for grabs for a lucky someone who leaves a comment on one of the posts. Comments will be taken until midnight on the 20th! The winner will be announced on the 22nd on the Technique Tuesday blog.

Thanks for stopping… and hopping… on by! I always appreciate it when you do, friends. Thank you.

Taylored Expressions 10th Birthday Bash

c596a1ce-aba2-11e8-8ee7-d671e59d01ba

Hi, friends!

I’m super excited to be joining some lovely crafty folks today in an awesome blog hop celebrating the birthday of Taylored Expressions. There are almost 40 (!!!) awesome folks taking part. You’ll find the whole list of blog hoppers here.

First, let’s take a trip down Memory Lane. It seems like just yesterday I was attending a trade show in California, checking out TE stamps for the very first time in person. I was so excited to see the cute images in person for the very first time, plus see some amazing cards Taylor had made with them. And Taylor was so incredibly kind. I’ve never forgotten how kind she was.

Taylored Expressions just released some fun new products last night, and, for the hop, we are sharing some projects created with previously released birthday products. Because…. birthdays are always in… and card worthy!

So let me show you what I made for the hop. Drum roll, please. 😉

A stamped birthday card by Teri featuring Taylored Expressions stamps | Terisplace.wordpress.com

Ta-da!

I had so much fun making this little card. The critters, words and hat are all from the Peek-a-Boo Birthday stamp set. The critters don’t actually have the hats on them so I got all fancy-schmancy and did some masking. I stamped the hat onto each critter’s panel, masked them off (with another hat stamped on a sticky note and fussy cut out) and then stamped the critters. Easy peasy. Ok, it did take a little time, but it was easy peasy.TE-BirthdayCrittersCard2-teri-watermarked

I created the little frame for the sentiment with the stamp set, cardstock, the Mini Frame #4 die and a marker (and an ink pad). To make the words pop, I adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Alright, friends. That’s what I have for you.

One more thing, before I go,  I want to invite you to join Taylored Expressions in the Share Joy campaign. Here’s a little info from Taylor and friends about the campaign.

“At the heart of Taylored Expressions is a mission to share joy through the gift of handmade cards. As part of their 10th birthday TE is continuing that mission with the launch of a special Share Joy campaign focused on providing birthday cards to those in nursing homes and assisted-living facilities across the U.S. To make as deep an impact as possible TE is inviting card makers everywhere to join the campaign. Will you join us? Find out how to participate by viewing their Share Joy page here: https://www.tayloredexpressions.com/share-joy-birthday-2018

Oh yes, and don’t forget to stop by the Taylored Expressions blog to check out the complete list of folks taking part in today’s hop.

Technique Tuesday Release Day

Hi, guys!

I’m back with another Technique Tuesday project. This time, my project is in honor of their September release that is on sale now.

Today’s project is not a card. Nope. It’s layout. 🙂

This-Is-Us-Labels-Scrapbook-Page-Teri-A-Technique-Tuesday

Created this one specifically for Technique Tuesday. The folks in the picture are some friends of TT, who were kind enough to let me to use the picture on the layout.

I created the little labels with the new Things Change stamp set. It’s a cool stamp set for scrapbooking as it features lots of memory keeping-like phrases.

And the words fit nice with the previously released Captions and Labels dies.

A scrapbook page by Teri for Technique Tuesday | terisplace.wordpress.com

Besides the stamps and the Captions and Labels dies, I also used the new Amazing Arrows dies to add some arrows to my page here. The arrows were cut from white cardstock and then I just used a marker to change their color so they’d work with the color scheme on my scrapbook page. I’m excited to use those dies more in the future on other projects.

Alright! That’s it for today.

Be sure to hit the Technique Tuesday blog to find links to all the TT Design Team members sharing projects today. Also be sure to hit this page on the TT website to see all the new products.
