Paper Crafts Magazine Presents: Color Inspiration for Card Makers Blog Hop

Howdy everyone!

Well, it’s a fun day in blog land.

That because I’m joining forces today with nine other crafters for the Color Inspiration for Card Makers Blog Hop. This is to the celebrate the new release of Paper Crafts magazine’s Color Inspiration for Card Makers special issue.

Just in case you haven’t heard about the issue, let me tell you a little bit about it. The issue is all about color and great color combos for card making. The issue hits the whole spectrum of color combos from neutrals and pretty pastels to bright & bold ones. You can find the issue in craft stores and on newstands all over. You can also find it in the Paper Crafts store by going  here.

I think this issue has the potential to be a great resource for card makers. That’s because the color combos already decided for you. The issue is smack packed with color recipes of 3 to 4 colors to use. All you need to do it pick a combo and get to creating. And if you are anything like me, I spend a lot figuring out what colors I want to use when I start making stuff. It’s just nice to have that taken care of already.

Ok, so enough about the issue. Let me share with you my project for the hop.

With that, meet today’s card. 🙂

So we were asked to use the same color combo that Lea used on the card on the issue’s cover.  I decided to channel my stamp loving side and use inks that matched with the combo. I bent the rules a bit (’cause would you guys wouldn’t know me any other way, right?) by using the white base.

To make the yellow butterfly pop a bit, I added a larger vellum butterfly below it.

The butterflies are from Papertrey Ink, while the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. The blue pearls are from Queen & Co.

So that’s all I have to tell you about my card. 🙂

Be sure to leave a comment here on my blog. Editor Kelly has offered up a copy of Color Inspiration for me to give away to one of you. (Woohoo! Thanks, Kelly!) All comments must be posted by midnight on Sunday, Jan. 16.

You’ll also want to visit the blogs of my fellow blog hoppers to see what they are did with this color combo:
Julia Stainton
Chan Vuong
Latisha Yoast
• Teri  (That’s me!)
Betsy Veldman
Kalyn Kepner
Kimberly Kesti
Kim Hughes
Lisa Johnson
Lea Lawson

(Pssst. They are giving away issues, too!)

And, finally, you’ll want to hit Paper Crafts Connection today and comment there. That’s because one lucky person is going to win all of this.

Mmmmmm. Nice. Feel free to remember yer’ old friend, Teri, when you win. 😉 Kidding!

That’s all for now. Be back again soon.

Thanks for stopping by today.
