Simon Says Stamp: Cold Hands, Warm Heart Blog Hop

chwhhop

Hi guys!

Super excited to be invited by my friends over at Simon Says Stamp! to join them today for blog hop celebrating their new Cold Hands, Warm Heart release. If you haven’t checked it out yet, go. Go see. So, so many neat stamps, dies and stencils. All perfect for holiday projects.

I’m excited to share with you a few projects I made with some of the new products so let’s do this.

Please give it up for card #1.

SSS_PeaceonEarth_teri

I created this guy with the new Ring Frame dies. In full disclosure: I’m a bit of a circle addict (… wink!) so it’s totally right up my alley.I die-cut the ring from white and black cardstocks and then layered them together. Then I cut out the ring a couple more times (from orange, pink and blue cardstocks) and used the inner circles to decorate the rings up.

(By the way, the words and snowflake are from a couple stamps from SSS’s last release. The words are from Peace on Earth, while the snowflake is from Lots of Snowflakes.)

I couldn’t stop with just one circle-themed card. I had (just had) to make another with the Ring Frame dies.

Please meet card #2.

Ta-da!

I used somewhat the same technique as the first card. Instead  of filling all the circles with paper circles, I added a few sequins to a couple of them and left a few empty.

You might be wondering about that background. It’s not patterned paper. Nope. Sure isn’t. It was die-cut from white cardstock with the new Triangle Pattern plate die. I removed a few of the triangles to just add to the visual interest a little.

Kinda fun, huh?

Can you handle another card? Hope so because here is card #3.

I wanted to put something together on the simple + graphic side so that’s what I was going on here.

sss_brrr_teri

Everything stamped on this guy is from the Winter Warmth stamp set. I also used the coordinating dies to die-cut the scarves. I fussy cut a lot of stamped images and I sometimes forget what a time saver dies can be, especially when you are planning to make lots of projects. Die-cut + stamp + plaster on card = boom! You are good to go.

So, in addition to my cards, I also whipped up a couple pocket page cards. I am fairly passionate about pocket page memory keeping and like to make cards ahead of time so I can just kinda grab them when I am in a scrapbooking zone.

For both of these little cards, I used watercolor pencils to trace the tree patterns from the Four Trees Stencils. I spread the color with water and then used one of the stencils to trace the outer tree pattern This is where things sound all complicated, but you are going to have to trust me here. It totally wasn’t. I used the tracing a as a stitching pattern to stitch floss for the trees’ outlines.

The words I used on both pocket page cards are from the  Peace on Earth stamp set.  I think they turned out pretty dang cute.

Alright so that’s what I have. You’re next stop on the hop is the Simon Says Stamp! blog. Ok. You’ve actually reached the final stop in the blog hop so technically I’m sending you back to the start. And the start is the Simon Says Stamp! blog! Great job on all.
