Hi all!
Today, I’m over on the Paper Crafts blog talking again about tools.
This time, I am talking about the L Letterpress Tool from Lifestyle Crafts. If you haven’t heard of the Letterpress, it’s a pretty amazing tool for paper crafters. It allows you to achieve the look of letterpress, which is basically debossing paper and filling the debossed areas with ink.
Go to Paper Crafts Connection to see exactly how the tool works as well as three projects I made with it. Here’s a peek of the projects from over there.
And I’ve got three bonus projects to share with you here today. 😉
Meet #1.
I used four of the Letterpress’ printing plates on this one (3 flowers and 1 word). I inked only the thanks word when I did the printing. I left the flowers uninked.
Meet #2.
I used one of the large background printing plates made for the Letterpress on this one. I did kind of a masking technique here. I set a circle cut from cardstock on my paper and then printed over it. After I finished printing, I removed the circle and got the cool white circle.
Meet #3.
I wanted to see how the Letterpress worked when I made several cards and changed out the ink colors. Believe it or not, I printed 10 cards with the Christmas tree printing plate. I switched between green and gold inks so I got a real assortment. Then, I printed several sentiments with black ink. I cut them up and then added them randomly to the cards.
That’s all for now.
Be back again tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by.
I first saw the Papercrafts blog in my reader, then this post and I wondered if I was seing double! Love the finished Christmas cards: so simple and elegant!
LOVE! Love. Love. Love.
I love the whole concept. Something to put on the wishlist. The cards are awesome! TY
I’ve got the L Letterpress kit and use it in my Cuttlebug – but I don’t use it near enough – thanks for the inspiration!
Love, love, love all these cards. Love the way you manipulated them and made them your own, but even the basic techniques give beautiful results.
The pearls are a nice touch on the monogram card and I LOVE the Christmas trees!! I have red and silver ink, so now just need to invest in green and gold. I’m thinking the Viva pens (I haven’t tried them yet as I can’t get them locally) would make fabulous “ornament” accents on the trees. Can’t wait to see what you show us with the I-Rock (another favorite of mine) and the I-Top (haven’t used it yet).
Beautiful cards Teri!!!! Love everything you make 🙂
seriously love your cards…The Letterpress tool is going to the top of my ‘wish list’…thanks for the inspiration!
I have been intrigued with this since first hearing about it but I really can’t afford another machine. I was going to ask if it can be used in a cuttlebug and I see that Michelle commented that she uses the kit that way. I may have to get it with a Hobby Lobby 40% coupon and try this. Your cards are simply gorgeous.
This looks like so much fun, your cards are beautiful!
I’ve been seeing more and more about this product and it looks very interesting. Christmas is coming, so maybe?????. In the meantime I’ll be on the lookout for more info about this machine.
Thank you for posting…I love this “info” sessions on the blog with tools. Sometimes I see so many tools & I have no idea what to do with them! What machines can be used with the Letterpress? I have a Sizzix Big Shot. Your cards are lovely..they look like cards I’ve seen in the big card stores. Thank you!
Thanks for showing us how to use the tool! Would love to see what can be done with Sizzix BigKick Machine!
